Hopefully they'll continue along the style of Humanoid with a more electronic sound rather than their more pop-rock Schrei/Scream genre :)

I think there should be ONE CD with a mix of German and English songs. I'm sick of translations that are not really translations. Before anyone jumps down my throat, I know it's nearly impossible to get a translation exact... Sooo, they should just cut that all together and have some songs in English and some songs in German. That would be amazing to me.
And also, I like the electronic sound as well. As long as they don't get to poppy, I'm good.

I second that no "translations" idea! Then bill doesnt have a reason to gripe about working twice as hard as the rest of the band!!

Yeah idk if it will happen though producing bilingual album in the US probably wouldn't do the sales justice...it would work every where else though in my opion, oh America sometimes I wonder If the guys have just given up on us :'(

I would like that, but I could see many people whining about wanting a certain English song to have a German version or vice versa.
I kinda torn here. I really only want them to do a German album, but it wouldn't sell well in the US or in some other countries. I think the English albums/songs really helped them go international. I just don't know.
Well I guess if Bill wants to go through that chaos for a third time, he's more than welcome to. I just hope that wouldn't mean the album(s) aren't released until 2013. ...when we may not exist. :???: Heh jk but I could see that happening though. It probably takes forever to translate and record.
As long as they still continue to do German songs, I'm happy.

I once said that, though I remember that in an interview Tom very specifically that he doesn't like when bands do that. Of course, he also said that he doesn't like theme albums.

Agreed.

I don't agree that this would happen. How many people are whining for an English version of Reden or a German version of H&S? Besides, there will always be whiners. You can't please everyone.

I don't agree with this either. Schrei sold two million copies worldwide. People all over the world are learning German for TH, not clamoring for English songs. Conquering America is not about what language they sing in, but proper promotion.

idc all English or all German. As long as they release something then I'll be fine. If them doing songs both in English and German is making the process longer then I don't see why they can't just do a mixture of both.
I'm not gonna whine about it. I know they will probably continue with the same process like the other album. I guess to gain newer fans.
Going back down memory lane, the reason why I got interested in them was because of the fact that they sang in German and were German. yes I got hooked because of the song RSG, but that could've been the only song that I liked, and I wouldn't have been the fan that I am today if I didn't look up more songs like DDM and Spring Nicht. I think I knew they were German because of Wikipedia, but still the point is that what attracted me to them. I think most fans would say the same exact thing.
Anyways. Whatever floats their boat will be fine with me.

Right, this is an important consideration. I question whether doing two sets of the same album is time and cost effective.

Personally I would prefer it if they did go back to the sound of their earlier years for most of the songs. I mean, they could have some electronic like sounds, but I would like it to be less.
But like it matters, I'm sure I'll listen to it no matter what.

IMHO, at this point I don't know if they are even cabable of doing an album, which would make me turn my back on them.
However this German vs. English will be an interesting question. I don't know if they have the courage to break the previous rules and try something new with the language. I would go for German album any second, but I understand that they want to secure the international interest with English - or just simply: because they like to do it in English?
I think German can work all over the world. It has also advantages: it is definitely a plus side when thinking of exotic touch of the band. But will German gain the interest in a first place? It COULD work, though. Hard to say. Abandoning German completely would be a huge mistake.
Maybe a mixed album would be a good idea?

Yes I thought it was costy to all of that. Then again I don't' know. Maybe it's not.
Either way. 6 songs in German and 6 songs in English would do the trick. Only if the songs aren't like Automatic/ Automatisch. That'd be evil. XD. So technically it'd be 6 songs.

Oh yes, agreed very much. IMO, Humanoid is the best album so far from them. The lyrics are more mature, the sound is better, plus practically every song (from any artist) has somewhat electronic sound in it these days. But that´s only my opinion...
And the idea of an album mixed with English and German would be probably the best idea.
Anyway, I´m waiting (:

Not trying to be off topic, because I am very interested in what will come next, but somewhere on this forum I read that the translations of songs when they go from German to English aren't really translated accurately..Because I don't speak German, could someone post examples of where the text doesn't line up...
I think if I knew how the 2 versions was before, I could make a better guess as to what they may do on their next time..
AND if I were to speculate on who they did a ballad with, a big ole school love ballad, I would love them to collaborate with Christina Aguilera..
(no bashing, I am thinking of her "dirty years")
ANd they also need to collaborate with Duran Duran, and maybe even a team up with SEAL...Picture it, imagine it..All 3 could work.
AND as for a cover song, they could do a remake of Madonna's Love DOn't Live Here Anymore...

