I had a dream about this fic and I figured the idea was too good to pass up...

What are you doing man? Why did you make a scene like that you idiot? Tom thought to himself as he ran after her.
"Lynn, wait, just please listen." Tom yelled after his best friend of six years.
"I don't want to hear it. I thought you were my friend." Lynn yelled back as she headed to her car, reaching into her purse for her keys.
"Lynn, listen to me, I'm not lying to you." Tom said as he grabbed her arm and turned her to face him.
"Ben would never cheat on me! Do you understand? He is a good guy, he goes to church for goodness sake!It really sucks that my best friend would deliberately try to hurt me. What the **** is wrong with you?" Lynn screamed at Tom
"Lynn, Bill and I both saw Ben at the movies with another girl and he was all over her! I'm just trying to protect you!" Tom said
"By lying to me?!" Lynn yelled.
"Look, there is something else that I have to tell you and since everything is coming out..." Tom said looking at the ground.
"What now are you going to tell me that Ben has AIDS too? What is-"
"Lynn I love you." Tom interjected.
"I have loved you since we met in the 7th grade and you are the most beautiful girl I have ever known. I-I...I love you." Tom said looking into her brown eyes.
"You're my brown-eyed girl." He said with a whisper of a laugh.
"You are RIDICULOUS!" Lynn yelled.
"You make me sick, what is wrong with you? You don't love me, Tom. You can't love anyone. All you do is date girls for two weeks and dump them! I don't like this new you...Just stay away from me!" Lynn said pulling her keys from her bag and crossing the street to her car. Her eyes were blurry, she couldn't see the lights coming at her.
"LYNN!!!!!!!" Tom screamed to the screech of tires and a sickening thud.

She couldn't feel her toes. She couldn't feel her fingers. She couldn't feel anything. All that was there was darkness pushing on her til she felt like she couldn't breathe. Lynn tried screaming for help, but no sound came. All she could do was think...

Oh God please help her...Lynn's mother, Rosemary prayed. Get her out of this, this thing! She grabbed a hold of Lynn's hand and kissed the top of it while tears streamed from her eyes. She whispered softly in Lynn's ear and told her that she loved her. She kissed the top of her daughter's head and left the hospital room to find her husband. Darrell stood at the vending machine looking pale with red-lined eyes.
"Honey, go home you need your sleep." he said to her.
"I will not leave her." Rosemary stated, her dark brown eyes fierce.
"Ok then at least try to sleep." Darrell pleaded with his wife.
"Fine, honey do you think she will be alright?" Rosemary looked up at him with tears welling.
" The doctor says she should come out of the coma, he just doesn't know how her condition will be when she does wake up."
Rosemary nodded her head solemnly and headed back into the room.

"Mom, Dad? Where am I?" Lynn thought to herself.
"How...what....?"
"Don't get hysterical Lynn, don't!" she told herself.
A soft voice came from out of the dark.
"Come back, Lynn, come back to us."It sounded like an angel from the darkness. She didn't recognize the soft beautiful voice, but she knew she had to take the advice.
She felt as if she were crying, but no sensation.
"What is wrong with me?"

Rosemary prepared a couple of chairs for herself and Darrell to sleep in.
"Like I will get sleep anyways..." she muttered to herself.
"How can I sleep when my daughter is laying in a coma?" she said.
She didn't notice the solitary tear roll down Lynn's seemingly peaceful cheek.

"Just move ******!" Lynn told herself.
She could feel the darkness start to rise, she was coming out of the stupor. She could her voices, murmurs of medicines and prayers. That one voice continued through the dark.
"Don't let this get you, Lynn. Come back to me." it said
"I will, I will." Lynn thought as the darkness lifted even more.
"Fight."

"Rosemary, Darrell, she moved her hand!!!!!!" Tom said staring down at their intertwined fingers in disbelief.
"ROSEMARY DARRELL!" he yelled as they came running in.
"She moved her hand, I felt it." Tom said as his eyes filled.
"She's doing it again! Look!" The two men gaped while Rosemary called for the doctor.
"Come on hun. You're doing it!" Tom said in Lynn's ear.

I just heard about poor Bill and I am really worried. He may come out of the surgery sounding different, it has happened to a few other bands that I have listened to before... I hope that isn't the case with them because I love them so much! I actually read on some random blog the other day that he actually collapsed and started crying because they had to cancel another show...
Just a thought I guess...Anyway I'm glad you guys like my story more to come in a few minutes...

All right you want it you got it the next installment of (drumroll please)... Stop Rewind

“AAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH LET GO!” Tom screamed.
“She’s pulling…my…hair OUCH!” he said as Rosemary tried to release Lynn’s kung-fu like grip while Darrell stood there laughing.
“Wow she is really trying to fight!” Darrell said over the pandemonium.
“Wait!”, everyone immediately grew silent, like the eye of a tornado,
“She’s fluttering her eyelids, look!” Rosemary pointed out. Darrell ran to get the doctor while Rosemary pulled a chair closer to Lynn’s bed and Tom resumed his earlier position, though taking a moment to tuck his dreds in the back of his shirt.
“How did that even happen?” Rosemary inquired.
“ I was just leaning my head down against her hand and telling her to come back to us when she just grabbed my dreds and pulled me down… Good God she is strong.” He said in wonder.
“I told you that you needed a haircut.” Rosemary plainly stated.
“That’s my girl.” Darrell replied as he strolled in with the doctor close behind him. The doctor immediately started checking Lynn’s vital signs. The family just silently waited for the doctor’s thoughts on her condition. Tom squeezed Lynn’s hand every so often to remind her that he was there.
“It looks like she may come out of the coma today, but I must warn you that she may have suffered some brain damage. Most likely some memory loss so let’s hope that she comes out okay.” the doctor reported and left the room.

“Who the **** are you?!” Lynn said in a raspy unused voice as she looked into the most beautiful golden brown eyes she had ever seen.
“Wha-…ROSEMARY DARRELL!” Tom yelled leaning in to look at Lynn even closer.
“I have seen you before… oh God, TOM!” she smiled. Tom couldn’t contain his happiness, the sound of his voice on her lips pushed him to lean in and tenderly kiss Lynn. Much to Lynn’s surprise, she kissed him back she was too happy to care. Wait! This is Tom!
“What are you doing?!” Lynn shrieked.
“What…oh…I…happy…awake…boyfriend…yea h.” Tom said awkwardly and ran to find Lynn’s parents. Lynn sat there looking confused as her parents ran in with tears streaming down their faces.
“Oh my baby… I love you so much.” Rosemary and Darrell said in unison.
“Guys…I can’t…breathe…air.” Lynn said through the hugs and kisses. She didn’t care, she was just happy to be out of the darkness.

“She has suffered some memory loss. I’m sorry to say this, but Lynn doesn’t remember anything that has happened this whole last year. It is like her senior year was just wiped out of her memory. It will be your job to slowly remind her what the last year was like for her, but be gentle, she cannot handle very much stress at once.” The doctor told Rosemary, Darrell, and Tom in a separate meeting room while Lynn rested.

“She’s awake.” Tom told his younger brother, Bill, somewhat bitterly.
“That’s great!” Bill’s smile faltered as he saw the look on Tom’s face. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“ She can’t remember anything of this whole last year and it’s all my fault.” Tom said fiercely.
“You can’t do this to yourself, man. It isn’t your fault, if anything it is that douche bag Ben’s.” Bill said.
“No it was me.” Tom said shaking his head.
“ At least she is still here.” Bill said turning around and walking down the hallway shaking his head.

“Tom, I want you to be the one to tell Lynn about Ben.” Rosemary said out of the blue.
“What? I can’t she will hate me again, don’t make me do this” Tom said in disbelief.
“Tom listen to me. This was not your fault, I have told you time and time again. So stop blaming yourself. You guys could have been laughing instead of fighting and she still would have walked in front of that car, it was an accident. Forget that whole thing with Ben.” she said as Tom’s head perked up, “He never came to visit her besides that one time and you have been here every day. Don’t put yourself through this.” Rosemary said.
“Ok, I’ll tell her.” Tom said absently, he had an idea blossoming in his head…

“You can’t erase a person from someone’s memory!” Bill said to his brother in disbelief. “You are crazy to even think that you could.” he added. Tom sat next to his brother as he gave him a ride to Lynn’s house. “Why not? All those memories were terrible anyways…” Tom stated, trying to prove his point.
“How do you know, those memories were probably the best ones that she has ever had. She LOVED Ben, Tom. You can’t take that away from her.” Bill said with his eyes on the road. He was always the voice of reason while Tom was the irrational twin.
“ He cheated on her, Bill, you were there you saw it! You didn’t have to tell her what happened. You didn’t see the look… the pain on her face when I told her…” Tom said looking down at his hands. “ Besides I can’t bring that guy back into her life just to let her get hurt again, it’s my job to protect her.” Bill sighed heavily, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to change Tom’s mind.
“ So how are you going to go about erasing Ben from Lynn’s life?” Bill asked. Tom shrugged and said, “ I figured I would go to her room and take down all the pictures, her journal entries, and everything else while she is still at the hospital. They started dating towards the beginning of senior year so she shouldn‘t have any memories of him anymore.” Bill just rolled his eyes though Tom saw it.
“ That guy was a punk and you know it! He didn’t come to visit her once and now he is running around with a bunch of other girls! I can’t see her get hurt again.” Tom pleaded with his brother.
“Fine, but I don’t wanna be there when the **** hits the fan ok?” Bill said pulling up to the front of Lynn’s house.
“Thanks man, I knew you’d understand.” Tom said as he got out of the car. He went inside the house and proceeded to cut Ben out of Lynn’s life, even more than the accident already had. As he stuffed all the couple’s momentos in a shoebox, he sighed to himself. She is so beautiful, he thought, and gazed at the many pictures of Lynn and Tom as they were growing up, especially the recent ones. She must have cared enough to put all of these pictures of us up instead of the few of her boyfriend, Tom thought trying to assure himself that his plan was going to work. All I want is for her to be happy whether with or without me. I just can’t let that scumbag cheat on her again, and I know he will. This is what’s best, Tom tried to convince himself.

