I finally got to pop my TH concert cherry! =D lmao I don’t even know where to begin. This is a COMPLETE review of everything that happened on Thursday. It was definitely an eventful day. I'm going to talk a lot so... you've been warned LOL.
Getting there
My sister and I left to Mexico City with a bus full of fans on Wednesday night, so we would get there in the morning and get to stand in line early in the day. We played a few TH CDs and DVDs on the bus, it was fun! We sang along and got to know each other a little and gossiped a lot about the band ;D We froze our bums off all night in the bus and we didn’t get much rest (at least, I slept for about an hour in small intervals; I was too cold to sleep,) and when we finally made it to DF in the morning, we were slowed down a LOT by traffic. My god! someone get that city flying cars already; they’re in desperate need of them. Anyway, as if traffic hadn't been enough of a b*tch, WE ALSO GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT! There was some damage done to the bus, but nothing serious, and thankfully nobody got hurt. HOWEVER, taking care of things took away our entire morning, so by the time we made it to the venue, it was around 2pm.
Waiting in line
Once we got to Palacio it was all good, though. We got in one of the lines and took turns to go have walks, grab a bite to eat, bathroom breaks, etc. Up to that point everything was running smoothly. There were only a few moments of craziness where fans rushed to the entrance because apparently the boys had gotten there and they were trying to catch a glimpse (later on, someone said it was the Bill and Tom look alikes, which is NOT true. Those fanboys were standing in line like the rest of us. I do think it was the boys, because people rushed to the fence to look at people INSIDE the venue; no one else had access to that part. At any rate, I was too much of a lazy asss to get up and see what the deal was, so I’m only speculating here xD) My sis and I went to take a walk after eating and we were able to hear a bit of their sound check; that bass was nice and loud ;D. We chilled in line for a few more hours until finally security started organizing our lines to let us in. There was so much excitement in the atmosphere! We literally had a blast waiting to get in. People were doing the wave, chanting, singing TH songs, joking around with the venue staff, etc.
My sis and I waiting in line. Crappy camera, much? LOL

Waiting inside the venue. (There’s going to be a LOT of venting here; I apologize in advance, but I can’t just not write about how things went down.)
Most of the people in the group I was with got general area tickets just like my sis and I, but once inside everyone scattered. We wanted to be on Tom’s side of the stage (y’know me ;D) so that’s where we headed… or tried to. We made it somewhere around the first 8 rows god knows how, but the place was SO chaotic we ended up being pushed back and over to the middle, sorta close to the runway. We hung in there for a while, and as time went by I kept thinking the whole thing had to be a freaking joke. Firstly, the pit was a complete and utter NIGHTMARE. I still can’t believe people can be so stupid, honestly. People kept pushing and shoving, trying to get to the front, when clearly there was NO way through. I thought the fact that some parents got their young kids in the pit was REALLY irresponsible, because we’d only been inside for 30 minutes (we still had AN HOUR before the concert started) and people were already being pulled out like crazy. Of course it wasn’t their fault things got literally savage in there, but they could’ve made use of a little common sense. Also, a lot of people were on the verge of fainting, and the people around simply would not move over! It was quite distressing watching them gasp for air and have no one give them a hand. Some girls next to us kept shouting to security so they’d try to control the crowd a little, but they simply couldn’t do it. People were pushing back and forth really badly, and my sister and I just held on to each other trying not to lose our ground. I was scared someone would faint or wouldn’t be able to keep themselves on their feet, because if they’d fallen during some of those bits with the REALLY intense pushing, they’d most likely would’ve been stompped and gotten seriously injured, I’m not even kidding. Sounds like your average TH concert, doesn’t it? but I really do think people went overboard this time. There is a reason why it HAD to be stopped; I wish you would’ve been there so you could’ve seen with your own eyes how crazy it actually was. My sis and I were doing fine, except we couldn’t move one inch. We were in a really good position to get a nice view of the boys, but I was p*ssed off that people were behaving like such assholes, making things worse instead of helping others around when clearly security alone wasn’t enough, so we gave up our chance to see the guys up close and headed to the back of the pit in hopes of actually enjoying the show and being able to move. We stood against the fence and chilled there for another 30 minutes. It wasn’t as bad as our previous position, but we still couldn’t move much; I couldn’t even reach down for my camera. We got water from the security there and talked to some people while we waited for the show to start. In the end, my sister and I began considering leaving the pit for good and going all the way to the back, because we weren’t going to enjoy the show being trapped in there. I don’t know how people could take it… how they could enjoy the show when they were being squished and pushed around, and watching others faint and security pull out people like there’s no tomorrow. In the end, we decided we didn’t want to be there anymore, and took advantage of the fact that we were at the back of the first section already, so we asked one of the guys there to give us a hand and help us over the fence. Once we got out of there, we walked to the back just in time for the concert to start. It was seriously the best thing we could’ve done. I enjoyed the show very much standing in the back! We could actually grasp air to be able to sing along at the top of our lungs. We clapped and cheered and jumped around and had no one bother us the entire show ^_^ When the concert finally started and the boys came out it was so surreal!! I couldn’t see them as close as I would’ve wanted to, but there were screens so whatever haha. Though, I have to say, Bill looked a lot bigger than I imagined him to be, both height and width wise lmao… but that could’ve just been his costumes xD LOL. He looked amazing, anyway. They all did.
