"That Little Sweet Girl" jaja. Hehe, well, I came up with
this Idea while i was singing the Hello Kitty imagination
song to myself. And i really want to write this story.

Chapter 1. The Introduction.

I blew my nose in a tissue, as Charles...my lawyer, plopped a huge pile of yellow folders in front of me. I reached to the one nearest to me, and a black and white photo of...us, fell out. My old band, the one that made me cry at night when i wished i was young again, even tough i was merely 23. I stared at Tom, whose arm was limply around my shoulders, and he deathly stared at the camera. He was a true rock star. My hair was wavy, and bright, nothing compared to the dyed brown it is now, and i had a giant fake sunflower clumping back the part of my hair that covered my face. Sarah was sitting on the ground holding her drum sticks in her hands, as Bill stood behind her with his hands on his hips. They were cool, ****, I was pretty cool myself. Well, at least i thought i was.
"Ms. Sanders?" I heard Charles call from behind me, and i spun around in the hard chair i was in. He walked over to the desk i was at, he smelt of old man cologne, and his fake white teeth smiled at me, as he placed a boring pink and black notebook in front of me, with about 5 pens and 2 pencils.
"Just write down...everything" He smiled, acting like he was the raddest guy in the world with his stripped tie.
"Well. What ever." I grabbed a black pen, and flipped open the cover of the notebook, to find the black page stare at me. I couldn&#39;t remember it all. i really couldn&#39;t.
"Well, everything is in those folders. I&#39;ll be in a meeting if you need me" he walked out of the room. Leaving me alone with 500 folders of my past, and a notebook with pens. Joy.

I ripped off the pen cap with my teeth, and pressed it to the paper, slowly writing in my sloppy cursive.
"My name is Mimi Sanders, and I am being sued for $500,000,000 by my former manager Pete Dally".

Chapter 2 : It all began here.


I think it started out when i was 16...no no, 17. Deffinetly. I was skipping off Spanish class with Sarah, or was it French? I dunno. Well, we were sitting in the music room, with out friend Kara, and staring at the gorgeous boys who walked around our school campus.
Kara sighed, "When will they EVER notice us?".
"When we grow boobs, and wear jeans that cut off our circulation" I leaned against a wall, pulling back my hair.
"Hey, just because YOU don&#39;t have boobs, doesn&#39;t mean you have to take us all in with yah" Sarah snapped at me, and i stuck out my tongue. I hated myself. I was 17 and was probably the only girl who could get away without wearing a bra. Yeah it was THAT pathetic.

But I remember it, yeah I think it was me. I remember even saying "Hey guys! Let&#39;s start a band", and after that i got my nails done 3 times shorter and took out my black and white guitar out from the old dusty attic. The one that i gave my parents **** about, until i got it. Once i got it for Christmas, i pouted on how my nails were going to get ruined.
Well, Kara and I put together some money to buy her a bass, and a mic for me, and then bullied Sarah into blowing her Batmizfah money on a drum kit.
Our times bawling on my couch watching the Chick Flicks of the century, turned into rocking out in my room, with covers and writing out own song.
Every time, after we packed our things, and Kara and Sarah had left, i looked at my poster on the left of my bed, the poster of Dani L, the best singer/writer of all time. My idol. She gave me hope, hope that one day, i will be the girl with boobs and a mic, jamming on my guitar. That i would gain enough energy to walk up to one of those hot boys at my school.
Yeah...like that would ever happen.

Well, we bullied Sandy McCoy into letting us play at her sweet 16, it would be out first gig ever. I was so excited, and i even let Kara make us these cheap plastic outfits with stars.
The day before the time of our lives, i hear a hard knock at my bedroom door. I closed my song notebook and ran over opening the door to see Sarah standing there with a Hot Topic bag.
"Oh no" were the only words i was able to say before she pulled me into the bathroom, locking it behind her and shoving my head under the sink. First it was dyed blonde, then a bright pink.
"Mimi! I gotta wee now!" I heard my brother Bobby yell from outside the door, and as soon i stepped foot out i heard the little boy screams and then him running down stairs to "tell on me".
So i walked downstairs to find my dad with a disposable camera, and my mother almost crying because i finally showed my side of "Teen Rebellion". Yeah, that would be nice.