“So you are my boyfriend now?” Lynn asked Tom after she surveyed the numerous pictures of them hanging in her room and thought about the lingering kiss in the hospital room.
“Ummm….I…well” Tom stammered as thoughts raced through his head, “Uh yeah I guess.” he answered finally, scratching the part of his head under his hat. If I’m gonna do it, I should at least go big…
Lynn eyed him suspiciously and shrugged. “Well this is going to take some getting used to, no offense, but I never thought of you as other than my best friend.” Lynn stated honestly. She looked at the defeated look on Tom’s face and added quickly, “Not that I don’t think you are attractive because I do, I just need to look at you in a different light now.”
“Well, it feels kind of brand new to me, too.” Tom replied honestly while biting his lip.
“You know if we are going to be together then I guess there is no holding back, huh? Then let me say it, I always thought that when you fiddled with your ring it was really hot.” Lynn said blushing intensely.
“ Oh really” Tom said, lifting an eyebrow and sticking his tongue out to mess with his lip ring even more.
“Now you’re just being obnoxious!” Lynn said with a laugh. She went to her kitchen and grabbed two cokes which Tom immediately helped with, to her pleasant surprise. They headed upstairs to her room to watch a movie. Luckily she had a futon so there was a couch ready for them as they watched “Hot Fuzz”.
“Man I love this movie,” Tom stated. He looked over at Lynn who was studying his face intently. “What?” he asked her slyly and she blushed as she realized that she had been caught staring.
“Oh, umm nothing.” Lynn said trying to turn her attention back to the movie. Wow, I am really seeing him in a different light. Lynn thought to herself. He is really cute…I never realized that he was good boyfriend potential. Lynn tried to shrug the feeling off, though she couldn’t deny how her heart skipped a beat when Tom caught her staring. That was the way that Lynn judged that she was really, really liked a boy. Whenever she saw them, her heart gave a little jump. Tom stretched his arm around her shoulders and she leaned in closer to him, while simultaneously placing her hand on his stomach. Oh man my heart is doing a little jig right now she thought.
The couple continued to watch the movie, although they had both already seen it at least seven times with each other. Tom realized that it had just come out this last year, it was like Lynn was watching it for the first time, he thought as his heart sank. Lynn noticed the obvious change in his mood and turned to gaze into his eyes. Man, those eyes, how come I never noticed before? Maybe something good did come out of the accident, I get to feel these emotions all over again, she thought not knowing that it actually was the first time she was feeling them.
“ Is something wrong?” Lynn asked Tom
“What? Oh no, its just that we have both seen this movie at least seven times and its just weird to realize that you don’t remember some of the good times.” Tom admitted
“Oh, well it’s like we get to start all over again, that’s ok with me. We get to make new memories right now.” Lynn said leaning in to his shoulder. Tom lifted her chin to look into her dark brown almost black eyes. He brought his head forward and brushed his lips against hers. He felt Lynn smile against his mouth and he deepened the kiss. He spread playful kisses across her jaw line, up her cheek, and ended it with a kiss on the forehead with a giggle from Lynn in response. God, I love this girl he thought to himself as he gazed into those eyes.
This just feels right Lynn thought, I was always comfortable with him, but things are just flowing so easily.

A few days later, Lynn was laying in bed, slowly falling asleep. She hadn’t been dreaming much lately, which was strange for her. She always seemed to report her strange and comical dreams to her friends daily. The day for her dreams to return came and there was nothing comical about them. She tossed and turned in her sleep and in her mind she kept seeing these images flashing. There were brilliant flashes of white and then the repeating of a haunting, but angelic voice saying, “Come back to me, Lynn.” In the dream, she was surrounded by a familiar darkness that compressed her lungs. Images of what she assumed was the memories that were erased from her mind after the accident. She woke up breathing heavily and sweating, but she could not remember the exact images. She called a groggy Tom and asked him to come over.
Lynn laid there staring at the ceiling when she heard her window slide open with a muffled grunt. Tom caught his foot on the windowsill and fell to the floor with an “oof”.
“Your feet are way too big” Lynn said a halfhearted laugh and then sobered. Tom was wearing a white t-shirt and briefs. She wasn’t too upset to notice his cute butt or the line of his usually hidden pecks against the thin shirt.
“How are you? What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Tom bombarded her with questions.
“I’m ok, I just keep having these dreams…I think they have to do with the accident.” Lynn said as Tom took her into his arms.
“Can we go outside? It’s too dark in here.” Lynn asked, reminded of the crushing darkness in her dream.
“Sure, whatever you need.” Tom said heading over to the window to go out on her roof. It seemed so easy and familiar, just like old times Lynn thought.
“I keep seeing these bright lights, which I assume are from the car, but I keep getting flashes of old memories, I guess, ones that I lost.” Lynn stated leaving out a specific part that she didn’t want to tell Tom.
“Wow. I can’t say that I can even begin to understand, but those things are in the past. You shouldn’t let them get you down, ok?” Tom said kissing Lynn softly.
“Thank you, you always know what to say.” Lynn smiled and Tom felt his heart turn into putty.
“That’s what I’m here for little lady.” He said in a fake Texan accent.
“Oh, my cowboy in shining…leather?!” Lynn said with a laugh.
“Ooo that sounds kind of good…” Tom said with a lift of his eyebrow. He grabbed Lynn by the waist and buried his head in her neck, nuzzling her skin while simultaneously tickling her.
“Stop Tom EEEEEEEEEEKKKK!” Lynn giggled trying to push Tom away. She started going after his ribs and then Tom was the one begging for Lynn to stop while his face flushed red.
“You know me too well.” Tom said when the tickling had ended. “Do you want me to hang around or do you think you will be ok?” Tom asked hopeful that she still needed him.
“I would like it if you would stay.” Lynn said shyly and went inside to get some extra blankets for him to crash on the floor. That was another thing Tom admired about Lynn. Her modesty, you didn’t see that in girls very often.
Lynn leaned over the edge of her bed to look at Tom and then closed her eyes. Tom grabbed her hand and held on while he closed his eyes. Their interlocked fingers remained in that position for the whole night.
It was the most peaceful sleep that either of them had in years.

“Billie!” Lynn exclaimed when she saw Tom’s younger brother. She threw herself at him with a big bear hug and kissed his cheek. “How’s my beautiful boy?” she asked while jokingly pinching his cheeks.
“Stop that! I’m bigger than you are!” Bill replied with a smirk as he straightened his shirt. “Aww man you know we have to give you crap even though I’m only ten minutes older!” Tom said with a smirk as he puffed out his chest. Lynn slapped him playfully and then linked her arm with Bill as they walked into the pizza place.
“I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.” Lynn said, “It’s only been a few weeks though, huh?” she asked.
“Yeah, but I missed you anyways! Now be careful, I almost had to be put in the hospital myself when I found out about the accident!” Bill teased.
“I know, I know.” Lynn said, “I’m sorry.”
“Yeah yeah just don’t do it again.” Bill warned jokingly, though Lynn could see the protectiveness in his eyes.
“Oh crap, Lynn, there’s someone I want you to meet. This is Melanie Schartstead, my girlfriend.” Bill introduced a petite, but curvaceous blonde with dark brown eyes.
“Nice to meet you.”
“You, too. I have heard a lot about you between these two. You’re all Tom talks about!” Melanie stated to Lynn’s blush.
“Yeah well I haven’t heard about you, but that’s because Tom has no manners…” Lynn said laughing at Tom’s faux-outraged look while Melanie just laughed. The two couples had a great time and Lynn decided that she really liked this Melanie girl. The girls chatted while the boys battled each other on Dance Dance Revolution. It was nice to have someone to dish the dirt on the boys. Though there wasn’t anything to complain about, it was nice to pretend. “How are things with you two?” Lynn asked Melanie. “Good, it was strange, though, it took me a while to realize that he was a boy!” Melanie responded as Lynn laughed. “I’m just kidding, but yeah I love him more than anything." she stated to Lynn's nod of approval.
" So what happened with you and Ben?” Melanie asked unaware of Tom’s plan.
“Ben? Who’s that?” Lynn said looking confused.
“Oh she meant your dad Darrell, she met him at the store the other day. She must have confused his name. Ha ha.” Tom chuckled anxiously as he rushed to cover up while Bill shushed Melanie.
“Well I think me and Mel are gonna split.” Bill announced quickly.
“Ok... well see ya later.” Lynn said waving as they left. She was still was confused about the conversation that she just had. Why was everyone acting so weird?
“ Well, I like her.” Lynn told Tom.
“Yeah, Mel’s great for Bill. He finally found a girl that doesn’t have a problem with letting him borrow her eyeliner.” Tom said with a smirk as Lynn laughed.
“Hey, it would be weird seeing Bill without it.” Lynn thought aloud.
“Oh I’ve seen it…it is NOT pretty, especially at seven in the morning!” Tom joked with a fake bloodcurdling scream.
“Since when do you get up anytime before two? I had to practically run a steamroller over you to get you off my floor before my parents saw you the other day!” Lynn teased. Admitting defeat Tom said, “Too true, you got me.” He wrapped his arm around her waist and walked her to her front door.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.” Lynn said lifting her head for a kiss to no avail.
“Hey can we go talk for a minute?” Tom asked and led Lynn over to her porch swing. “What’s up?” Lynn asked, unable to hide the apprehension in her voice.
“I just wanted to say thank you.” Tom said simply.
“ What for?” Lynn asked, incredulous.
“For being the most amazing girl I have ever known.” Tom said gazing into her eyes as she blushed profusely.
"Ummm...thanks? How do you respond to that?" Lynn said kissing Tom’s cheek, "You too?" she chuckled.
She sobered quickly when Tom only answered with a blush.
"I'm serious, you are truly amazing." he said before she bowled him over with a heart-stopping kiss.
“What happened to dating girls for two weeks and then dumping them? You have changed so much.” Lynn asked when the make out session was over.
Tom was startled at the use of words from the night of their fight before the accident.
“Well, I’ve been reserving everything for you. Lynn, I’ve loved you for a long time. I wasn’t and will not be satisfied with any other girl, but you.” Tom said honestly.
“Woah, wait. Did I just hear ‘I love you’ in there somewhere?” Lynn asked in disbelief.
“Yes.” Tom said completely sure of himself. There was no second guessing when it came to his love for her.
“Well if that’s the case, then I love you, too.” Lynn said with a shrug acting as if a profession of undying love was nothing to get excited about.
Tom looked at her prepared for the worst and when her reply came he sighed in relief and pulled Lynn in for a fierce kiss.
“I think I need to change my pants…” Tom said to Lynn’s laughter.