On Scream they tried to do literal translations, but on Humanoid they didn't. Here's a site with all the lyrics in the original language and translated: http://lyricstranslate.com/en/Tokio-Hotel-lyrics.html

Thanks Vanessa,.,
From what I started to read, even some of the ones that are translated well have different tones to them..
SO on that, I think they will move away from the Futuristic thing and move toward a more brooding sound..
Sort of a reflective sound more personal to them..

Yes, very much so. I think the original German lyrics are generally deeper, more meaningful, and more emotional.

I think it would be better if they did one German/one English or a German/English mix. The first two songs I'd ever heard by Tokio Hotel was 'By Your Side' and 'Automatic' the English versions....so, I mean while I love their songs in German and quite honestly better sometimes than their English equivalents...I find the fact that they sing in both English and German adds to their uniqueness. Anyone could sing in just English and anyone could sing in just German.

Ja. But I think Vergessene Kinder/Forgotten Children were almost perfect. I was like whoa. Just a bit of a difference, but still close enough. Both songs have so much meaning to it.
Hold on. I think I might be confusing the songs, with some other songs but you get my drift. XD.

I would wish for old sound with a touch of new sound. I love Humanoid, but it was the old sound that got me hooked. And I´m not really much for electronic musik, depending on the song of course. But the old sound with some electronic in it would be great :)
Monsoon was the first song I heard, and at first I liked the English songs more simply because then I understood what he sang, but then I learned to like the German songs more.
German/English mix maybe could work, but then it has to be German songs and English songs that has nothing to do with each other, cause otherwise it woud really be only 6 songs, or whatever.

I would love the new album to be rock like full on. Now pop no synth no electronic just hard rock but I'm not even sure they are capable of that. Not as an insult but I mean I don't think that's their style. My favorite album was Zimmer so if the new one is like that, I'll be in my glory lol. I did LOVE Humanoid though so if it's like that I'll still be happy lol. I kinda like the German version and English version idea but yes I understand what everyone is saying about the no translation thing. When it comes to that I really don't care either way, I'm more interested in the sound of the songs.

If the new album had the old sound-feeling of zimmer more so than humanoid I would see that as ideal but sadly that isnt really a direction I see the band going in...they're
New stuff is good but the problem is the norm theSe days seems to be going more towards electronic sound...their music just doesn't seem as original to me as it used to

I loved Schrei, but after a while the sound just gets old and irritating. Once in a while I'll catch myself listening to "Ich bin nich ich" or "Gegen meinen Willen"... Zimmer 483 was an amazing album, with my favorite being "Wir Sterben Niemals Aus". That had so much feeling in it. It's one of my absolute faves. But Humanoid is hands down (in my opinion) the best. Electronic/Alternative/Pop is right in my alley, so I quite enjoyed the sound of this album.
BUT, I would really appreciate hearing some hard rock from them. That would be pretty epic. Maybe not the entire album, one 2 or 3 songs... epic.