Chapter 3 : first gigs are less important than poop. -_-


My dress rode up on my fishnet stockings, as i sat in the leather chair with Sarah and Kara at Sandy McCoy&#39;s sweet 16. Yeah let&#39;s just say, this party was worse than the WIFI at the library. I think there were more nerds than a Star Wars Dress Up Party. Her mother pulled us off the little stage we set up to eat jello and shop rite brand ice cream, yeah it really was nerd central.
I was sitting next to this boy with bright green hair, and he was mumbling something to his two buddies. Sarah and I were at the music store yesterday, and invited them just to put a little action into this party...i don&#39;t think it worked.
"So...What&#39;s the name of your band?" The green hair dude asked me, and i almost choked on my jello.
"Uhmmm"...
"Imaginative Rainbows" Sarah pipped in and i gave her a confused look as she continued.
"Yeah, i think we got it from the style of MiMi&#39;s room." She giggled and nudged Kara as I thought of the terrible image of my room, which hasn&#39;t been remodeled since i was five. It was covered in my Hello Kitty rainbows and cupcakes, with power puff girl bedsheets. Isn&#39;t that a great place to bring a boy to?

Well it all really happened the day i was at work...a waiter at the outback steakhouse. I think i won 3 attractive points.
Well i was sent to serve a table, which so happened to be the green hair guy from the nerd party. His name was like..Dean or something.
But we got talking, and he said our band was pretty hot, and if we wanted to play at some concert his brother was having next week.
I nodded, and then as soon as i got off my shift, i called up Sarah and Kara...our first REAL gig, was coming, and it completely was going to beat Sandy McCoy&#39;s sweet 16.

chapter 4 : Mysterious Boys?


I stood back in our dressing room. It wasn&#39;t big, and it smelt of a mixture of faded air freshener and cigarettes.
"I look like a dork don&#39;t i?" I said for probably the 700th time, and i could see Kara getting annoyed. Sarah was leaning against a wall staring at her nails, looking cool as usual with her baggy hipster jeans, with tight tank tops, and Then Kara with her model legs and mini skirts. My new pink hair was flat down, and i was wearing a pair of plain blue skinny jeans with a boring shirt.
"I look like a normal average girl...with no boobs" I complained and i stared at my hideous reflection in the mirror.
Before I knew it, I was walking up that stage. My legs felt like jelly, and my head hurt, but as I stood in front of the microphone, holding my guitar, I calmed. The light was warm and comforting, and the sound of applause made me smile. I couldn’t see the audience’s faces, and that helped…a lot. I looked to my left, and I saw Kara holding her base and she nodded and smiled, and I looked behind me to see Sarah as she banged her drumsticks together and we played our music.

I never felt that way before. The way my fingers moved over the strings of my guitar, the way my voice rose when I sang the chorus. I felt amazing.

“I think I just died a little bit on the inside” Kara jumped and I smiled.
“I’m never doing that again! DID you see the freaking amount of people staring at us?” Sarah groaned and plopped on the couch.
“What ever! There are people outside, who wanna talk to us!” Kara jumped as she grabbed my arm and pulled me outside, to be faced with cameras and questions.

“How did you guys start?”
“Seeing any boy special?”
“What on earth did you do to you hair?”
“Are you in my world history class?”

I was attacked by people I didn’t even know, and I was distracted by one boy. He was a different boy. He didn’t have green hair, and I wasn’t staring at him from my music room window. But he was staring at me, with his gleaming eyes, and I felt a tad awkward. I acted cool. What would Dani L do in a situation like this?
I walked slowly, causally inching myself towards the boy. He didn’t stop staring.
“So are you gonna stare at me all night?” I smiled and put my hand on my hip.
“Yeah I think so” He nodded, and his dreads fell over his shoulders. His clothes were extremely baggy, and his hat was to the side. He was cute. I guess.