A tall, gorgeous dark haired guy sauntered into Lynn’s room as she watched tv.
“How ya doin babe?” he asked as he pinched her butt. She secretly hated when he did that. Like she was a piece of meat.
“I’m ok, I‘ve just been feeling weird lately.” She replied, “ I don’t know…I’ve just been thinking about the thing we were discussing the other day…and I decided that I’m not ready for that.”
“Why the **** not?” He asked his eyes turning cold, “I’ve given you plenty of time!” he looked at her and his gaze softened though the anger didn’t completely leave his eyes.
“I think it would be good for us.”
“I won’t do it, ok? It is my decision to make and mine alone!” she said.
“Fine you don’t have to be so psycho about it.” he said as she glared at him.
“Listen I’m sorry ok? I just want to be closer to you, that’s all.” he said and walked over to hug her and she leaned her head on his chest. When she looked up at him again she saw that it was a distraught looking Tom. They were no longer in her room, but outside on the street.
“Lynn, please listen to me. LYNN!” he screamed as she looked to see a car barreling towards her. As it struck, Lynn jerked out of her bed and fell to her floor.
“Oh…God.” she said, panting heavily. She touched her forehead and brought her hand down in front of her eyes to look at the sweat that was pouring off her. As it often happened, she couldn’t remember the conversations she was having in her dream, just the images. Who was that guy…?

Here's some more for you guys...

Lynn awoke the next morning to the sound of her cell phone’s text alert music. She lay there trying to wake up as the tone “Let’s Get it On” played letting her know that the sender was Tom. [Karissa…you know you’re laughing] She grabbed her phone when her eyes finally cleared and opened the message.
It read:
GOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL, I DON’T KNOW WHY I AM AWAKE BEFORE YOU, BUT I THOUGHT YOU SHOULD START THE DAY KNOWING I LOVE YOU.
Lynn grinned and giggled as she read it. Man, I have the sweetest boyfriend in the world, she thought to herself as she wrote him back.
ARE PIGS FLYING? YOU ARE ACTUALLY AWAKE BEFORE SUNSET? LOL! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
She finished sending the message and noticed that she had another one waiting to be opened. It read:
HEY! I HEARD YOU WERE OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. WANT TO GET TOGETHER FOR LUNCH TODAY AT THE PIZZA PLACE?
Curious to see who the sender was, Lynn looked at the name at the bottom of the page. BEN
Ben, Ben, do I know a Ben? It is probably just someone that I met some time last year. Still curious, she wrote back that it sounded good and they decided to get together at one that day. She didn’t know why, but she felt really apprehensive about the lunch date. Why do I get the feeling that I know him more than I think? She shrugged the feeling off as she got ready for the day ahead.

“You haven’t told her yet!” Mel yelled at Tom, “What in the **** is wrong with you?” She said as she looked at Tom in disbelief.
“You don’t get it, Mel. She doesn’t need that guy or their memories anymore. He treated her like some piece of *** while I sat there watching! And when she got ****** about it, she told me because I am her best friend. I know she doesn’t need him around anymore!” Tom tried to explain as Melanie rolled her eyes.
“Fine, do what you need to Tom, but I am not covering for you. I am no part of this, and you’re lucky that I’m not kicking the crap out of Bill for covering your *** the other night!” Mel said.
“I’m not doin that again.” Bill muttered, he knew he would hear about for the next month it if he tried to help his brother with his plan again.
“That’s fine, Mel. Just try not to say anymore about Ben around Lynn please?” Tom begged, giving Melanie his best puppy dog face.
“Alright, alright. But no more than that.” Melanie said and promptly left the room.
“Thanks a lot, bro.” Bill said sarcastically and punched Tom in the arm.
“I’m sorry man. Thanks for everything. I love her, I have to do what I can.” Tom said
“Yeah, I know. If it was Mel…I…I don’t know what I’d do. You have a lot of balls.” Bill said.
“That’s what she said.” Tom replied, inciting a laugh out of Bill.
“You’re a perv.” Bill said and left to go follow Melanie.

Lynn arrived at the restaurant early and found a table by a window. She was looking at the menu when the front door opened and in walked one of the hottest guys that Lynn had ever seen. He was tall and muscular, with shaggy black hair and ice blue eyes that would have been his best feature except for the fact that his mouth was perfect. Lynn obviously found him attractive, but she realized she wasn’t actually attracted to him. It seemed that Tom had redefined what she thought was attractive because he was the only boy that made her heart beat faster. Not this guy.
He walked in and looked over at Lynn and smiled as he headed over to her table.
“Babe!” He said and kissed her on the cheek.
“Woooah…what are you doing?” Lynn said taken aback at the nerve of the guy.
“What’s wrong sugar cheeks?“ Ben asked as he sat down.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know how close we were as friends, but I don’t remember you at all. You see I lost all my memory from last year.” Lynn explained.
“You what? You don’t remember me? Your boyfriend?” Ben asked, anger flashing in his eyes.
“My boyfriend? What are you talking about? I don’t know where you are getting your information from buddy, but I’m taken and I have been for the last year.” Lynn said. She didn’t like this guy one bit. She looked into his angry eyes and recognized him as the boy from her dreams.
“Yeah you were taken by me!” Ben argued as he looked at Lynn’s shocked face, “So I don’t know where YOU are getting YOUR information from!” he said angrily.
Lynn shook her head in disbelief as all the images came flooding into her mind. Where is this guy coming from? She thought. Why is he in my dreams?
“Listen, Bret. I have been dating Tom Kaulitz for the last year so you just need to back off!” Lynn said.
“It’s Ben!” he said, “Wait- did you just say Tom KAULITZ? He asked incredulously,“That little punk *** is supposed to be dating you? Who told you that?” Ben asked as he laughed.
“Tom did, thank you very much and I would believe him sooner than I would you!” Lynn said smugly.
By this time, Ben’s face was turning red as he was guffawing. Lynn looked at him in revulsion. She REALLY didn’t like this guy!
“That kid has been in love with you forever. He is so desperate, he probably told you that you guys were dating. God that’s funny!” he said to Lynn’s disgust.
“Even if that were true, I would never want to continue a relationship with someone like you!” Lynn said as she grabbed her purse and walked out.
The nerve of that guy! Ughhh, what a jerk! Lynn thought furiously as she drove home. That’s not true, thinking of their conversation. It can’t be…Tom would never…I…I would never date someone like that anyways. But what about the dreams?, she thought, but quickly pushed the thought away. No it’s not true, is it? I need to talk to someone who will answer me honestly, someone who would know. Melanie, I’ll call Melanie, Lynn decided as she drove on.

“Yeah you did…” Melanie trailed off when she saw the pain flash in Lynn’s eyes.
“You guys dated for a year starting in November of senior year. I’m sorry, but what that bastard said was true.” Mel sighed and pleaded with her friend. After all, Tom was family and the two were good together.
“Listen, Lynn, Tom only wanted what’s best for you. He loves you Lynn, you have to see that.” Melanie tried to reason with her friend as Lynn angrily shook her head.
“You don’t get it Mel, he lied to me. That is the worst betrayal of all.” Lynn said as angry tears flooded her eyes and spilled down her cheeks. She felt as though a hole had been torn in her and she clutched at her chest to try to ease the pain.
“I’ve always trusted Tom with everything, I thought that he of all people would understand what it means to be a friend!” she cried and grabbed her keys and ran to her car.
“Lynn, wait…” Melanie said as Lynn left. She promptly took her cell phone out and dialed Tom’s number.
Lynn drove on to her house and tried to pull herself together, though the pain was almost unbearable. Why would he do this? She thought…How could he even think that this would solve anything?

“Hello?” Tom said when he answered his phone. He was on his way home from the jewelry store, he had bought Lynn a promise ring.
“You asshole, Lynn found out!” Melanie blurted out in a hurry. “She is on her way home and she is upset and driving way too fast. You need to get your sorry *** over there and talk to her!” Melanie said and hung up.
Tom felt his heart sink lower than it had since the accident and headed in the direction of Lynn’s house. How did she find out? Stupid, stupid, stupid, he thought to himself as he slammed his fist into the steering wheel. You stupid bastard, why couldn’t you just profess your unending love to her like a normal person? You couldn’t even ask her on a date! He thought with a bitter laugh. No, you have to go and try to wipe out all the competition, literally. You ****ING IDIOT!

