I guess you figured out my decision
Yes that's right, I'm writing a sequel to Stop Rewind...
I couldn't take it any longer and I relented
So here's the first installment
I hope you like it as much as I do...

“Where the **** am I?!” Melanie said and blew out a breath that made her bangs lift off her forehead. She glanced down at her plane ticket and did a slow spin. I knew I shouldn’t have gone to the bathroom, I should’ve just waited! ******! She looked at her watch anxiously and cursed under her breath. I’m no good with directions, I shouldn’t have told them to go on without me.
Bill, Tom, and Lynn had all left to check their bags while she went to the restroom.
“You look at little lost” someone said behind her. She immediately reached into her pocket to touch her little can of Mace as she turned around. You could never be too prepared. An older man stood there with important looking i.d. and she let out a breath.
“Umm, yeah, I am trying to find gate 29, but I’m kinda…lost.” she said.
“Let me help you with that.” the guy, bearing a nametag saying Mark, said and took her ticket. As he read it, Mark glanced at his watch and furrowed his brow.
“You just go straight down this hallway and it is the last terminal on your left. You better hurry, boarding has almost ended.” he said and passed her the ticket.
“****! Ok, thanks Mark.” she said and took off at a run to the terminal. She ran through the door leading to the entrance to the plane just as a worker was shutting it.
Bill stood at the end of the hallway pacing back and forth as a nervous flight attendant repeatedly asked him to enter the plane. He shook her off several times and checked his watch anxiously.
“Where the **** is she?” he muttered.
“Sir, you need to come in the plane. We have to set off.” the woman begged.
“Would you just give it a **** minute please?!” he said through clenched teeth.
“Bill! Don’t leave! I’m coming!” he heard Melanie’s voice drift from the end of the hallway.
“Come on!” he said and heaved a sigh of relief. At least she didn’t get hijacked, he thought and shook his head. They entered the plane and sat down in a huff.
“ ‘Bout time.” Lynn said over the top of her A.P. magazine. She sat with one of her hands lazily linked in Tom’s as they sat in companionable silence.
“Hush, you know I’m not good with directions.” Melanie said and reached for her headphones. Lynn was about to reply when she noticed the color drain from Tom’s face as the plane roared to life.
“Are you okay?” she asked
“I hate flying.” he said and squeezed her hand until her knuckles turned white.
“It’s ok, just take a deep breath and close your eyes.” she said. He stayed like that for the majority of the ten hour flight and by the time the plane landed, Lynn’s hand had gone into shock.
“Thank you.” Tom said and kissed her aching fingers. “I’m sorry, but I’m always worried that the plane will go down. I’m just paranoid I guess.”
“It’s fine. That’s what I’m here for, support.” She smiled and reached above her for her bag. All four left the plane and entered the crowded airport to grab their bags. The four teens retrieved their luggage from the baggage claim and surveyed their surroundings. The place was busy with people jostling past each other to get to their respective planes. They left to go outside and stood in the brisk air while they waited for a cab.
“So this is Germany.” Bill said and looked around.

I'm glad you guys like it so far...
Comment more please
I gotta know that it is good enough to go forward with...
here's some more