Drama, drama, drama...
Okay so now for the most dramatic part of night which honestly deserves an academy award. When they started playing WBMW I was really tempted to pull out my camera and record, because Bill was standing on top of the highest part of stage and I could get a clear view of him, but I didn’t do it, because I’m honestly not one to go to concerts and just stand there holding a camera (I know, I know... I promised loads of videos and pictures, but you gotta understand! please don't slaughter me! lmao.) I like to have my fun and enjoy the show. I do regret it now, though, because I hear there aren’t many videos out there from when the show was stopped. So out of nowhere, Bill stopped singing and hurried down the steps and ran off the stage. The boys stopped playing then and walked off as well, and the lights were turned off. I have no precise words to describe this moment, but PURE INSANITY sounds like it could do it justice. People were going crazy; we didn’t know what was going on. Everyone’s first thought was that something was wrong with Bill, since he was the first to get off stage. We literally thought something happened to him that he had to cut off his performance in the middle of the song. People were crying; there was some chick standing next to my sis and I who was literally losing it! She knelt down on the floor and cried inconsolably. It wasn’t until staff got on stage that we found out what happened. They began asking people to retreat a few steps because the ones in the front were being crushed against the fence. More staff came on stage and began throwing out water to people in the pit because a lot were suffocating and they couldn’t get them all out. People didn’t want to move at first (they literally had to ask people FOUR times to move back,) so everyone else in the venue started chanting “un paso atrás!” (one step back) to persuade people to cooperate and allow the show to continue. Finally, after around 15 minutes, the boys came back onstage and the concert was resumed.
All in all, it was a GREAT night. The guys put out an amazing performance and it was definitely one for the books. I’m pretty sure they will NEVER forget that night, and neither will us. I went through that entire day with about an hour of sleep on me, and I didn’t eat much either during the day (the excitement wouldn’t let me xD) but I was still on an adrenaline rush through the entire concert! It wasn’t till we walked out of the venue that I realized how much my feet hurt, how thirsty and tired I was. I thought none of us would sleep on our way back home after the show due to the excitement, but all of us simply got back on the bus, shared a few stories for about 15 minutes, and after that everyone passed out in their seats; we were completely exhausted.
Some random stories:
- The girl sitting next to us on the bus told us there was some man around his 50’s next to her singing along to ALL the songs, I thought that was soo cute xD
-My sis and I saw panties FLY during DSOTS lmfaooooo xD some chicks a few rows ahead of us threw them; they definitely looked like thongs, too! HAHAHA.
-Some of the people who were in the bus with us got to be front row!!! I’m happy at least some of us got to see the boys up close.
-There were a lot of rumors going around that a Mexican band called PANDA was going to open for TH; later on people said Belinda (Mexican singer) was going to open; I’m glad neither did. Rumors about Tom’s left egg making it to the show were also floating around, but alas, there was no egg on the stage.
-The amount of people pulled out from the crowd during the entire night runs in the HUNDREDS. Everywhere I looked I saw people being pulled out. Before the show even started I calculate AT LEAST 100 people were helped out of the pit. A man next to us asked one of the security guys who worked at Palacio if every concert was THAT crazy; he said the Rammstein concert doesn’t even come close.
-All of us in the bus agreed that Mexico had to be the place with the most FANBOYS. There was at least 1 guy for every 4 girls at that show! The audience wasn’t as young as I expected, either; mostly young adults and teens, but there definitely were a lot of older people in there.
-Gustav didn’t do his dynamics at the end of the show =( I was really saddened by that! I wanted to be part of it, and apparently so did a lot of people, for we lingered a little once the show ended, and you could still even hear people screaming, but Gustav never came out. The lights were turned on and we had no choice but to leave =(
Sorry about the REAALLYYY long review, but it was my first TH concert ever and I just had a lot of things to say xD. I’m currently wishing I could re-live that night, but no post concert depression as of yet haha. I didn’t lose my voice, thank goodness! Though I did sound a little raspy after the show and during the next day. HOWEVER, my entire body was aching for the following 2 days! Especially my arms; I felt as if someone used me as a punching sack! My arms were really sore, every time I touched them and felt as if I were poking bruises. I also have a scratch in one of them and have no idea how it got there. I’m feeling loads better now, but both my sister and I couldn’t laugh, cough, or sneeze without wincing from the pain in our bellies, as if we were sore from exercise or something… and we didn’t even stay in the pit long enough for the concert to even START. I can’t imagine how other people are doing, especially the ones who were being crushed in the front. I heard some chick sprained her ankle in there; one of the girls who was in my bus knows her and said she messaged her coming out of the hospital with her brand new plaster cast. Crazy sh*t HAHA.
I'm currently uploading videos on youtube, so please bear with me. I didn't have an account so I had to open one.
EDIT: videos are up! I really want to apologize for them being so incredibly crappy and shaky. When I was in the back of the pit leaning against the fence I couldn't put my arms down for a while, and thanks to that my arms would shake every time I held up my camera. Also, I didn't really record songs, because I like to ENJOY those thoroughly, so this is mostly breaks in between them.