Lynn hurriedly wiped the tears from her face as she went into her house.
“Honey, what’s wrong?” her mom asked when she saw Lynn’s blotchy face and eyes.
“Nothing mom, just let me be for a while, ok?” Lynn said and headed up to her room where a new flood of tears came out when she plopped on her bed. Just push it all out, Lynn, She told herself. Just calm down and take a nap, it won’t be so bad when you get up. “Oh yes it will!” She said aloud and started crying all over again as she shoved her face into her pillow. A faint knock came from the door as Lynn lay there.
“Lynn, are you ok…”

“All I asked for was some peace and quiet. I really don’t want to talk right now, Mom.” Lynn said from under her covers.
“Well, good thing I’m not your mom.” Tom said as he walked inside and closed the door behind him. Lynn’s heart stopped for a moment and she felt the anger and pain begin to rise in her chest as well as the tears in her eyes.
“Get out.” Lynn told him.
“Lynn we have to talk, Mel told me that she told you about Ben.” he said as he let his head drop.
“No, you think we should talk?” Lynn said sarcastically, “Fine we’ll talk. We’ll start with what the **** YOU WERE THINKING!” She yelled throwing her shoe at him.
“HEY!” Tom said, dodging the soaring footwear. “We’ll talk when you stop throwing things!” Tom said as Lynn dropped the next missile she had in her hand, a clock radio.
“Fine. Talk.” She said. Tom walked over and sat down on her head.
“I guess I should start with the night of the accident…” Tom said and turned to Lynn. She had a confused look on her face.
“We went over to Melanie’s house for a party and I tried to talk to you without Ben around. I took you in her room and told you that me and Bill saw Ben at the movies hanging on another girl. He was cheating on you Lynn, but you wouldn’t understand. He was all over this skank and I tried to explain it to you, but you said I was lying to you. You…you wouldn’t believe me.” he said as he looked at her with pain flashing in his eyes.
“I can’t blame myself, I’m glad I didn’t believe you. There is no telling how many lies you have told me over six years of friendship!” she snapped.
Her words stung and Tom felt as though he would never be able to fix what had befallen them.
“Lynn, this is the first time that I have ever lied to you.” He said, his voice shaky with anger. “Now just let me explain. After I told you, you ran out of the room and outside. I stopped you out there and I…I.” he struggled to force out the words.
“You what?” Lynn said her voice sharp with a tone of impatience.
“I told you that I loved you, you ran across the street and got hit by a car.” he said quickly and Lynn’s heart went out to him for what he had to go through.
“I don’t blame you for the accident.” she said sharply, “but why did you try to delete Ben from my life?” she said as fresh tears started to well in her eyes. “I trusted you, you were my best friend!” Tom’s heart sank at the use of the past tense.
“He hurt you, Lynn. I didn’t want you to go through all of that again, I just couldn’t let him back in your life.” He said
“That is my decision to make, Tom! I met him earlier today, he is a jerk, but that is MY call, not yours!” She said as hot tears rolled down her cheeks.
“I wanted to PROTECT you!” Tom said as his anger rose.
“Well stop, I can take care of myself.” She said coldly.
“Excuse me for caring!” Tom said.
“I think that I believed that I was in love with him, Tom, you took that away from me.” She said to a new flood of tears.
“Why don’t you just go screw Ben and get back together if he cares so **** much more than I do!” Tom yelled a mixture of pain, anger, and disbelief in his eyes. The words hit Lynn full force and she began to tremble with anger.
“I want you to leave now and stay away from me.” She said slowly and coldly.
Don’t do this, Tom thought to himself. His heart was breaking and there was nothing he could do, but listen to the girl who ruled his thoughts for the last six years say goodbye. He took the modest promise ring out of his pocket and stuck it in Lynn's hand.
"This was for you..." he said as Lynn started shaking.
He left without another word.

Sorry I haven't written in a while...
It's been a long weekend...
Here's some more for the loyal ones

Two weeks had passed since the two had last seen or heard from each other. Lynn knew that she had to get over the heartache of losing Tom, but the constant ache in her chest told her that she would never completely heal. Though she put on a strong demeanor for her parents and friends, when she at last reached her room at night she could do nothing to stop the tears from coming. It seemed to Lynn as though she had lost a part of herself the day he left. A part she would never get back.
She went through her days as usual, working at a new job at a cd store in town and occasionally going out with some girlfriends, though she missed him. Not only him, but Bill and Melanie, too. She left everyday to work as though she was recovering easily, though her mother knew that she secretly wore the promise ring Tom left on a chain around her neck. She couldn’t help, but feel that her world wasn’t completely coming down on her when she touched her fingers to the cold metal. It was as though she was safer when she wore the ring, it was what was keeping her together.
She was swiping an old Frank Sinatra cd at work when she turned her attention to the clock on the wall. Ten minutes til I get outta here, Lynn thought hopefully and turned her gaze to the next person in line. It was Bill.
Bill jumped when he looked into Lynn’s obviously sleepless eyes. I didn’t know she worked here, ****! He thought and cursed himself for ever leaving the house.
“Hey…Lynn.” he said with his best attempt at a smile. His heart went out to her when he saw the dimness in her eyes.
“Oh, Bill, it’s really nice to see you.” she said and meant it, though she couldn’t even begin to think of a way to express how much she missed all of them.
“You, too. How’ve you been?” he asked conversationally, though Lynn could tell he was really asking about how she was coping with ending things with Tom.
“What can I say? I’m doing the best I can I guess.” she said with a meager smile. “Why haven’t you called me?” she said and slapped him playfully on the arm.
“I should have…I just thought it might be…” Bill said trailing off.
“Awkward.” Lynn finished with a nod. “I stopped dating your brother, not you Bill. You know I love you! And Melanie!” Lynn said.
“Oh, thank goodness!” Bill said jumping over the counter to wrap Lynn in a bear hug. The tension left his body. “I am sooo glad I saw you, Lynn. You know you’re like my sister, right?” he said with a smile.
“Yeah, yeah.” Lynn replied hiding the twinge of pain she felt at the remark. I would love to be his sister, she thought, not that it is going to happen. Bill could see the pain flash in her eyes.
“Well, I better go, Melanie is waiting for me.” he said and gave her a parting hug.
“You better tell her to call me.” Lynn warned and smiled.
She felt empty after Bill left. It felt a familiar twinge when she looked at him and saw the same easy smile that she loved in his brother. She couldn't deny that it hurt. She got a call from Melanie and had the chance to catch up with her. Finally being able to talk to some of her best friends relieved a lot of the tension she had, though the pain still wouldn’t go away.

“You saw WHO?” Tom asked Bill earnestly.
“Lynn.” Bill said simply and looked at his distraught brother. “She works at that new cd place down on F Street. I ran into her today when I bought this Nena cd.”
“How was she? What did she look like? Was she surprised? Gimme something!” Tom said as he bombarded his brother with questions.
“She look really good, actually she looked really hot. Like she was smoking’ hot with those legs and that hair…” Bill couldn’t help, but rub the situation in Tom’s face. He wanted his brother to know that he thought he was making a mistake, he thought with a smirk. He stopped smiling when he saw his brother’s cheeks start to redden with anger.
“Don’t talk about her like that.” Tom said with a rush of protectiveness.
“Chill, chill I’m just kidding!” Bill said raising his hands to give Tom the sign to calm down.
“How do you think someone would look after you told them to go screw their old asshole boyfriend?!” Bill said as Tom hung his head in regret.
“Honestly dude, she didn’t look too good. She’s hurting, you can see it in her eyes.” Bill said with a sigh.
“****! I ****in did this to her! God, I don’t know what to do…she hates me.” Tom said, tears stinging his eyes. “I can’t work without seeing her face every time I daydream, I can’t sleep cuz I dream of her and the times we‘ve had, Coke doesn’t even taste as good anymore!” Tom said.
“I wish I could fix this for you dude, but I can’t. You have to get her back or live your life without her.” Bill said and walked away.
What can I do? Tom thought. She doesn’t want to see me, see doesn’t want to be near me, she doesn’t want…me. He thought.
But I want her.

Lynn used her work days to escape the thought of him, of what they had. She was relieved to have Bill and Melanie in her life again, though it did bring back some unwanted memories…She felt stupid when she let him slip back into her mind and how he might be feeling. Just stop, she thought as she organized her workstation. He is probably over you by now, just like those other girls before her. She thought of what her mother had told her that very morning, “Time will heal your wounds, hun. You just need to give your heart a chance to recuperate.” Why does she have to be right all the time? Lynn thought with a smile.
“Lynn, I am bringing in someone to help lighten your workload.” Her boss, Molly, said as she came up to her.
“I’m going to need you to train him, though. He seems to be pretty smart so you should be ok. Does that sound all right?” she asked.
“Yeah, that’s totally fine.” Lynn replied with a smile.
“Plus he is really cute, maybe you know…you guys could get together…” Molly said, always the nurturer.
“Oh, Molly, you are so weird,” Lynn teased, “You know I’m not ready for that, but thanks anyways.”
“You need someone to get you out of that funk you’re in!” Molly said with a jab to Lynn’s ribs. “I need to see that pretty smile more often!” she said with a wink and walked away to help a customer.
What a sweetie! Lynn thought with a slight smile, I just hope she doesn’t try to force anything!