I think all die-hard fans are overly emotional. I was a nervous wreck during the Afghan nonsense, and a jittery bag of nerves while waiting for Humanoid to be released. It took every ounce of will power to not listen to the leaked songs (which I failed horribly. Sigh... I lasted like 3 days), and I was bouncing up and down like a kid on happy crack while waiting for Hurricanes and Suns to be played on that Greek radio station. Oi! I love Zimmer/Scream/Schrei, but it didn't have the creativity like Humanoid did. Humanoid had so many different elements in the songs that will never leave you bored. You know. When I listen to Zimmer/Schrei/Scream, I love the overall songs and etc. but Humanoid just offers me more to take in. Forget the lyrics, and etc. The whole package has to fall into place, and Humanoid did it for me. To put it in simpler terms, I like Humanoid better and I wasn't even big on the electronic sounds. Maybe that's why I like it because it was different.
Amdee
December 27th, 2010, 07:07 AM
I think Humanoid showed us definitely musically more developed band. It's not my exact fave type of music, but I appriciate the diversity and development the band shows on it. The problem (for me?) was somew kind of undefined lack of energy, power and presense. Humanoid had great songs, but some were little bit.... flat. Like they forgot the main point in all that electronic excitement.
However, I see Tokio Hotel taking more steps away from the simple pop-rock'ish sound they had when they were younger. I don't know what will be the direction, but I don't think we will see another Zimmer again. Mostly I "blame" the growing up of the boys. Come on, how many of us change our likes, preferencies and taste during the 5 years? Yes, I thought so.
But then again... We have heard NOTHING new from them for over a year. H&S was only a remnant of Humanoid-era and means nothjing when it comes to future direction. They can surprise.
All in all: I think Tokio Hotel's musical direction is decided mostly by twins musical (and other) ambitions in life.
(Unfortunately?) it means that L.A will be shown on a new album's sound, atmosphere and/or theme, I firmly believe so. I'm not unconditionally excited about it, TBH.
CrazyBlond
December 27th, 2010, 08:45 AM
I don´t think they´ll go back to their roots either. They need (and want) to grow musically.
I actually hope the twins´life in L.A will show on the album. I think it´ll show us more what thet think about all that and it´d be a nice change between all those sad love songs :] (I´m not saying all TH songs are sad love songs, but most of them are)
Amdee
December 27th, 2010, 08:52 AM
I understand what you mean and I partly agree, but I also fear that L.A could breing some shallowness there, when I wish to see the band going deeper, maybe even darker, more challenging way. I could be stereotyping here, but I feel like L.A could bring this brainless poppish sound to it, which is not what I want from TH. I can listen to Kesha or others when I want that.
CrazyBlond
December 27th, 2010, 09:13 AM
We´ll let´s hope L.A won´t bring more popish sound to the new album, altough they ARE already pop/rock band. I just think they don´t need more pop to the sound.
I think Pink´s Don´t Let Me Get Me is a little relevant here haha.

In a certain sense, Bill wants to be Steven Tyler when he grows up. That means they have to make classic stadium or hard rock, which the Matrix-produced songs on Humanoid pretty much sound like. Stadium/hard rock is a fairly rare sound these days, but I think it appeals to people of all ages and genders, so it would be smart if they went that route.
My favorite of the Matrix songs is Träumer, which is more a blend of rock and electronic sounds and that would work too. The electropop sound of the rest of the Humanoid songs is a bit too lightweight.
(I think Träumer is a bit similar to H&S. To anyone who has the Best Of CD: does it say who produced H&S?)

From what I understand: Producers are the people who are paying for everything, so they're the bosses. Since T&B put their own money into Humanoid they're credited as co-producers, and it gives them more control over it.
Mixing is when you take all the different tracks and make some of them louder or softer, add effects, etc. On a much smaller scale it's like how on a stereo you can adjust the bass and the treble.

Eh to be honest, I don't really like the sound of the "Schrei" days. I mean, it's not bad at all (I found it to be very original and genius) but I think it's too "teenage angst" for the guys now. Back then it was more about getting emotions out, getting the music out, and most importantly being heard. Now the guys are more mature; I'm not saying that they shouldn't write about issues in their every-day life but they should be more mature about it which they have been (Humanoid).
Yes, there should be ballads and love songs in the new album but I personally like the new sound of Suns and Hurricanes--it's more upbeat but still has a rock/original/Tokio Hotel feel. I mean, they can't be depressed and upset ALL of the time-they are human they do feel more than pain. Some love songs with a more positive/hopeful ending would be nice as opposed to some of the woeful sounds that have popped out in the past.
Oh, and maybe some "We're awesome-you wish you were us" songs would be fun. I liked that feel in Darkside of the Sun. Yes, there is other meanings in it but I liked the lyrics:
"On the TV
in your face
on radio...
...We are, we are, we are
Radio hysteria!"
And Hey You's:
"Come on, you can look at me
I don't need to fit in..."
I love it. I will admit though TH songs usually follow this format. It's either:
1.) Talking about being lost/in pain/depressed
2.) The "Where are you? I need to find you!" message.
3.) I'm different/We stand out/we're awesome/make some kind of noise and be different.
Not that I don't enjoy these types of subject matter (afterall, I write about that stuff in my poetry) but would be nice to have them write a song about how good they felt when a relationship was going right. Like sparks flying, "wow, you're so beautiful," happy-love-y-dovey stuff. Sure they may not have found "True Love" yet but that puppy love stage still feels pretty strong.
And what about dreams and goals that they have outside of the band? Or maybe just their (literal) dreams? If people could see half of the freaky-scary/wonderful and happy dreams I've had I could be the best song writer ever ;). They could sing about the freedom they feel from music, the rush they feel on stage, the nervous energy beforehand. Or Bill could write about the "Hovercraft vs. Alligator vs. Bill's fist (aka Chuck Norris style) dream.

