"At the end of each episode of FNMTV, starting with tonight’s episode, we’ll open up two nominee categories for you to vote on. Each category will contain dozens of eligible videos released over the last year, and you can vote until the polls close on the following Wednesday at 11amET/8am PT. We’ll announce the finalists in those category that Friday on FNMTV, when we announce two more categories. (You can also check out the finalists at vma.mtv.com).

The winners in each category except Best New Artist (that’s all you!) will then be determined by a panel of seasoned pros (professionals, not prostitutes), who will also pick the nominees and winners in a series of “professional” awards — Best Choreography, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Special Effects, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Story."

JUST ANNOUNCED! We couldn't keep the lid on this one any longer: The Jonas Brothers will be burnin' up the 2008 VMAs with a miss-it-and-miss-out live musical performance! Fresh off a year of touring, the release of their hit movie, 'Camp Rock,' and their brand- new album, 'A Little Bit Longer,' the Jonas Brothers will be making MTV history when they rock the 2008 VMAs on September 7, 2008. OMJ!

But we're not just gonna hand over the Jonas Brothers without a little effort on your part. This year, YOU get to help determine the VMA nominees. Each week, right up until the big night, we'll announce a new nominee category and YOU have a voice in deciding who should get a shot at a coveted Moonman.

Last year, we raised the stakes high on the 2007 VMAs when we took over the Palms Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. But for the 2008 VMAs, we're doing it bigger and better -- and did we mention bigger? -- than ever before.

The VMAs have never been, nor will they ever be your conventional speech-smile-pause-applause award show. Instead, in addition to honoring the best videos in any given year, the VMAs have hosted some of the most unforgettable live performances in pop culture history: Madonna's 1983 "Like a Virgin" stage-humping routine, her Vogueing in straight-up, throwback Victorian gear, and her infamous make-out session with Britney Spears, Nirvana live (!!!), t.A.t.U (seriously -- it happened in 2003 -- look it up), Marilyn Manson's electrifying rendition of "The Beautiful People," Christina Aguilera and Limp Bizkit, the army of Eminems, U2 in 2001, Britney and the snake, Puffy and Sting's tribute to Biggie, Guns N' Roses, Beyoncé's descent from the ceiling, NSYNC sharing the stage with Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown and Rihanna's jaw-dropping duet from just last year.

And then there's the unforgettable must-see moments: Michael Jackson shoving his tongue down then-wife Lisa Marie Presley's throat and simultaneously gagging the collective viewing public, Prince in ass-less pants, Fiona Apple's agro assault on the audience, Triumph the Insult Comedy Dog's attempt to sniff J. Lo's butt, drunk Courtney Love, jealous Kayne, Sarah Silverman's and Chris Rock's outrageous LOL-fests, and more, to name just a few of the most oh-yes-they-did moments in VMA history. And this year, the VMAs are set to be the most outrageously adventurous yet.

2008 marks the 25th annual VMAs, and to celebrate, MTV is heading to Hollywood, and we're taking over every inch of Paramount Studios. That's right -- instead of ushering your favorite A-list artists, reality stars, record-breakers, trouble-makers, models and other beautiful people straight to the velvety seats of your average auditorium, we're turning them loose on the movie sets, lots and hallowed Hollywood ground of Paramount Studios.

So, on September 7, 2008, at 9PM, you can watch history get made as we celebrate the 25th annual VMAs, live from Paramount Studios in Hollywood. It could only happen in the movies, or, in this case, at the 2008 MTV VMAs. And, of course, it all happens live, so anything and everything can happen -- and it probably will.

I was voting for Monsoon, for Video of the Year, and voting didn't seem limited. It didn't say 'only one vote' or give me an error when I voted more than once. How do you know it's only one vote per account?


Btw I also have a good voting tip on unlimited votings, like Best New Artist. When you click 'vote', you can click again on the blue screen to make it disappear, rather than x'ing out. This way you can rapid vote, it takes 3 clicks for a vote.