"Your band sucks" The boy said, still staring at me, and i gave him a dirty look.
"Yeah right, it&#39;s probably better than your pathetic ***!" I snapped at him, how could i have ever thought he was cute?!
"Hey, if anything I&#39;m trying to help you. Your guitar playing is terrible, and your bassist is to afraid to treat her base like crap" He gave me a dirty look back.
"So? We&#39;re a beginner band." Kara jumped in, insulted by his comment against her bass playing and I nodded in agreement.
"We don&#39;t need scumbags like you insulting us" I added in as Kara and I spun around to leave, but the boy grabbed my by the arm.
"You need me" he gripped tighter to my arm.
"haha, NO, you need to work on your social skills." I pulled off and he had a grin on his face.
"Listen, I could fix you guys. Me and my bro Bill, are kick ***, and we will create you." He smiled and I scoffed.
"What ever. Give me your number and MAYBE we&#39;ll call you. But don&#39;t get your hopes up." I put my hand on my hip as he scribbled some digits on a spare sheet of paper, and I snatched it out of his hand, and walked away with Kara, putting some bounce into my walk.
"My names Tom by the way" he called after me and i stopped and looked back and said "what ever" and then continued walking.
I was better than a guy named Tom with his stupid dreads, and stupid piercing. And i hated the fact i was going to even TRY and flirt with him. Ugh, just terrible.

In the end it was Kara who called. She was tired of playing her bass and wanted to desperately play the keyboard. Sarah and i hit out foreheads and just dreaded the day that was to come, to have Tom and his stupid brother Bill constantly insult us on how badly we sucked.
Ew...

I ran to the door, just to see my dad had beaten me to it.
"Yeah, well i prefer The Beatles than that new...heavy metal crap" I heard my father say, and i heard Tom say "yes yes".

Chapter 6 : A Band?

Tom finished playing our song "Beyond the Rainbow" [example lyric - &#39;Living on beyond the rainbow you take me far from here&#39;] and i had to admit, it sounded great.

"It was okay" I shrugged.
"Mimi, shut up, you had to admit, it was better than anything we&#39;ve ever played" Kara scoffed at me, Sometimes i hated her. ugh.
"Okay fine, it was a lot better." I sat on my bed next to Bill who was taking off his bass, and his hair practically stabbed me in the eyes.
“Okay, so what do we do now?” Tom asked.
“You guys are in. I want a keyboard, NOT a bass” Kara jumped up and I gave her a deathly stare.
“Uhm, don’t we have a say?” I scoffed and pointed to Sarah and I, as Kara nodded.
“I say their in” Sarah crossed her arms and smiled.
“Fine.” I stared at the floor, and I could feel Tom staring at me, probably laughing at the fact I gave in. I barely knew this guy and he already got on my last nerve.





“And Then just take me with you…never again” I finished the last line of our song “For Gabriel” and I heard Tom yell “Okay!”.
I walked out of the recording studio to see Tom messing around with some knobs and things. Sarah, Kara, and Bill walked out to get lunch, and Tom wouldn’t let me leave until I finished my part.
We weren’t doing to good with getting a manager, and having gigs, but we all decided that Sandy McCoy’s party…never happened.

It’s been two months, and we’ve improved…a lot.

Chapter 7 : Paul! xD


We just finished our cover of a Beatles song, and we jumped off stage, highfiving each other and giving hugs.
I saw Tom wander off to the bar, and i was stuck wandering around, sipping my diet coke and talking to random people who thought our band was rad. That made me happy.
"Aye Mimi! Come over here" Tom called me to the bar where he was talking to a man. A young man, maybe 20 or so. He was cute, like Abercrombie model cute, and i liked that.
"Mimi, this is Paul, Paul...Mimi" Tom said, as i put my hand out for a good handshake, but Paul took my hand and softly kissed it, leaving me blushing.
"He wants to manage us" Tom continued.
"Seriously? Wow, that would be amazing" I smiled as the rest of the band came over.
"We would love a manager, really" Kara smiled at Paul as him and Tom exchanged numbers.
"You will definetly be hearing from me" Paul gave us a big smile, and we all dashed out of that bar...we were double parked.

"So, Bill told me that Paul called yesterday, he wants us to like sign some papers and ****" Sarah smiled, and we all jumped up. We were walking around campus, and were being followed by some young girls who were laughing at my bright colored Nikes.
"Well ,I think we need to write a new song" I said as we all sat on a bench, and I handed Kara my French homework to copy.
Sarah opened up her phone, to continue in her little texting world with our new bassist Bill. Yeah, the one with killer hair. Literally...killer.
I thought about the band. Were we gonna get big? Famous? Popular? I dunno.
I sat there, I could just imagine our music video to our song "For Gabriel".
Tom and I would be sitting in the recording studio, playing out guitars with music spread all over us,
Cut to Bill flat ironing his giant hair, and then polishing his bass.
Cut to Sarah in her room, practicing to spin her drumsticks, and then getting aggravated and throwing them into a multi colored waste basket.
Cut to Kara in a store trying to fit into a skin tight top, and flipping off some younger kids.
Cut to the whole band in the recording studio for the remainder of the song.