I love love love Humanoid! It's an incredible album, and I never tire of listening to it. I don't quite understand it when fans say TH haven't progressed musically, and that Tom only knows/plays three chords, etc. I'm not exactly qualified to make statements on their musical ability, but IMO they have come on leaps and bounds since Schrei.
I hope that the next album will be as great as Humanoid!

idk i liked the sound of Schrei and Zimmer 483. i mean they were kids and thats what kids think about. i think the pop-rock stuff is really good it works for a lot of people and Tokio Hotel is one of them.
Humanoid was great too. ive always liked the futuristic/robot/andorid thing and i thought it was awesome that my favorite band did that with their album. i did find that when i looked up the exact english translations for the German songs that they were more futuristic than the english ones. im not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing. i liked both but i just thought it was weird how they completly changed the songs like on Hey You/Hey Du.
i think maybe they should combine both of their past sounds onto one album. it would be pretty cool to see how the Scheri sond would sound now that theyre all grown up. idk it doesnt really matter to me as long as its great. i just hope they dont end up like Cinema Bizarre. I was torn up when i heard about them and i dont think the world could handle it if we lost Tokio Hotel.

I would love the new album to be rock like full on. Now pop, no synth, no electronic, just hard rock...
Agreed! Even if they only wrote a few hard rock songs, it would be incredibly awesome. I don't know if it will ever happen, but I am still hoping that they will write at least one epic hard rock anthem someday. 8-)
With that in mind, I'd love to see more instrumental solos - guitar, drums, piano, etc. The musical experimentation was one of the things I loved about Humanoid and I hope to see more of that in the future.
As for the "no translations" idea, I may be the only person who feels this way, but I like having multiple versions of the same songs. I love their songs in both languages and I would miss all the different versions if they only made one album with no translations.

I don't care what it sounds like as long as they make it their own.
Horrible example cause they've broken up, but Patd's second album was a complete 180 from their first but it was genius and original, yet it still had the patd trademark.

I think the change is natural, so we just haver to wait and see, but defnitely we are not going to get exactly the same what we have gotten so far. Somehow I think TH has moved towards more sopisticated, more experimenting direction.
I wonder how much (if any) twins has had to do with it since they obviously were in bigger role on Humanoid than any of the previous albums?
I''m a bit torn between two opinions here: either TH's music is/will be kind of easy, catchy music for the masses (which means possibilities for greater audiences), but then on the other hand I think that they take experimenting on a next level and TH will be (like Humanoid already started it) a bit challenging, a bit on the marginal existing music. I'm not sure which direction would be better.

I liked schrei/zimmer/humanoid a lot, all of them. But i most enjoyed Zimmer because it contains so much things that i can relate to, understand and therefore feel. I think humanoid got a bit to much complicated for me and schrei was a bit to simple. I also love the way zimmer always make me smile, feel happy when i listen to songs like reden, wir sterben niemals aus and more.I wish they will do a zimmer inspired album with a mixture of German and English songs. I would like it to sound like Humanoid, but that sentence "Our fans will be shocked for the new style" scares me a little... >_> I hope they are not changing drastically their style xDDD
To tell the truth I don't care about the language, but reading Humanoid songs in german and in english I found a lot of differences between them... I don't know why they didn't translate them literally because some of them lost sense in english (or I can't find the sense in some sentences), while the german ones are perfect and more touching...