Tom paced the rug of the Kaulitz living room anxiously as he waited for Bill to get off the phone. Bill just sat there ignoring his older brother while he chatted with Melanie. Tom looked from the carpet, to the ceiling, to Bill, and back to the ceiling as he strode across the room. He gave Bill the wrap it up sign and his eyes pleaded with him silently.
“Mel- I better go, I think Tom is going to go into a seizure if I don’t help him with his problems.” Bill said into the phone and earned himself a nasty look from Tom.
“Is this about Lynn again?” Melanie asked from the other line.
“Of course.” Bill replied.
“Tell him to figure this **** out or leave her alone!” Melanie said.
“Yeah I will.” Bill said and repeated her words to him which issued a not-so-nice gesture from Tom.
“Tell him to put that finger away.” Melanie said, calling his reaction. Bill just laughed and told Tom what she said.
“She knows me too well.” Tom said.
“Hey, I better go. I love you.” Bill said and hung up.
“Now that you’re done making goo goo noises with your lover, could you please help me figure out how to talk to her?!” Tom pleaded.
Bill just sighed and said, “I don’t know! You need to apologize for one,” he said putting one finger up, “and then profess your immense and everlasting love to her, and let’s see promise not to be a major douche bag.” he said putting up two more fingers.
“Yeah to the first and the second. **** you to the third.” Tom said with a smirk.
“I honestly think that that would be the best that you could do.” Bill said.
“Yeah you’re right.” Tom said and headed off to mull over his plan.

“Lynn, I want you to meet someone.” Molly said as she dragged a guy over to where Lynn was working the next day.
“Okay…” Lynn replied, vaguely suspicious.
“Lynn, this is Georg. Georg, this is Lynn, she will be training you from now on.” Molly said and pushed the somewhat short guy over to Lynn.
“He’s from Germany.” Molly added with a wink.
Well he’s got nice biceps….

sorry it took so long...

“So you just put in the amount and press the tax button to get the total?” Georg asked Lynn as he fidgeted with the cash register.
“Yep, that’s all there is to it!” she said cheerfully, she was feeling a lot better these days.
“Oh, thank God, I was gonna freak out if there was anymore to do!” Georg said with a sigh.
“You know, your English is really good.” Lynn commented as she started to close down her station.
“Thanks, I took seven years of it so I better be somewhat ok at it by now!” he said.
“Wow, that would really bore me.” Lynn said. She was surprised by how easy their conversations flowed. She had to admit that she even looked forward to seeing Georg at work, they were becoming fast friends.

“It looks like you two are getting along well.” Molly commented right as Lynn started to leave to go home.
“Yeah, Georg is a pretty cool guy.” Lynn said nodding.
“I think I see some fireworks going on…” Molly said slyly with a twinkle in her eyes.
“Oh, not this again Molly,” Lynn said rolling her eyes, “ We are just friends, that’s it. I don’t want anything else nor do I need anything else right now.”
“Oh come on. Just give him a chance, it may be good for you.” she said.
“I am leaving and you are dropping this…” Lynn said over her shoulder as she went to leave.
“Just remember what I said.” Molly called sweetly and went to close up the shop.

Lynn arrived home and threw herself on her bed. She had to admit that life wasn’t too terrible lately, even though the ache of the break up never quite left. She instinctively raised her hand to the chain around her neck and lifted the ring to her line of sight.
It was modest, just the way Lynn liked it, a small silver band with an inscription on the inside. She would never forget the simple words engraved in the metal;
We were born to go on and on…
As she read the message, a lump in her throat started to rise and she couldn’t stop the tears from falling. God, Lynn, just stop already. It’s OVER, let go! She thought to herself and wiped the tears away in frustration. She felt her phone vibrating and looked to see who it was. The caller was Georg.
“Hey, what’s going on?” she asked when she answered the phone.
“Not much, just seeing if you wanted to get something to eat and maybe go see a movie?” Georg asked shyly.
Lynn felt her heart sink, she was not ready for this.
“Ummm, I don’t know. I’m kinda tired…” she trailed off.
“Come on, just a quick bite to eat and it’s off to bed.” he said and then choked.
“What?!” Lynn said with a laugh.
“No- I didn’t mean…not together…you…bed…ahhhh you know what I mean.” he said and finally gave up trying to clarify.
“I know, I know, I’m just messing with you. So where do you want to eat at?” she said, trying to change the subject. Realizing that she had basically accepted his offer, she slapped her palm against her forehead.
“I was thinking the Pizza Place. Does that sound alright?” he asked. Lynn felt a familiar pang in her chest at the mention of the place where she and Tom used to go. It wasn’t Georg’s fault, she thought and accepted his offer.

When she arrived at the restaurant, she couldn’t help, but glance over at the booth where she, Tom, Bill, and Melanie used to hang out in. Good times, she thought longingly and looked to see Georg waiting on a bench. She gave a hug and got settled in a booth across the room.
“So…how ya doin?” she asked, trying to get over the awkwardness.
“Good, I guess, I’m glad you decided to come.” he said with a small smile and started fidgeting with his hands. Lynn looked around as she tried to come up with something to talk about. Oh God, this is awkward, she thought with dread.
Lynn was a straight-shooter and hated dealing with unspoken things.
“Listen, Georg, I really like you,” Lynn said and placed her hand over his, “but as a friend. Nothing more.” she said and patted him.
“Oh, thank goodness.” Georg said and sighed in relief, but stopped when he saw the look on Lynn’s face.
“Not that I don’t think your attractive or anything like that, cuz I do. It’s just that I don’t like you like that either.” he finished.
Lynn relaxed and said. “Then why did you ask me out?”
“Well, honestly, Molly said you just got out of a relationship and needed a boost. I just wanted to be helpful.” he offered and his cheeks reddened.
“Oh, I am gonna kill her!” Lynn said, “I don’t want a boyfriend, my last relationship ended really badly and I don’t think I will ever fully get over it.” she explained.
“I’m sorry,” he said and it was his turn to pat her hand. “If it helps, I’m here anytime you want to talk.” he offered.
“Thanks, you’re a good friend.” Lynn said with emphasis on the “friend” part.
Georg just laughed and nodded his head. They were both relieved to have that awkwardness out of the way and enjoyed themselves the rest of the night.

Tom felt as though his heart was being ripped out of his chest. He, Bill, and Melanie, were about to enter into the Pizza Place when he saw her. Lynn was sitting there with some muscle-bound punk at their favorite hang out place. He stopped in his tracks and let his mouth hang open. Bill and Melanie walked ahead of him, but turned around when they noticed that he wasn’t following.
“Tom, you comin?” Bill asked and pushed his brother’s arm. Tom just stood stalk still and stared.
Both Melanie and Bill turned their gazes to the what was so interesting to Tom and saw Lynn in a booth with some guy with her placed over his.
“Oh, Tom, you don’t need to see this.” Melanie said and tried to lead him off back to their car. Bill just looked at Tom with concern in his eyes and quickly responded when Melanie asked him to help. Together they dragged the shocked Tom to the car and headed back to their house.
“Tom-” Bill began, but was immediately interrupted when Tom said, “Don’t.”
They drove home in silence and Melanie stole an occasional glance back at Tom and looked to her boyfriend. Bill just nodded silently and tightened his grip on the wheel.
Tom looked at the window as he felt the world slipping away. She looked so happy, Tom thought. She is over me and nothing I can do will fix any of this. He looked down to his lap and felt the tears sting his eyes. It’s over, he thought, there is no going back, you lost her. He quickly wiped the tears from his eyes.
You’ve lost her.

“Hello?…HELLOOOOOO?” Lynn waved her hand in front of Georg’s glazed eyes.
“Hey!” she yelled and snapped her fingers in his face to absolutely no reaction. Lynn grabbed her water bottle and gave him a quick squirt in the face.
“What the fu-” Georg responded, running his fingers through his long hair, attempting to fix it.
“Welcome back to Earth? What’s goin’ on?” Lynn asked and followed Georg’s embarrassed gaze to a short brunette thumbing through the Musicals section.
“Ohhhh” Lynn said, tongue in cheek, “It seems our resident exchange student has a wee bit of a crush.” she said with a giggle.
“Shhhhh…shut up Lynn!” he said as his cheeks reddened and he looked longingly at the pretty girl. “She’s been coming in and out of here all week and I can’t gather the nerve to talk to her.”
“Do you want me to talk to her for you?” Lynn inquired with a baby voice.
“NO!…Well…do think you could maybe ask her name?” he reluctantly asked.
“Seriously?” Lynn asked and smiled when he solemnly nodded his head.
“Alright, I’ll be right back.” she said and headed over the aisle that Georg’s dream girl was standing in. Georg tried not to stare, but could not get over the girl’s beauty. He watched silently as Lynn chattered with the girl as though they were old friends. Lynn returned to the register a little while later with a huge smile on her face. She walked right past an eager looking Georg and started to work on pricing the latest batch of c.d.’s. He stood there with his arms crossed and stared at Lynn while she worked. As time went on, he started tapping his right foot and fidgeting with his fingers. He finally sighed and threw his hands up in the air.
“So…?” he asked.
“So what?” Lynn said nonchalantly.
“Don’t be coy with me, tell me everything!” he said with a stamp of his foot.
“Ok, only because I can’t control myself!” Lynn said with a giggle, “her name is Mae and she is eighteen and works at the Starbucks across the street. She is super sweet and guess what?” Lynn said excitedly.
“What?!” Georg asked with a note of exasperation.
“I got her number so now we can all hang out sometime!” Lynn said.
“Oh no we can’t!” Georg said, vigorously shaking his head.
“What? Why not?” Lynn asked.
“Because that would mean that I would have to talk to her, and that I can’t do!” he said.
“What are you talking about? You obviously have a crush on her, you have to talk to the girl!” Lynn said amazed at his shyness.
“Uh, yeah right. That is not going to happen. If you haven’t noticed, I’m just a little shy.” he said sarcastically.
“Just pretend it’s me.” Lynn said and began to act as though she was flirting with him as he giggled and pushed her away.
“Achem…Lynn.” Bill said as he looked to an appalled Lynn and an embarrassed Georg.
“Oh, hey, Bill.” Lynn said as she cleared her throat, “What’s going on?” she said as her smile faded.
“Nothing much, I just figured I’d come say hi.” he said as he glared at Georg. Lynn noticed and struggled to clear up the situation.
“Bill, this is Georg, Georg Bill.” she nervously laughed. Bill just stood there and examined the two friends.
“Well, Lynn, if you’re done flirting I’d like to buy this c.d.” he said somberly.
“I wasn’t…flirting? What are you talking about?” she said, her voice thick with confusion.
“Nothing, nothing. I just came to see how you were doing after the nasty breakup with my BROTHER,” he put emphasis on the brother part and glared at Georg, “but I see that you are doing just fine, so I guess I will go.” he said and abruptly turned around and left.
“Bill!” Lynn called and tried to chase him, though her pace was no match for his.
“******!” she said when she lost sight of him and turned to go back to the store.
“What was that all about?” Georg inquired when Lynn returned.
“That was Bill, as you can see. My boyf-, my ex-boyfriend’s brother. He’s like family to me, so when he saw us messing around, he probably thought it was real.” Lynn explained.
“It seems like he really cares about your well-being.” Georg commented with a hint of a smirk.
“Yeah, just a little bit.” Lynn said and rolled her eyes. “I will call him after work and explain.”
“You better, I wouldn’t want him to get the wrong impression.” Georg replied.
“Me either.”