The air was clean, the streets were wet, and the people were busy. It reminded Tom of California, well except for the clean air part. He took a deep breath in to remember the feeling and looked to his friends.
“Are we all set to get a cab?” he asked as his friends nodded. He easily linked one of his hands with Lynn and carried his and her bags in the free one.
“Mel, go stick your thumb out or show some leg and get us one!” Bill said and poked her in the ribs. She stuck her tongue out at him and proceeded to lift the end of her pants and point her leg out to the street.
“How’s this?” she said with a laugh and yelped when Bill grabbed and threw her over his shoulder.
“Ok, you two. Let’s get a cab.” Lynn said and led the group over to a waiting cab
once Bill released Melanie.
“Ummm… Vier, acht, drei Trommelnstraßen bitte ?*” Lynn said uncertainly as she climbed in the cab looking through her translation booklet.
“So this is Magdeburg,” Bill commented as he looked out the window, “I like it!”
“Me, too!” Melanie replied with her head resting on her hand, “though it is a little rainy.”
The four pulled up to a two story white house with green shutters. It was quaint and had a small iron gate going around the front yard. It was charming and comfy, not something
you would expect from a twenty-one year old.
“This is Georg’s place?! I thought he’d be in a loft or bachelor pad thing!” Tom said looking at the cozy house.
“Maybe this is the wrong place.” Bill commented as he unloaded their bags. Lynn leaned in the passenger window and handed the cab driver a few bills.
“Vielen Dank, behält die Änderung.” Lynn said to a confused looking driver who beamed when she finished her sentence.
“Ummm, danke, danke!” he said and sped off. Lynn looked to Tom with a shrug. He laughed and shook his head.
“You just tipped him eight-seven bucks.” he said and laughed at her angry expression.
“****!” she said and then added with a chuckle, “or should I say ********?”
The two couples strode up to the house and reluctantly knocked on the door. The door swung open revealing a little old woman. She was about 5’1’with a round little body, dark brown hair, kind blue eyes surrounded by smile lines that ran around her mouth also.
“Empfang, Freunde von Georg. Es ist so nett, Sie zu treffen. Bitte kommen Sie herein! Schauen Sie an, wie gut anschauen diese Kinder Georg sind!” she said as Georg peeked out from behind her. He immediately beamed and looked to the elderly woman.
“Sicher, Oma, sicher.” he said and rolled his eyes. “Guys this is my grandmother. You
can just call her Oma.”
The woman rushed up to the crowd and tightly hugged all of them. When she was finished she turned to Georg and surveyed the teens.
“Die Mädchen sind hübsch, aber die Jungen schauen Art von ungewöhnlich an. Ist das wie sie alle Aussehen in Kalifornien?” she inquired
“Nein sind Bill und Tom wahrheitsgemäß einmalig.” he replied with a laugh. Bill and
Tom looked at each other with at the mention of their names and Georg said,
“Don’t worry I’ll explain later. It’s so good to see you!” he said and gave a round of hugs to all of them. “Mae they’re here!” he yelled up the stairs and a high-pitched squeal was soon heard. She tromped down the stairs and launched herself onto Melanie and Lynn at the same time.
“I’m soooo glad you guys are finally here! This place is so amazing, I’ve wanted you guys to experience it so bad!” she said out of breath. She had a light smile on her face
and a glow in her eyes.
“You look really good. Two months here has really made you look nice.” Melanie commented.
“Oh, thanks…” Mae said blushing, “I guess I’m just really happy.” She glanced at Georg with a smile and looked down at her hands.
“I didn’t know you lived with your grandma.” Lynn said to Georg who was staring at Mae.
“Oh yeah, this is her house and she raised me along with my grandfather. When he died a year ago, I moved back in with her to keep her company. She’s really cool.” he said.
“She seems like it.” Bill said.
“So now that you’re here,” Georg said clapping his hands together, “You wanna go out?”
“Definitely.” Tom said with a grin.
“Just because you are of legal drinking age here doesn’t mean you have to drink.” Lynn said patting his stomach.
“Hell yes I am. I am taking full advantage!” he said with a wink at her.
“Let’s go!” Georg said and grabbed his keys.

* I’m pretty sure this translation is wrong, but Lynn is supposed to say, " 483 Drum Street please."
Then Lynn is supposed to say “Thank you, keep the change.”
Later Georg’s grandmother says “Welcome, friends of Georg. It is so nice to meet you. Please do come in! Look how good-looking these children are Georg!”
Georg then replies, “Sure, grandma, sure.”
She later says, “The girls are pretty, but the boys look kind of odd. Is that how they all look in California?” and he replies with:
“No, Bill and Tom are truly unique.”

I thought some of good ol' German would do the story good!

I'm happy that all 2 of you guys like it, but I need some more comments! I'll post one now to thank you guys, but I want some more!!!!!!!!

The ride to the club was eventful. It included several near-accidents (one near rear-ending, one almost head on collision, and several close calls involving pedestrian collisions) in Magdeburg’s busy streets, and a speeding ticket for Georg. Everyone thought it was well-deserved. He was the fastest and most aggressive driver that they had ever seen. And they had seen some pretty bad ones! They pulled up to a little place called, “Wolfgang’s”. Despite the somewhat outdated name, the club was hip to the 21st century. It included several oxygen bars, numerous dance floors, and three d.j.’s. When they walked in, they were immediately surrounded by loud German rap complete with thumping bass and flashing laser lights.
“Good grief!” Mae said and scrambled to catch up with Georg, who was confidently weaving his way through the crowd.
“This place is bigger than our whole town!” Lynn said while struggling to fit through two large dancing men without being punched in the face.
“Bill!” Melanie yelled, catching glimpses of his all-too-spiky hair, “I’m lost!” she said and threw her hands in the air with a huff. “I’m following you.” she said and linked arms with Lynn and Tom.
They reached their destination, a small booth in the corner, and Lynn immediately led Tom out onto the dance floor with a flirtatious tug on his arm and an alluring smile. Melanie took drink orders and headed over to the bar while Mae sat uncomfortably at the table listening to the music. Bill stood in the corner chatting with Georg and occasionally turnied a protective eye in Melanie’s direction. Mae finally stood up with a heavy sigh and said, “This isn’t my kind of music, but I just gotta dance!” and yanked Georg out to the dance floor. Bill laughed at their departing figures and sat down to await Mel’s return.