If the new sound will schock us... I don´t know what I think about that.... I hope they don´t do something too drastically. I don´t think they can afford that. Mabe they could do something more hard rock...? I still can´t help but wish for a mix of old sound and new sound. I really like the sound on Zimmer 483. Of course they need to be able to change if that´s what they want, I just hope they don´t change too much.
But a new album in September sounds good to me. But I think a tour in November sounds a little to close to the album release. I mean, of course fans would want to go to the concert, but some fans will probably want the album first and see what they feel about it.

Well I'm hoping for a mix of the old and new sound.
I like the style of Humanoid, it was awshumm for them to try it.
And it worked out amazingly. With that being saidd
I hope theyy dont start to sound too much like other bands althoguh it hard to see that happening..
If they go on tour again in the near future i hope they come to the midwest of the US
or even canada that way i can go haaha

They said they may do a collaboration for the last album..Didn't happen.
I read that Coldplay had several songs that they started, but couldn't work out and then for their next album, they worked on them and recorded them..I only say the boyz will used "Previously recorded" songs because they got out their 2 new tracks without working too long in the studio.( they were basically recycled!) Way to be Green boys!!!!
I am hoping for more of their OLD style. You know the surfer/SKa style..
Although, I am loving them so much lately, I can find JOY in anything they do!

Only thing I feel sad about is that it will all be BillBillBillBill and NOTHING of the other guys.

January 16th, 2011, 02:45 PM
I don't see why they couldn't do anything if they didn't want to though.
Sure we may hear BILLBILLBILLBILLBILL etc but Bill hasn't locked the other guys in a basement and forced them to not do anything. He's just out there, doing different stuff and so more power to him. I'm sure if the G's wanted to get on a little project they'd be welcome to, and it'd be more on the low since they aren't stalked as much, apparently. Bill doesn't control the group, even if his pretty mind may think so, although I doubt it.
So I find it unfair how Bill is called for like that, when it's his choice to get involved in other stuff and hey how many times do we see people from bands being borrowed for other artist songs. Nothing unusual.
Amdee
January 16th, 2011, 03:28 PM
No, no, it's not about Bill intentionally overruning anyone or that others are not allowed to do things.
It's just my personal opinion that I would love to see the others as well, because for me seeing only Bill is not exciting enough to carry on the whole year - as much as I like him. My personal interest is to see the others too and since it will mostly likely not happen it pulls me down a bit. Nobody was accusing anyone of it.
But I don't think it can be overlookede either that in fact Bill is so dominant character in this band that the others can't really compare with it even if they'd want to (which I doubt). You may call it charisma or whatever. I also think in general that it is unrealistic to say that all the four members stand on a same line when it comes to possibilities. Can it be voiced out?

Bill just has the interest to do this kind of stuff. And even if some are scared because he does it, on the other hand, it's also healthy to do something other than your job.

January 16th, 2011, 03:56 PM
I can get their point of view, but I don't consider Bill's projects to be something that is band related. If that makes sense. A project on the side that involved the band as a whole, would that be better perhaps for our fickle fans who need pleasing? Is it because the said person would approach Bill and not the others? Say "hey we need Bill to sing in our song but we don't need you so sod off"? I don't think that's quite how it works although that also depends on who asks. :P

So taking it back to the new album, I'm just going to let myself be surprised again. Humanoid was a pleasant surprise and I ended up liking every single friggin song. ALTHOUGH, I wish they'd go a tad bit heavier. Last time reviewers started saying Humanoid was heavier than their previous albums, which was NOT the case. I wasn't disappointed by how it turned out in the least, but I was just like "um, what?" recalling thow reviewers as I listened to the album for the first time.
What did kinda sorta leave me disappointed, was the fact they decided to play "Humanoid" as an acoustic during the tours. That song was one, if not the heaviest in the album. I was so looking forward to watching them rock the heck out of the stage with it, but there you go. That really left me wondering how TH really feel about playing heavier tunes overall. It seems like it's just not their thing. I dunno, sometime's I'm left off feeling like they're scared of mind blowing guitar and drum solos. I have no doubt that they could do it, but why they're not doing it, I don't know.

