We just wanted to welcome you all to the new Official US Tokio Hotel forums. We know most of you are a bit distressed right now, but hopefully with a little bit of time, we can make these forums just as good, and better, than the old ones.

You may have also noticed a revamp on the official site. Now our US site looks a lot more like the Official European ones. Obviously they know what they're doing over there, so I think this is a good sign. ;)

We have a very friendly Administrative staff so I hope you can all feel at home and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Also, please feel free to leave any comments, questions, and suggestions here. Other than that, have fun and be good!

I don't know what else to say. this is how it is now. there is nothing anyone can do.

it's going to be okay. everyone will eventually will find their way over here. it's natural to miss the old forum, that was where everything began, friendships were built.

this wasn't our decision. we're only doing what management told us to do, and this is a GOOD thing. it means the band is serious about being successful over here. they will be coming back.

like I said, I really don't know what else to say. there's so much negative energy going on around here.

Yes, it's new. Yes, you have to regain your post counts. Yes, your stories aren't here (suggestion, fic folks! Copy/paste your old stories into a word document, then host the whole of your story somewhere [geocities and angelfire are both free, as are livejournals and myspace accounts], then you can save yourself MASSES of time moving the whole story over AND still have your story available to be read! :D ).

BUT, this forum is far more organized than the old one was, which IS a good thing. For everyone. If you spent more time figuring out ways to make your time here enjoyable instead of complaining about everything that's wrong with it/you don't like, you might just grow to like the place. 8-)

I think I'll just come on in and add some more positivity, if that's all right...

I was sad, too, when I heard the old boards were going to be dispatched to Message Board Heaven. I was angry about the new site because the homepage requires so bloody much Flash and I'm currently without access to a computer that a) has a Flash Player installed or b) has a fast enough internet connection to make it reasonable to view the page. (I'm in Ecuador from early February until the end of May, and the communications systems are pretty poor here. -_-) I'm going to try to work my way around that and get the boards anyhow, but it's going to be difficult... and since joining the old boards, the majority of my social life has been conducted in the TH fan community (okay, kind of pathetic. But whatever. I'm happy and I, at least, know that I'm really not a loser...), so having that taken from me for a matter of months, until I go home and have decent internet access... well, that idea was and is a highly unpleasant one to me. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. :-/

Uh... Okay, sorry, that wasn't the positive part. XP

The positive part is that (*prepares to feel foolish*) I've decided to be positive about it! :mrgreen: While I have the chance to get on these boards, I'm going to do my best to make myself a part of the community... or rather, the community of which I was a part, but which has now been transplanted. Because life is too short to be ****** about stuff. And there's nothing I can do about the old boards... and frankly, these boards look pretty nice to me--I have a big choice of colors, I can easily format my text (the HTML on the old site sucked so bad... half the time it didn't even work and you were left with a mess around your text and no formatting), the smilies are **** in my opinion but whatever, at least we have smilies. XP I haven't really had the chance to look around much, but I'm going to this evening. What I've seen so far has made a good impression on me. :-]

They're too complicated. I personally find simplicity aesthetically pleasing. (I don't wear jewelry, obvious makeup, clothes with logos/designs, or put posters or anything on my walls because it looks ugly and cluttered to me. I really--bordering on obsessively?--find "clean and simple" much more to my tastes.) There's too much detail--I can't even see what emotion the smilies are supposed to represent. And I don't like the fact that they're people, instead of anonymous little stylized faces, like most smilies. I just don't like that. Anonymous smilies, I feel, can represent anybody and their emotions--could be me, could be someone I'm talking to or about, whatever. But when the smilies are clearly individuals, and individuals who are definitely not me or (necessarily) who I'm talking to/about, then it makes it less... I don't know, comfortable to use them to represent me/whoever. Like, "I can't use that smilie, that's not the right face." You know?

You know what sucks? In this thread I'm writing in yellow even though everywhere else I switched to orange. I must be mildly OCD because I have to have it all uniformly colored by thread... I would say, if you havn't been told yet about the old MB, to contact the Main admin there. He runs all the MBs for that Site. It's alot more then just TH. He has control over it.

I actually like this set up! I am so glad you all have done something new with this site. I am sure that everyone will get to know the new site and it will actually be EASIER to use than before.

I do have a question/request though... now that we have a new site... can I change the name I go by here? If so.. can a mod or admin PM me and tell me what to do in activating that here on the new site....

Hey, I just wanted to congratulate everyone on an awesome new forum; I really like it!

I had a question about the fonts, html/nonhtml transferring over. (Dunno if you've already addressed it, I've searched everywhere) I used the html code for 'small' font on the old site, and when all my posts showed up here, the font became ENORMOUS!

Not that I mind, because I think I've got very important things to say XD
But for the sake of others, I was wondering if I've got to go in and hand change them all? Or should I ignore it? (I thought it was my own computer doing it, howeva.)