We were going to do good. I could feel it. :}

Chapter 8: California Boys.


"Thank you." I yelled into the mic, as our band exited the stage and the band &#39;California Boys&#39; came on, blasting thiner number one hit &#39;Take me out&#39;. We were opening for one of the biggest bands in history, and we barely enjoyed it. My parents were in the front row, taking out their cameras and taking pictures of their daughter. But i swear...i was adopted.
"Great job guys. Now mingle a little, get to know some of the producers and what not, its good for your image" Paul clapped and we walked around, sipping out diet cokes in wine glasses.
I was talking to a reporter from people magazine and he was asking me questions.
"So..you and Tom seem to be close at times, is there anything going on between you?" He asked. I think his name was mike or something.
"Yeah, we&#39;ve actually been married for 4 years, but it&#39;s only legal in the state of Kentucky" I smiled and Mike laughed at my sarcasm.
"So, is it true you&#39;re a virgin?" He asked with a grin on his face.
"Ugh" I scoffed, "Well I&#39;m 17, and I&#39;m a sexually active teenager." I shrugged, and he laughed again, jotting some notes down on his notepad.
"But yeah, it is true, and I don&#39;t think it&#39;s a bad thing."
he nodded in agreement.

I walked over to Tom. He was talking to a blonde bimbo with her boobs practically popping out of her shirt.
I scoffed and walked away to see Kara already making with the drummer of &#39;California Boys&#39;, and to my left, Bill and Sarah had two Gameboys hooked together, and seemed to very into a game.
Well here i was, left alone.
I sat on a chair, and was approached by Paul.
"Hey doll" he clicked his tongue. Wow he was so perfect. Maybe 20, but perfect.
"Ayee" I smiled.
"Why the long face? You are deffinetly the heart of this band. If anything, these guys are just backups for when you fall" He laughed, and i looked at him with a confused look.
"Really?" I asked.
"Of course, if you wanted you could go solo, but your a minor, and i don&#39;t think you want your parents following you around. Once you hit 18, BAM, you&#39;re in the zone baby" He smiled.
What was he trying to get me into?

Chapter 9: Singing in the Rain


"ow" I yelled as i slipped on a puddle of water. It&#39;s been a week, a week of fans, autographs, concerts, and breaking amps with guitar solos. Our schedule was tight, and studying for my exams was killing. I got at least 3 hours of sleep a day. The newspapers and magazines were going ballistic of the fact i was a "Flat Chested Famous Virgin" and how so many famous artists were trying to get into my pants. It was a Saturday morning and we were nearly done with shooting our new music video. Did i mention that it took place in the rain? I had to run through the streets singing our song "With Out You" and meet up with the rest of the band in Times Square. Where there was a stage where we played on and the fans screamed and jumped in slow motion.
It was a hot video, but i hated doing it. I fell for the 7th time slipping on a puddle as i ran.
"Okay MiMi get up and try it again" Paul yelled to me from a mega phone, and gave him a dirty look, walking back to the beginning of the street where Tom was standing.
"God MiMi, is this that hard? I&#39;ll friggin put on a wig and run through this in like 5 minutes" Tom scolded me.
"Shut up you asshole." I pushed him as the Directer yelled "GO!" and i began to run.
...
I think i fell 12 times before we actually got it perfect.

I sat in the recording studio the next day. I was listening to the songs that were going to be on the new album.
It was dark, and the only light was the one in the recording part of the studio where the mics were. I heard giggling from behind me, and i spun around only to see darkness, but i sensed someone was in the room.
I got up off my chair quietly.
"Tom. You&#39;re so bad" i heard a girl voice, and rolled my eyes, walking to the light switch.
I turned on the light to see Tom and that Blonde Bimbo practically puncturing each others faces.
"Ugh. You guys are sick" I walked out grabbing my bag, and i made sure that our songs were still blasting in the background.