Lynn immediately took out her cell phone and dialed Bill’s number after she clocked out. The phone rang, but there was no answer. Drama queen, she thought to herself and rolled her eyes. I’ll call Mel. She dialed the number from memory and waited for her friend to pick up the phone.
“What do you want?” Melanie said harshly.
“Hey! What’s wrong?” Lynn asked, immediately concerned.
“Nothing.” she said curtly.
“Hey. Tell me what is wrong.” Lynn said just as curtly.
“Do you wanna explain what you were doing holding hands with some dude at OUR hangout the other night?” Melanie said angrily.
“What are you talking about?” Lynn said, searching her brain for some explanation as to why everyone was acting so defensive all of the sudden.
“And then you go off flirting with the same guy at work and poor Bill has to see you hanging all over this guy only a few weeks after you broke up with his brother!” she was on a roll.
“And even more, why couldn’t you tell me that you were over Tom. I would’ve understood, but no you have to go sneak around like some floozy!” Melanie yelled.
“MELANIE, chill!” Lynn yelled to stop her angry friend. “That was a big misunderstanding. Bill walked in on us joking around, it was just my friend Georg. He’s new to America and we became really good friends. That’s all and- Wait how did you know about the Pizza Place?” Lynn asked, after finally figuring out what exactly her friend was screaming about.
Melanie sighed heavily and said, “We saw you guys at the Pizza Place through the window. We were about to go eat when we saw you two holding hands.” she said.
Lynn laughed in relief, “Oh my gosh, what a huge misunderstanding! I was explaining to Georg how I didn’t like him more than a friend. Molly tried to push us into a relationship and forced him to ask me out! That’s all!” Lynn chuckled.
“Oh thank, God!” Mel sighed in relief, “I’m sorry it just really freaked us out when we saw you with someone other than Tom.” she said.
“By ‘we’, you mean you and Bill, right?” Lynn tried to clarify.
“Ummm, yeah me, Bill, and…. ummm…Tom” Melanie said and winced.
“WHAT?!” Lynn yelled, “HE WAS THERE AND HE SAW US! Oh God, what did he do? How did he act? Oh my God!” Lynn said, successfully freaked out.
“Chill out! He was upset of course, we all were.” Melanie replied.
“Oh God!” Lynn said and felt as though her heart had stopped completely. She didn’t want to hurt him like this.
“I’m soooo sorry!” she cried.
“It’s ok. You didn’t know.” Melanie said soothingly.
“Can you please-” Lynn said tearfully.
“I’ll explain, don’t worry.”

Bill sighed in relief when Melanie finished relaying Lynn’s story to him. He was ashamed to be so happy that Lynn wasn’t over his brother yet. It gave him the slightest glimmer of hope that they would be able to get back together. He leaned over and pulled Melanie into his lap and held her close as he shut his eyes.
“Is it horrible that I am happy that they are both still hurting?” Bill asked.
“No…to be honest I feel exactly the same,” she said gazing up at him, “I want them to be unhappy alone because I want them to be happy together.”
“Yeah, I know. It sucks to see their relationship fall apart like this, neither of them deserve all this pain.” he commented.
“I know, I freakin’ hate this!” she said and slapped her leg for emphasis.
“If it makes you feel any better, I’m never going to do anything like that to you.” he said and gave her shoulders a squeeze.
“You’re **** straight you’re not!” she said and pulled his face down to hers for the lightest of kisses.
“Nor am I ever going to leave you.” he said and smiled against her lips, “ Seriously, I’ll be like a stalker.” he mumbled as she giggled.
“Hey, you better get a hold of Tom and let him know about the whole Lynn thing.” Melanie said, sobering immediately.
“Yeah, I’ll give him a call in a minute.” He bellowed and proceeded to pick her up and swing her around. Lost in each other’s company, they forgot all about telling Tom the big news.

“Just go talk to her!” Lynn pleaded with Georg. “You can’t avoid her forever, you know. Plus I just happen to know that she thinks you’re cute!” she said enticingly.
“Are you serious? She thinks I’m cute? Cute?! What ever happened to sexy and manly?” he whined.
“You want a girl who says that you’re cute, that means she is a good girl. If she says you’re sexy then you know she’s a ho bag.” Lynn replied simply.
Georg dropped his shoulders and gulped loudly.
“I don’t know…” he said with a shake of his head.
“You know you like her, that’s all there is TO know. You’re gonna regret it if you don’t ask her out. Trust me, you don’t want to spend all your time wondering what could have been.” Lynn ended her advice with a nod.
“Well, if you’re quite done now Oprah; let’s talk about you for a minute.” he said and folded his muscular arms.
“About what? There’s nothing to talk about. Help me move these cassettes.” she said trying to change the subject while lifting the heavy box. Georg easily removed the box from her hands and set it on the floor with a thud.
“You know exactly what I am talking about, now stop trying to avoid the question. What happened between you and this old boyfriend? Don’t tell me it’s nothing, I can see the sadness on your face whenever we talk about anything remotely close to involving love. Now spill.” he said.
“There is nothing to spill, Georg. We went out, it didn’t work. Nothing to tell.” she said as she tried to hide the pain in her voice.
“I’ll make you a deal. If you tell me about this guy, I will ask Mae out.” he said with a shrug. “Take it or believe it. As you Americans say.”
“Take it or LEAVE it, dork.” Lynn said with a laugh, but quickly stopped when she realized that there was no getting out of it.
“Uggghhhh. Fine, you first.” she said slyly. Georg’s smirk faded and he swallowed deeply.
“Fine.” he said and headed off to where Mae was looking at an old Taking Back Sunday c.d.
Oh ****, Lynn thought to herself.

“Hi…umm you’re Mae, right?” Georg asked as a blush started to rise in his cheeks.
“Oh, hi! Yeah that’s me. You‘re friends with Lynn, aren‘t you?...” she trailed off with a smile and waited for Georg to introduce himself.
He just stared at her for a few moments before he shook himself out of his reverie and said, “Oh, yeah that’s me. Georg I am. I mean I am Georg.” he said and felt another surge of red flow to his face. Mae just giggled and looked at the c.d. she had in her hand.
“So…you’re from Germany right?” she inquired, trying to get the conversation started.
“Yes, I am…I just moved here a few weeks ago.” he said with a meager smile.
“Wow, that’s really cool, you and Lynn became friends fast, huh?” she noticed.
“It’s pretty impossible not to be friends with Lynn, she talks too much.” he said with a heart melting wink as Mae giggled even more.
“She seems to be pretty outgoing. She told me that you think I’m cute.” she said hoping to weasle a date out of him. As if defying the laws of physics, his blush turned a new shade of magenta and he shot a glare at Lynn, who quickly ducked behind a rack of country c.d.’s.
“I swear she is going to die,’ he said, “ but she was telling the truth. I’ve been caught so I better get it out or I never will. I pretty much have a huge crush on you. I see you everyday and I always want to talk to you and I never do…” he said and nudged the carpet with his foot.
“Ummm, wow.” Mae said and pushed her bangs behind her ear.
“So…are you going to ask me out anytime soon?” she said. Georg lifted his head and smiled from ear to ear.
“Definitely, just let me get your number…”
Lynn watched the two interact and thought that they would make a pretty cute couple. She noticed that Georg was blushing a lot and smiled to herself. What a sweetie…she thought and looked to the couple as she headed over to stock some more c.d.’s. She saw Mae send a quick glance and smirk her way right before Georg turned around and sent her a murderous glare. Oh crap, she told him she thought as her she was filled with dread. They continued to talk while Lynn worked and she wondered how Georg was doing. She couldn’t help, but think longingly of Tom and much fun they used to have. She looked up as Georg approached with a huge smile on his face.
“How’d it go?” she asked with a grin.
“Very well…I got her number!” he said and jumped up and down.
Lynn squealed and hugged him tight.
“I am so proud of you!” she said and they spun around in a circle until Molly quieted them and told them that they were scaring away the customers, They both smiled sheepishly and returned to their work.
“We better get down to business.” Lynn said as she got to work.
“Yeah we should. So tell me about him.” Georg said, his smile still in place.
“******! I was hoping you were going to forget.” Lynn said kicking herself for promising to tell him about Tom. She sighed heavily and tried to mentally prepare herself for the upcoming conversation.
“I never forget,” he said, “Nor will I forget about you telling Mae I think she’s cute, but we’ll save that for later. Now go on and tell me.”
“Ok, last year I was involved in a car accident. Tom and I were only friends back then and him and his brother saw my then boyfriend cheating on me. Long story short, I didn’t believe him, we fought, and I ran out in front of a car. Yeah I know stupid,” she said as she surveyed the look of concern on his face though that goofy grin was still there.
“Anyway, I lost all my memory from my last year of school, including my memories of Ben (my then boyfriend). Tom decided that it was a good idea to erase him from my life completely.” she continued and felt the pain start to burn inside her, “He told me that he was my boyfriend and I believed him. He was my best friend, I expected nothing, but the truth. We fell in love or at least I did…” she trailed off.
Georg patted her arm gently and for once the smiled disappeared from his face.
“If it’s too hard, you don’t have to tell me.” he said softly.
“No, I’ve come this far.” she said and wiped the tears from her eyes with a sniffle.
“I don’t know what to believe about any of our relationship, what was real, what was fake. I found out from Ben, who is an asshole by the way,” she added to a snicker from Georg. “and we fought and it ended.” she finished with a sigh.
“I even wear this promise ring he gave me just before he left.” she said with a jittery laugh.“I don’t know why.” she added and pulled the chain out from beneath her shirt to show him.
“Wow, Lynn, I don’t even know where to begin. He gave you this after you fought?!” he said shocked.
“Yeah, so what?” she said.
“I wouldn’t give my soon-to-be-ex a promise ring! He obviously still cares.” Georg said with a laugh. “Honestly Lynn, what are you doing? He cares, he wouldn’t have cut Ben from your life if he didn’t want to protect you! No offense, but you are STUPID when it comes to love.” he said.
“Screw you!” she said and punched him in the arm. He did raise a good point though. He did give me the ring and Bill said he was hurt when he saw Georg and I at the Pizza Place, she thought to herself.
“Judging by the look on your face, I’d say you haven’t considered that yet.” Georg said simply. “Go get him back stupid ***!” he said and nudged her aside.
Lynn grabbed her stuff together with an urgency that she didn’t understand and said, “Hey can you-”
“Of course I’ll cover for you, now get out of here!” he said with a smirk.
Lynn couldn’t explain it, but she had the strangest feeling that she had to find Tom now before he did something rash.

