WARNING photo hosting sites full of viruses

Hello,

We have gotten many warnings from users that they are getting malware on their computers from another image hosting site.

As you may know, the site that ends in *bam* has already been blocked.

Now we are also blocking image.shack.

Safe sites.
Other recommended sites as seen from other forum admins.

Or is it just when you try to upload new ones they just won't work?

They will not be allowed on the site (THA). They wont know if they are new or old so all are banned. The site itself is not blocked I think.

Not here, on the fanclub forum. I saw their warning and I thought it might be a good idea to alert other people.

I sort of thought that this went without saying. Any time you find something free on the internet, you're taking your computer safety into your own hands. Heck, I've even gotten trojan warnings from the 'safe' sites, photobucket in particular. *pets virus protection software for catching that*

Yes, some sites are worse than others and some are better. Just be careful about where you go and be sure that your virus protection is on, up to date, and a decent program and you SHOULD be okay. Just remember that virus scanners are like condoms, they only work if you use them properly, and even then they aren't 100%.

Also, as Mollie, said, we AREN'T THA. We're not blocking sites. And any image that you put up that's an actual image and not a link is going to show as an image. Images on this site aren't going to be all virus laden because it's the image HOST site that's the problem, not the picture itself. So as long as you aren't linking out images, everything is dandy.

So, everybody, deep breath in, hooooooold it, let it out and relax.
