View Full Version : You Can't Say That on the Forum!

As we all know, there's a fair handful of words that the forum's server just doesn't like, and if you use one of those words in a post, you get a nasty little forbidden error. So, in hopes of helping everyone be able to post to their heart's content, we're going to try to compile as many of those words as we can find in this thread.
'But wait!' you say. 'If we can't post them, then how are we supposed to post them here?'
Good question, clever forumling! You can either jam a bunch of .'s in there l.ik.e thi.s, or you can tap them out in an image and post that instead. Whatever it takes to get them on the map.
So go forth, find words the forum gets snarky about, and post away for the good of your fellow forumlings!

But, the forum didn't let me post once cause I had the word "Japanese" in a paragraph.
It does trick out over harmless words sometimes...
well you can't say f*ck, or sh*t, or d*mn or wh*re or sl*t or b*tch or d*ck.

A lot of the words it has problems with are harmless, weirdly enough. There for awhile a certain blonde socialite's name was enough to get you an error. Very weird.
As for the others, folks shouldn't be saying those on the forum anyway, as their part of the swear filtered words.

Paris Hilton
Edit: Just thought I'd see if it was still forbidden. And it's not!

viagra

Edit: I always thought viagra was forbidden so I've always starred it out... :???: The forum moves in mysterious ways.

It's actually really weird how many of these words it doesn't seem to want to care about right now. One time I was talking about some TH videos I'd been watching, and it wouldn't let me post because of the word 'videos'.

A thread for cursing? My brain's a little fizzy; do I just post it here? I tried saying "Gu****aru" as a Japanese name suggestion for Gustav (but then we found another). :?
ETA: Wow, that's awkward. :shock1:

Do you mean if there's an unintentional curse word in middle of a word? Because if so, then yeah.
hajimema****e
Should be hajimemash/ite.

Totally not talking about cursing, because swear words are filtered out by a feature of the forum so they come through as **** instead of the word, but you can still post. I'm talking about the random words that make the posts not post at all.

Sometimes links will give this problem. There was a point where you couldn't post yfrog (IIRC) pix as links. Also, if you try to post too many links at once.

I got the multi links last night. Two photo thumbs and then it was all 'ha, no'.

Yeah, see, cause that's a swear word and we don't do swearing on the forum. This bit of forum isn't for swear words (we kind of already know about those, since I punched most of them in myself), but for words that make your post not go through. If it comes up as asterisks, that's purposeful.