She's finally pulling her head out of her butt long enough to realize that Tom did it in her best interest. ****, I would have been all over him like white on rice if any of this had happen to me. Especially if I had found out AFTER meeting the a@@ I dated before. Ok, I need more!!! I have to find out what happens next.

Lynn approached her car with keys in hand and felt a buzzing in her pocket. She pulled out her phone and looked to see who the caller was. It read BILL and she answered it quickly as pulled out of the parking lot.
“Bill, I’m so glad you called, I have to apologize. I hope Mel explai-” she said, but was cut off by an obviously distraught Bill.
“Lynn, I need you. It’s Tom, he…” Bill began with worry thickening his words.
“Bill, what’s going on? You need to tell me what is going on!” Lynn pleaded with Bill, immediately concerned about what he was about to say.
“He just left…Mel and I came home and he was just sitting there on the couch with a bag and said he was leaving. He said that you didn’t need him to hurt you anymore and that he needed to start over. Oh God.” he said as his voice started shaking, “He wouldn’t tell us where or when, he just said that he would be in touch. I don’t know what to do.”
Lynn felt like she couldn’t breathe. She wanted to comfort Tom, kiss him, hug him, and kick the **** out of him all at once.
“****, ****, ****.” She said, slamming her phone into the steering wheel and sighed heavily as she once again lifted the it to her ear.
“Bill, we have to find him. Have Melanie check the train station, you check at his work and see if anyone knows anything, I’ll check the airport.” she said and shut her phone while she sped toward the airport.

Tom shuffled to the front desk of the train station with his modest duffel bag in his hand. This is what’s best, he thought to himself and set his bag on the counter.
“Hi, I need a one-way ticket to Santa Barbara please.” he said and slid the money onto the desk.
“The next train will be leaving at six o’clock. Are you sure this is the right choice? She still loves you.” the attendant asked as she printed out his receipt.
“What?” Tom asked.
“I said, ‘Do you want smoking or nonsmoking?” she said with a well-placed smile.
“Oh, ummm smoking please.” he replied shaking his head. Now, I’m hearing people giving me advice. This brings a whole new meaning to “love sick”, I’m ****in’ going crazy! He thought to himself and took the ticket. He looked at his watch and saw that he had three hours to wait. ****! I can’t wait here that long! What am I supposed to do for three frickin’ hours he thought and headed out to his car. I’ll just drive around and say goodbye to the place, he decided and left the parking lot right as Melanie drove in.

He drove aimlessly, thinking of growing up with Bill and Lynn and how much fun they had together. A solitary tear rolled down his cheek and he quickly brushed it away. Man I am going to miss this place and…her. He tried to push her out of his thoughts, but found that everything reminded him of Lynn. That’s why I have to leave, he thought. I just…I have to see her one last time.
He pulled up to Lynn’s house and walked to the front door. His pulse started to rise as he waited for her to answer her door. The big wooden door swung open and Rosemary, Lynn’s mom peered out.
“Oh, Tom. I wasn’t expecting you. Come in, come in.” she said kindly and hugged him.
“Is Lynn here, Rosemary? I really need to talk to her before I leave.” he said.
“I’m sorry, she’s not honey. You can wait for her in her room until she gets home, if you want.” she said.
“Ok, I’ll do that.” he headed up the stairs to her room while Rosemary watched him leave with concern and love in her eyes.
He opened the door to her room and felt a rush of memories flood his mind’s eye. He could smell her overwhelming scent in the room. He took a deep breath and detected the familiar scent of carnations, her favorite flower, and baby powder. Simple as it was, it drove him crazy. A wave of pain had him doubling over and he fought to bat it down. He needed air, so he opened her window and climbed onto her roof, following the tradition that seemed a lost cause now.

Lynn drove around, successfully freaked out, and searched the streets and her brain for any place that Tom could be. She called Melanie and Bill every few minutes, but their efforts were useless. He was gone, he left just like that. Lynn couldn’t believe it and shook her head to rid herself of the image of him walking away. She started to cry softly, but her body immediately started racking with sobs as she let herself go. She pulled up to the front of her house and sat there for a few moments trying to compose herself. She didn’t know what else to do. She slowly got out of her car and looked to her house longingly. She noticed a movement and looked to her window where Tom sat outside on her roof, studying the setting sun. She stood there speechless as he glanced down to his watch and stood to go. Her shoulders jerked in reaction and she came out of her stupor.
“What the ****?!” she yelled suddenly and Tom looked down to her, a look of complete dread coming on his face. She tore into her house and up the stairs.
There was going to be **** to pay.

NOTE:
The whole roof thing- if you have read all of the story than that is where I am getting the sitting on the roof thing. In an earlier post I mentioned that Tom and Lynn used to sit on her roof when they were kids...At least I'm pretty sure I did. If not there is at least a scene where Lynn had one of her dreams and her and Tom sit outside her window.
No one is falling off a roof.

Tom’s POV
He gazed over the horizon of the city and felt a wave of melancholy. He was going to miss this place more than he ever realized. Not just the city, but the memories, all of them, good or bad. They made up his life and he was going to leave it all behind. He took a minute to review some of the times he had and thought to himself; Sometimes beginnings aren’t so simple, sometimes goodbye is the only way. He looked toward the setting sun. My sun will set with her, he thought, all my days will be merely shadows of the ones I’ve had. He looked at the time and decided to leave without seeing her. Maybe it’s for the best. He stood to go and took a final glance at what he was leaving behind.
“What the ****?!” he heard a familiar, heart-stopping voice say and looked down at an obviously ****** off Lynn. Oh ****, he thought to himself, there’s no chance of a peaceful retreat now. She raced inside and he climbed through the window to wait for her.

She threw open the bedroom door and slammed it behind her.
“What the **** were you thinking?” she yelled.
“I just came to tell you that I’m leaving and-” he got out before she interjected,
“I mean here I am sitting at work when I get a call from a freaked out Bill, saying you’re leaving. We searched everywhere for you and you are at my house! What the ****?” she asked breathing heavily.
Realization came to Tom, as he figured out that she wasn’t angry about their fight, yet. She was mad because he was leaving.
“Lynn, calm down. I just came here to tell you that I’m leaving to Santa Barbara. I thought it would be best to tell you in person. I just have to get away from…this.” he said.
Though he was so vague, Lynn knew exactly what he was talking about. He was trying to escape from the pain.
“I understand.” she said simply. Even though they hadn’t been together for almost a month, she felt all the familiar old feelings coming back, pain being the frontrunner.
“I knew you would. I just want you to know, no matter how much you don’t want to hear it or don’t care, I never lied about my feelings for you. I never lied about anything other than Ben.” he said looking directly into her dark brown eyes with his golden ones.
“Don’t.” Lynn said, she didn’t want to hear this. Her resolve was collapsing and she knew it.
“I have to say this, I need to get it out. Just please listen.” he pleaded as his eyes filled with pain.
Lynn nodded her head as tears spilled from her eyes. Tom reached out to wipe them off and Lynn leaned into his touch. She realized what she was doing and jerked away.
“I want you to know that I will never stop loving you. You need to understand that I still feel the same way and I love you.” he said honestly and took her hands in his.
Lynn’s head was screaming for her to let him leave, to be done with the whole thing. He lied…he lied, he lied, he lied. She repeated to herself over and over again. Georg’s voice rang inside her head “He was protecting you…”.
“I know that you are with someone else and I know you’re happy, and I want you to be. I just can’t watch you get over me. I know it’s selfish, but I just…can’t do it.” he said with a sigh.
Lynn gave a shaky laugh and said, “You Kaulitz boys jump to conclusions so easily.”
Tom looked at her questioningly and she continued, “I am not with someone new. He is just a friend, but you guys always seem to have the worst timing…” she trailed off and looked away.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you when you saw us at the Pizza Place. That is the last thing I want.” she said lifting her gaze to meet his again.
“Oh yeah, I’m not happy either.” she added. Not without you, she thought.
Tom’s head jerked as if punched in the face and said, “You’re not happy?”
“Not unless crying yourself to sleep every night qualifies as being happy.” she said with a bitter laugh.
“Oh, God, Lynn I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. If I could take it all back, I would. Wait, I wouldn’t take it back.” he said changing his mind while Lynn looked at him.
“I won’t give back any time that I had with you. I cherish it all.” he said gazing fiercely in Lynn’s eyes. She shook her head as her eyes emptied down her cheeks.
“Don’t say stuff like that.” she pleaded.
“Why? It’s all true. I realize now that I can’t stop and rewind what has happened, but I did it all because I love you.” he said and lifted her chin up to look deep into her eyes.
Georg’s words once again rang in her head. She felt the pain that she had now and knew that it would double, triple, quadruple if he left again, this time completely. She didn’t know if she could let him leave. She didn’t know if she could let him stay.

