I have read several areas of the forum, and find that some are redundant..Media, then Interviews, Reviews, etc. (All being the same sort of thing...) ...Somehow it seems a bit less than user friendly..My question is, "Is this forum officially linked to Tokio Hotel?

I am very new to this site, but find it odd that the layout and imagery is very dated..AND if it is linked officially to the band, why would there not be at least an update on the opening page..It's still has them listed as being in Germany???

A bit behind on the updates and info??

Media are mainly videos
Interviews are mainly articles from papers etc.
Reviews come from fans and others and is not always the same as a article. It's easy to let something like a review disappear in the Interview section since there's so many articles.

And this is the official forum and the updates regarding looks has been reported to the one doing the layout.

If you look in the News section you'll see they are up to date.

Opening page doesn't have much info, you have to go to the sections to see that.

And Welcome to the forum :D

1. Yes, this forum is officially linked to Tokio Hotel. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to call ourselves "Official"

2. If by imagery you're referring to the banner at the top, then that's out of our control. You'll have to blame the powers that be for that.

3. Same thing goes for updates on the main page, it's out of our control.

4. As for the "redundant" areas, well....our admins are extremely clean and tidy and like for everything to be organized accordingly. I guess it makes it easier for people to find specific things they're looking for.

5. Lastly, we have an area for questions like this: http://www.tokiohotel.com/us/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Just be glad you don't live in England where the last update on the news page was about four months ago.

In the black bar above you'll see the whole section is called Media which then is separated into Interviews/Reviews, Media and Translations.

I think this forum is really neat and has everything organised very well.

I created an account on THUS a while back... O_O I couldn't even figure it out.
I probably just have to get use to it.

Yeah that one took me some time too but I just stayed in certain sections. They have more sections not TH related.

What I don't get is why there's this forum, THUS, and THA's forum. Wouldn't it make more sense to have just one?

THA is the fanclub forum, which was actually made about 6 months+ before this forum.

THUS is also older than we are, but it's got no specific affiliations.

Then this is the Official forum, tied to the website and all, like there is for each country linked on the TH.com page.

So, each of the forums serves a different purpose, be it fanclub, official, or other.

That doesn't explain why these separate forums are maintained. Strength in numbers. *shrug*

THUS is privateowned not linked to the offical site, band or recordcompany so they can do w/e they want, have any rules they want etc. Just like any other forum you can open yourself.

THA is is the forum of the FC which is chosen by the band.
TH-US (that would be us) is the official forum chosen by the recordcompany.
THA and TH-US can only be official as long as TH say so or the owners can afford to keep it going. I know THA has to pay for it themselves and not long ago asked ppl to help out and I also noticed many became mods or admins after that. How it works here if Christina pays for the site, Idk.

Thanks for explaining!

Wow! Cherrytree chose this forum? It's paid for out of someone's own pocket? Wow, I thought TH paid for it!

I think my mind has just been blown a little.

Christina coded the original forum, hosted it on her site for awhile, and then it was ported over to the TH.com site when the techs had a chance. It was created at management's request to be the Official forum.

What is it with TH and the UK? It's like there's some bad blood there.

Many are members here now but the UKST works better I think then the official forum.
We don't really know in detail what is going on with the UK and TH but I heard it had something to do with them not being marketed there. So that was down to the ppl there who didn't feel it was woprth it I guess. Theiur single ended up really low on the charts so maybe that was it.

THDGaja

^ You've basically got it pegged. They get no marketing, the new media called their one show there (which I heard went quite well, actually) a giant ball of fail, and there's just no media love for them there.

VanessaM
December 5th, 2010, 07:13 PM
^On the par of the UK it sounds like Katy Perry Syndrome. They're obviously just jealous. :P

But on TH's part, if their show there went well, maybe they'd be smarter to ignore the media. Since when do they give in to haters? </rhetorical>

Thanks, guys, for explaining.

Are the cultures in THA and THUS very different from the culture of TH-US?

THA is superstrict and THUS allow 18+ content and twincest in their ff's.
The reason many came here after being on THA is because it is very strict. TH-US and THUS is way more open with viewing your opinions.

And what's going on between TH and Canada? Doesn't seem like there's a lot of love there either.