Wise words, my friend.
I honestly don't think they want to go too heavy (anymore). I think fans want it more than the band. And it's a tricky situation.
The directiuon they wiull take musically will be interesting, but as I've said, I don't think we'll get a new Zimmer. It just doesn't feel like something they'd want to do.
Also agree with solos.
Is it stupid to sayu that sometimes I feel like the band is both very confident and not at the same time? I feel like they are growing, changing so much, because they are changing so fast themselves. At that age it happens, it is natural. What was natural 4 years ago, is not nmecessarty "them" anymore at all now.

I actually love the acoustic version, and I used to like it much better than the original version.
I liked it, too, but not more than the original. I wouldn't have minded so much if they'd at least played the original version live ONCE.
And yeah, as much as I like their older stuff, I don't think they'd go back to it. I'm fine, though, because I like it when bands evolve and don't just sound the same every single album. As I've said, I've liked the way they've changed a lot, but I feel like they're not juicing their talent for all it's worth, if you know what I mean. I feel as if they experiment but at the same time not too much, staying on the safe side. I'd like to see a bit more from them musically, because I know they can do it, but we'll see.

Ditto, it was a disappointment to me too. But maybe they couldn't duplicate the effects from the album?

Agreed again. I think that if they went heavier and sexier (in the vein of H&S) they would kill. There are a few lines sprinkled here in there in each of the albums where Bill really hits the lines hard and it's incredible. There aren't really any new straight-up rock bands these days. If TH could move into that niche they'd have no competition.

They started working on Humanoid on the later half of 2008 and it was released September 2009. It took around a year from them. I assume we can expect at least that to be used on a next album, so I doubt we are going to hear anything on September. Early 2012 is very possible, though?
I'm still curious of the random tweet from CTR on January (?) that twins are going to studio to write and record that day. How much they have actually worked on a new album? If any?
There have been some rumors of September, but there is no real, reliable source to that. Just a random tabloid magazine article (I think). The boys themselves have said that ity could take a year or five years, depending on how the inspiration comes.
VanessaM
April 16th, 2011, 08:52 PM
You know what I think part of the problem is? That Humanoid was a theme album, so it's like they've forgotten that most albums are a collection of songs that aren't centered around a central theme. If they record 12, 13, 14, 15, whatever number of songs, as long as there's some cohesiveness to the sound, it doesn't matter if there's no central inspiration.

Five years....that better not be true
I guess, inspiration has it's lengths.....

I didn't read through all of the threads on this topic, so I apologize in advance if these points were already brought up. --- Don't they have tons of songs that they've made but haven't released as yet? Even then, doesn't Bill always talk about writing songs continuously and them drawing inspiration from ALL of their experiences as they happen? And they make up stuff on tour, Bill carries a pen, laptop, recorder, etc. with him all the time? I would think they have a few songs already floating around to throw on this next baby if they still like them enough. Not everything gets released all the time. Also, stuff like Automatic might happen where they just create a song super fast, end up totally falling in love with it, and end up throwing it on the new album too.

I have read that Bill and Tom write very little. I read on another board that the boys have ideas but the actual lyrics are not solely their own..And Vanessa, you are so right about the thematic nature of Humanoid..
I think many artist write songs that don't make it onto their albums. Don't know if TH do that..I just wish the band would reach out through Twitter or Facebook with something real...Like a photo or video of what's happening in their life right now.

According to the boys, they had ~ 50 songs written/recorded for Humanoid in which they chose from.

I'll take the songs they didn't release.
The bonus tracks were my favorites from Humanoid! They are probably sitting on some amazing songs. Frustrating!

From InRock #329 interview...
Q: So, what kind of challenges are you taking on, what sound are you trying to create?
Tom: That’s a surprise we’re keeping for the release of the next album. In the first place, we are creating something different everyday. We listen to various kinds of music, and are inspired by different things so it really depends on the mood at each point in time. We’re doing this everyday and everyday is a new day.
Bill: That’s right. That’s why we don’t have a definitive sound for the next album.
Q: What kind of music inspires you?
Tom: Its not just music actually. For now I really like the older works by Anthony Hamilton.
Bill: We are also inspired by movies and what’s happening around us. Everyday life in a place like LA is very refreshing and therefore inspiring. Just being able to wake up each morning is also an inspiration. But I would say movies play a bigger part. We really like movies. We do go to the theatres or we watch one from our 1000+ dvd collection in our home theater.
I know, I know, Tom didn't say THAT, but to me he seems to be very fund of soul and R'n'B right now. Anthony Hamilton is VERY MUCH those two, very nice soul'ish sound. It gives me an interesting thought of what if next TH will be more inspired by soul/R'n'B? It would be crazy and far fetched, but interesting mnd game if Tom really starts to bring those elements to TH's music. I dubt they'll ever go stricktly there, but influences perhaps?