Oh my readers, I feel as though our little journey is coming to an end. I fear there may be only a couple more chapters left to the saga that is Stop Rewind. Ok, I'm being overly dramatic, but I am coming to an ending place. Cherish the next few chapters kiddies. Now, here's more...

She shook her head to clear her mind, but found that the answer wasn’t the one that she wanted. Just tell him how you feel, she thought. NO! He doesn’t care, he’s just lying all over again, the obnoxious little voice in her head kept repeating.
“You don’t love me. Not really.” she said and forced herself to look away from his deep brown eyes.
“Look at me when you say that.” Tom commanded and took her chin in his hand.
“Look me in the eyes and tell me that you can’t see what I feel for you in them.” he said as he aimed his gaze directly into her eyes.
She saw something more than she wanted to see. She saw love, she saw regret, she saw hope, but she also saw the most important thing.
She saw the truth.
Her head screamed for her to let him go. Once a liar, always a liar. She looked at him and dropped the hand that she still held. The last glimmer of hope left his eyes immediately and he swallowed and nodded his head.
“I don’t know what you think you saw, but you’re making a mistake. I just want you to know that.” he said and turned to go.
“There you go jumping to conclusions again.” Lynn said, still unsure. Tom’s head perked up as he turned back around.
“So…that means what exactly?” Tom said.
Lynn tried to smother her longings and said, “Well, maybe we can start over as friends.”
Tom’s heart fell again, but he knew that he had to take whatever he could get when it came to her.
“Ok.” he said and nodded his head. He began fidgeting with his hands and swallowed.
“Ok.” he repeated. It drove Lynn crazy when he got nervous, it was the sweetest thing that he could do and the most heart-wrenching of all his quirks. She struggled to clear her thoughts and finally let out a long, slow breath.
“Ah, screw it.” she said and threw herself into his arms. Tears ran down their faces and combined as she pressed her lips with his. He wrapped her in his arms and pulled her closer to him.
“I love you” she mumbled against his mouth. She stopped the kiss to look up into his eyes.
“I know that you wanted to protect me and I love you for it. No matter how many times I told myself you didn’t mean it. I know you did, I just couldn't make myself believe you. You know I can’t stand liars, but I know now that you did what was best.” she said shakily and tenderly nuzzled his lips.
“I,” he kissed her lips, “love,” another kiss, “you,” he said with yet another kiss. He kissed her forehead, her eyes, her cheeks , and her tears as though the whole thing was so fragile that it might leave in an instance. They broke apart to wipe the tears from their faces. Lynn felt as though she could finally breathe again, like a weight was being pulled, no thrown, from her chest.
“You realize that you have Georg, the guy you thought I was dating, to thank for this.” Lynn said with a giggle.
“Oh really.” Tom said with a smirk and a sniffle. He kissed her again for good measure. He had to make sure that this was all real.
“You better call your brother.” she said and finally sat down on her bed. He called Bill and explained that things were ok, well “amazing” as he phrased it, and crossed the room to Lynn after he ended the conversation.
“Can you just stay next to me?” she asked and snuggled up to him, laying her head on his chest.
“Always.” he replied.
“Is it just me or is it colder when I’m not near you?” he asked, taking the words out of her mouth.
“Bone chilling.” she replied and kissed him fiercely.
“I say we heat things up.” he said with a smirk.
Lynn rolled her eyes and laughed while simultaneously punching him in the arm.
“In your dreams, pal.” she said.
“Oh yes, you are.” he said and dodged another blow.

That's right. This is the end my friends...parting is such sweet sorrow. I will however be making a poll to see if you guys might possibly want a sequel...
So you better give me some positive feedback or the saga is over. Muahahahaha, jk, but seriously.

TWO MONTHS LATER
Lynn grunted heavily as she picked up another box to be sealed and placed in the moving van.
“Got enough stuff?” she said and dropped the box on the counter closest to her.
“I can’t help it, I accumulate stuff really easy. I’m what you Americans call a rat pack.” Georg said and quickly closed the box with scotch tape.
“I think you mean a packrat, Sammy Davis Jr., now get rid of some of this stuff.” she said, smiling at Georg’s confusion. Tom came trooping down the stairs with another box, followed by Bill.
“Dude, you’ve been here for only three months, it’s impossible for you to have this much stuff.” Tom said as he wiped the sweat from his forehead and fixed his hat’s position on his head.
“Seriously, this is going to cost a lot to ship back to Germany.” Bill commented and looked at his fingernails.
“Oh, man my nail polish is chipped!” he whined while Tom and Georg rolled their eyes and told him to man-up.
“I think we’re about finished.” Melanie announced as she and Mae came inside from packing the van.
“I’m really going to miss you.” Lynn said as she gazed at the empty apartment. Everyone was leaving to go their separate ways. Georg was leaving to Germany, Tom and Lynn were heading off to UCSB for school, Melanie and Bill were staying in town and going to the junior college, and as for Mae, she would stay there, too. Well, that was if she turned down Georg when he asked her to come to Germany with him later that evening.
“Yeah. This summer has been a lot of fun, well for the most part.” she said with a side glance at Lynn and Tom and a laugh.
“No one is going to miss you more than me.” Mae said and put her arms around Georg’s waist. They kissed and Lynn’s eyes welled up with tears as she heard a sniffle coming from Melanie’s direction.
“Ugghhhh, you think you guys could end the face sucking session for just a few minutes?!” Tom said rolling his eyes.
“Yeah, you guys haven’t quit since this morning!” Bill added as Georg ended the kiss long enough to flip Bill and Tom the bird and turn back to his girlfriend.
“Come on, Mae, let’s go outside where we won’t be bothered!” Georg said jokingly and shot a nervous glance at Lynn as he led Mae away with a hand on her lower back. She nodded and gave him a thumbs up, as did the rest of the friends.
The pair went outside under a willow tree and Tom, Bill, Lynn, and Melanie ran to the window to watch the couple. Georg grabbed Mae’s hand and started to talk as she listened, intently gazing at his face.
“What do you think he’s saying?” Tom inquired worriedly.
“I don’t know, I don’t think he’s gotten to the important part yet.” Lynn replied, straining to see over Tom’s shoulder. He noticed and pulled her in front of him and peered over her head.
“Come on, just do it.” Bill impatiently remarked.
“Shhh, these things take time.” Melanie said as she watched.
Georg continued to talk, gesturing wildly as he got more and more nervous. Noticing, Mae grabbed his hands and began to rub them soothingly. He dropped his head and took a deep breath and said a few words before lifting his gaze to meet Mae’s. Her jaw dropped in shock and she tackled him and vigorously kissed him.
“Yesssssssssss!” Tom said and punched his fist in the air before high-five-ing Bill and kissing Lynn. Melanie beamed and hugged Bill before all four of them ran outside whooping and hollaring to congratulate the enamored couple.
The friends headed back into the house and ordered pizza. There they chatted on the living room floor and ate from the food from the Pizza Place together for the last time.
"I'm gonna miss this." Melanie said to nods of agreement.
"I know, nothing is going to be the same." Lynn said."I mean, the next time I see Bill he could complete his look with breast implants and a vagina!"
Tom, Georg, Mae, Lynn, and Melanie howled with laughter as Bill sat there and shook his head with a chuckle.
"Nice guys, great way to say goodbye." he said with a laugh.
"Oh, you know we love you." Lynn said.
"Even though you look like a girl." Tom said with a smirk.
"I don't think you look like a girl, honey. You're too hot to look like a girl!" Melanie said and kissed Bill on the cheek. Georg put his hands up to quiet everybody and cleared his throat as Mae grabbed his hand.
“Mae and I were talking a little while ago and we decided something.” he said and looked to his best friends.
“We wanted to know what you guys think about Germany.” he said to the confusion of the others.
“Well, it’s in Europe.” Bill said sarcastically, poking fun at Georg’s lack of clarity.
“No, I mean what do you think about living there?” Georg said with a smile and a glance at Mae.
“Germany? I don’t know about that.” Lynn said uncertainly.
“We’re game. Sounds awesome!” Melanie said for her and Bill with a bright smile. Tom looked to Lynn with a question in his eyes and a shrug of his shoulders.
“Ohhhhh, no. I can’t go to Germany. I don’t have a passport or money or…” she said with a worried look.
“Or a credible excuse.” Tom said with a smile. “Come on, let’s go. What’ve we got to lose? We can postpone college for a semester or two.” he added and gave her his best puppy dog eyes.
“Stop that…no…we…I…angry parents…college…uggghhhh.” Lynn said and looked to all her smiling friends.
“Fine, but I’m gonna be ****** if my career never happens.” she said glaring and quickly added, “Assholes.” as all her friends tackled her to the ground.
Hmmmm Germany, she thought, could be an adventure….