“Hi, I need two virgin strawberry daiquiris, three beers, and a dirty martini for me.” she said and smiled to herself. I’ve always wanted to say that, dirty martini, she thought. She had to control the urge to say shaken, not stirred and busied herself by drumming lightly on the bar. She looked to where her friends were dancing. Though none of them knew how to bump and grind, they all looked like they were having fun dancing like spazzes.
“Can I buy you a drink?” a deep, heavily accented voice said to the left of her. She swung around and said, “No thanks, already taken care of.” before she saw the speaker. She turned her gaze upon a short, nicely built guy of about 19 with blond hair and dark brown eyes.
“Of course a beautiful girl like you would have someone get you a drink already. My apologies.” he said with a bright smile.
“Oh, I didn’t mean…I already bought a drink.” she clarified with a sweet smile, “but I really can’t accept one anyway.”
“Boyfriend?” he asked and she nodded her head, “A shame. Well allow me to introduce myself anyways. My name is Gustav.” he said and shook her hand lightly.
“I’m Melanie. Nice to meet you.” she said as the bartender set all the drinks down on the bar.
“Are all these for you?!” he asked and automatically reached to help her.
“NO! No, these are for my friends.” she said with a smile.
“Are you from around here? I don’t think I hear an accent, plus we are speaking in English.” he said with another one of his ear-to-ear smiles.
“No, my friends and I are from America. We are spending the summer here.” she said and began to grab the drinks. She looked to him for help and he gladly offered her a hand with half of the drinks.
“Do you want to join my friends and I?” she asked.
“Yes, I would like that.” he said and they made their way to the table. Bill sat there playing with his fingernails when they walked up. He looked up and immediately stood with his chest puffed out, to no avail, and swung his arm around Melanie’s shoulders. He started to speak and then cleared his throat and spoked in a voice several notes lower than the norm.
“Can I help you?” he said gruffly.
“Melanie invited me to hang out with her boyfriend and friends.” Gustav said putting emphasis on the “boyfriend” part to show that he understood the situation.
“That’s right,” she said and punched Bill playfully, “So you can stop acting all manly now.” At that, Bill sighed in relief and put his hand out to shake Gustav’s.
“I'm Bill. Nice to meet you.” he said and Gustav returned the greeting.
Soon after the other two couples rejoined Melanie and Bill and introductions were made all around. Of course, at the sight of the handsome newcomer, Georg and Tom both instinctively pulled their girlfriends closer to them. After it was made clear that Gustav knew of the separate couples, the guys all got to talking. Gustav made friends with every one of them and was quickly invited to hang out with them the next day.
They all decided it was time to leave and headed outside. Gustav said he had to work early the next morning and bid them goodbye saying that he would see them tomorrow night. Tom and Lynn decided that they wanted to explore more and promised the others that they had their phones turned on and charged.
“We’ll be fine.” Lynn assured them. “I’ve got my big strong man to protect me.” she added to rolled eyes.
“Oh, I feel so much better now.” Melanie said sarcastically and laughed.
“Just be careful.” Mae said as the four turned to leave.
“We will.” Tom said and rested his arm over Lynn’s shoulders as they walked away. They strolled in companionable silence and looked at the sights. They turned down a corner and Lynn’s hip grazed Tom’s as she smiled.
“You better watch it.” she teased.
“Oh, I believe it is YOU who should watch it.” he said with a growl and grabbed her around the waist and pulled her close. The two giggled and teased each other in between soft kisses and made their way to the end of the street. They were still laughing when a dark figure stepped out in front of them.
“Don’t move.”

COME ON PEOPLE COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok i give up...I'll just post for no reason!
Ok so I may be overdoing it a little bit!
Here's more...