I am not sure where I read it..It was definately on a board though..
It also sort of slammed tom for not having too much talent guitar wise..
And gave LOADS of credit to a writing team was lead by Jost..
I haven't ever heard the boys speak in a way that led me to think of them as poetic, but that may be because of English being their second language..

So, speculation not an actualy source.

I get sick of hearing that. He does have talent, the music is what it is because that is what they play, not because he can't do something differently. *edit* I didn't mean that nasty towards you, I meant the people who say it, sorry!
And gave LOADS of credit to a writing team was lead by Jost..
again, speculation not source if it was on a message board.
I haven't ever heard the boys speak in a way that led me to think of them as poetic, but that may be because of English being their second language..
Yes, speaking a different language is part of it. Also the joking around sometimes hides the intelligence they have, however they are witty because they are creative.

That is also true. The way one speaks doesn't always equate the way one expresses themselves in writing and/or other creative means.
I've met people that may talk about fancy theories and big words and Dostoyevski (sorry can't spell the name in English) but they are utter A-holes, and there are also people who are more "casual" and they seem like airheads but despite that there is actual essence and soul in their art.

You guys are right, I don't have a solid source, and I have no idea about how they write. And the TomTalent thing has always bothered me too.
In college I had to work/volunteer at an art opening. To me, the paintings looked like lines, squares, shapes...So I said, "This isn't so great. I could do this.." and my fine arts professor said, "Yes my dear, maybe you could. But the art of this is that, IF you did do this NO ONE would care."
So maybe others could do what Tom does, but really, who would care? The art of his/the band's work is that it is interesting enough that we all care about it..

i agree... Tom being inspired by his own passion... nowadays music has evolved so much that the line between rock and hip hop or rap and ballads have been blurred out.. with the emergence of artist who are brave enough to experiment their music artistry.. i think that is what TH could be considering now, a mix of some elements to their rock genre, it really is very interesting.. not to mean that the entire album would be a mix but i wont mind for maybe a few tracks
anthony hamilton sounds so soulful to me, i imagine Tom laying back listening to him

They need to add some inspiration from Oingo Boingo and Meat Loaf. OMG they could get some good stuff from that!

All's pretty silent and so far no news about the album... I honestly have no idea 'bout when it could be ready, really can't foresee anything, but what I care of at the moment is that the guys are fine take all the time they need and don't feel any pressure on them... rushing would be bad, and I think it's also our duty as fans, to avoid that and just wait with patience.

Why, oh why people keep repeating that stupid Dark Anthem-rumor? It popped up, because someone posted an article from the time when they did HUMANOID. HUMANOID, people! My head hurts, because now somehow everyone is convinced that Th's next album might be called Dark Anthem, because... really... Matrix said that they have dark, anthemic sound on their upcoming album, when they were making Humanoid. I don't know, I can't even...

It's not going to die until the real name of the album is introduced. I have never seen this amount of false information and rumors as I have with Tokio Hotel. It's unbelievable. I mean NOTHING can be taken seriously. What is the most fascinating is that this rumor was debunked almost immediately with the old article and yet it has continued to grow. People aren't looking for the name of the album to be true, they just want something, anything to make it look like progress is being made.
This is why it is important for the band to not disappear completely and to keep fans slightly updated. If you don't provide information, fans will provide it for you... and obviously then it isn't honest information. Hopefully the upcoming Russia performance and voting and awards in Japan will keep fans a little more occupied, but with this fandom I doubt that's enough.

You are absolutely right. Anything is more than nothing and since the band offers absolutely nothing at the moment - especuially what comes to new album - the fandom isd impatient and wanting to get something, anything to confirm. I guess it's uinderstandable and inevitable.
And yes, Tokio Hotel is one of a kind when it comes to passion with the fandom - both in good and in bad.
