From the German fanclub -
We are sorry to announce that there will be no official fanclubs in any country that has no label support (eg. official Tokio Hotel page).
For South America the following fanclubs are official:
Argentina: http://tokiohotel-arg.forosactivos.com/ ... ?connexion (http://tokiohotel-arg.forosactivos.com/login.forum?connexion)
Brasil: http://www.thbrasil.blogger.com.br/
Mexiko: http://www.myspace.com/onitth
For Europe:
Portugal: http://www.cftokiohotel.piczo.com/?cr=5
I totally missed that so I thought i'd post it here. I really hope they get a UK record label soon. It's seems odd that they don't.

Ahh what?!? :'(
DO you think that could be why they hardly play in the UK? Because they don't have the record company to support them?
This is VERY dissapointing...

Until we hear something officially or from Claire i'd guess that the website simply shows all Universal artists regardless of location. Tokio Hotel are most likely to come under Interscope or Mercury records in the future, possibly Island but i'd HATE them to be on Island, i'd rather they never had a UK label at all.
This is the reason they haven't been here much, hopefully a deal will be sorted soon.

Yeah exactly. Island isn't the best, and I would prefeer TH on Mercury Records because then they wouldn't be on the same record label as boybands such as McFly....

GUYS! We've had an Official UK Fanclub for ages. It's:
http://www.tokiohotel.org.uk
And was named official last June. This year, the UK FC and the THUKST merged to become one entire official entity for the UK!

Also, Island would be a MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE step-up from Fascination Records and I would be grateful for them to be on Island. Why are people against Island?

I'm personally against Island due to the control they try to exhibit over their artists work.
I've heard it a few times, Hanson were with Island, they wanted to develop and mature as a band yet Island not only wanted them to stay 'Mmmbop' Hanson, but also rejected several of their songs (infact most) for their new album at the time. This made Hanson seriously question their talent as singers, songwriters and musicians.
Eventually Hanson left Island and created their own Independent label. The album Island rejected became the number 1 selling independent album -of all time.-
I guess my love for Hanson, and the agony a lot of fans went through watching this unfold and then hearing songs about their depression during this time has affected my judgement of Island as a record label.
I'm not saying Island UK would have the same attitude, i'm simply wary of the possibility.

Island didn't have clue what to do with Hanson as they grew up, the label didn't cater well for the type of music the band were wanting to make and the fact it was a transition from what they were known as. Although Island were crap with Hanson, I do think most of the trouble they had was to do with with Fenster as a person and the fact they were obviously going to change as a band, especially as they were so young. I think TH have a far more established sound now than Hanson did at that that stage, so Island could be more forthcoming in support of them.

I really hope they would if TH went to Island. I've just created such a distaste to them after that whole incident. I don't like labels that become involved with the creative process of a bands music no matter what the case is and even though TH are more settled in their sound, i'd hate if they felt pressured to keep -that- sound if Island weren't open to anything more risky. We've already heard from the band that they've experimented with this album, I want them to keep experimenting as they get older and for the next albums and never to be held back.

Yeah, we can only hope!
And hey, might never happen, fingers crossed if it does though.

Island would never ever get involved with TH creatively. TH's contract with Universal is set up completely differently - TH create and produce their album without input from Universal. They pay for it themselves and just deliver the final product to Universal. It's not like a normal band where the record label pays and has a good deal of input into it.
That's not to say TH personally have creative control. Their producers do, unfortunately. They pay, they created TH, they write most of the music and so it's them that make the decisions.
Secondly, IF a record label were to be involved to that extent, it would be Universal Germany and not any sublabel in this country. None of the decisions would be made here. Back in 2007, Universal Germany had TH on such a tight leash, it was difficult for the label just to get them here, never mind having a say on the content of their music. LOL.
Also, TH are on Island in Germany technically. But because they are Germany's biggest band and export, they are looked after by the top dogs of Universal now. Plus, I do believe some merging occured in Germany a while back. Not that I can ever get my head around the music industry.
I don't really know much about Hanson though. Sounds a bit rubbish. :/

That's more of a relief! I wasn't sure how TH worked from a more business point of view, certainly quite unusual. I'm glad they've found something like that, that works.
I remember reading up the story between TH and the UK on the street team forum, is them being on Universal UK's website new or is it like I guessed earlier and more a generalisation of all Universal's artists? I'm still confused why the German fanclub named Portugal as the only other European fanclub. :?
Did they forget about us?

TH have always been on the main Universal website as they are Universal artists.
The German Fanclub named Portugal and the South American FCs recently because they were already official via the local record labels. All the other FCs were announced last June and the details are here:
http://www.tokiohotel-fanclub.de/fc/ind ... 0&Itemid=1 (http://www.tokiohotel-fanclub.de/fc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=210&Itemid=1)
There were stages. For instance, in the interrim, some FC changes were made with regard to France. Denmark was given a FC. And, more recently, Austria was given one.
It's all done in stages and the German FC isn't very good at keeping all the information up to date or in the same place. But, the list they announced recently wasn't ALL the FCs, just some new ones.