Lynn inhaled sharply as she saw the large man turn the corner in front of them and utter the words, “Don’t move.” She immediately froze and tightened her grip on Tom’s hand. He clenched her hand in return and moved himself slowly in front of her, blocking her with his body.
“Can I help you?” Tom asked gingerly, trying not to jump to conclusions.
“Shut up and put your backs against the wall.” the man said gruffly and thrust a hand with a gun in it at the couple. Tom couldn’t see the kind of gun it was because the hand was in the shadows.
“Look, I can give you whatever you need.” Tom said holding his hands up, “Just let her go and you and I can figure something out.”
“How sweet.” the bulky man said with a hint of a slur. “Just give me your wallet and no one will get hurt.” he said and began to totter over to them.
Lynn found that she wasn’t scared of the man anymore just ****** off. She was still hidden behind Tom and thanked God for Tom’s oversized shirt as she pulled her cell phone out. She tugged the cloth outwards to cover the glow of the phone and texted Melanie telling her to call the police.
Tom looked at the man questioningly when he heard the man’s next command.
“Keep your hands in the air and touch your toes.” he said and shook his head.
“Ok…-how can I keep my hands in the air and then touch my toes.” Tom ventured to ask.
“Just do it fairy Mary.” the man said and thrust the gun out of the shadows to where the couple could see it.
“Ok, ok sorry.” Tom said trying to pacify the man. He looked at the gun in the light more clearly and realized that it was a….bottle?
“Are you drunk?” Tom asked immediately relieved.
“No, I’m not, lilac. Now fork over the ho.” he said and Tom laughed bitterly.
“Fork over the ho? Don’t you mean the dough?!” he said and began to giggle, but immediately sobered. “You threatened my girlfriend! I’ll kick your ***!” he said and chased after the still tottering man down the street.
Lynn stood there shocked looking at her boyfriend’s receding form and burst out laughing. She pulled out her phone and called Melanie while she watched Tom proceed to literally kick the drunk in the ***. Lynn laughed again as she noted how fast drunk people could run. He pulled him to the ground and sat on his back while he caught his breath.
“Hello, Lynn, are you ok?!” Melanie yelled in the phone. Lynn was laughing so hard that she couldn’t breathe or answer her friend.
“Oh God, she’s being killed!” Melanie shrieked when all she heard was heavy breathing. Lynn could hear an uproar of voices in the background when Melanie finished her statement.
“No,…no I’m ok.” Lynn said with tears streaming down her face.
“We just got held up by a drunk with a bottle of Smirnoff!” she said and sunk into another fit of giggles as flashing red lights approached. Tom came up to her, dragging the passed out drunk and set him against the wall.
“Holy ****, Lynn. Don’t scare me like that! You better get your butt home quick!” Melanie said and hung up.
Tom pulled Lynn into a hug and started to shake. She sobered and looked at him.
“Are you ok? He didn’t hurt you did he?” she asked and began to search for signs of blood.
“I’m fine. I just thought for a minute there that we were goners.” he admitted and kissed her fiercely. They stayed in that position until someone came up and tapped Tom on the shoulder. He immediately threw his hand out and pushed the person away and raised his fists as if preparing for another fight.
“Hallo, calm down I’m here to help. What seems to be the issue?” a police officer said, registering that they were American.
“Oh,” Tom said lowering his fists while Lynn flew into another fit of giggles.
“This drunk guy just tried to rob my girlfriend and I with a bottle of alcohol.” Tom said and kicked the drunk’s foot.
“Oh, I see. We will take care of this, you can go back to your business.” the officer said and reached to lift the sleeping man. Tom shrugged to Lynn and pulled her close for another firework-exploding, gut-busting, shoe-popping kiss.
“What was that for?” Lynn said looking up at him with hazy eyes, a little breathless.
“He said to go back to our business.” he said sheepishly and tugged her along. She was still a little dizzy from the kiss and shook her head to clear her thoughts.
“We should be held up at bottle point more often.” she said with a giggle and tugged him back for another kiss.
“I love you.” she whispered against his lips and he smiled against hers.
“I love you, too.” he said and kissed her forehead. They linked fingers and headed back to Georg’s house where they spent the next two hours recounting the story to their sleepy-eyed friends.

UGHHH I need some more comments...

“I didn’t know that they had a Hot Topic in Germany!” Lynn squealed and pulled Melanie and Mae into the store with wide eyes.
“You know Lynn isn’t like a lot of other girls. She doesn’t usually get giggly when it comes to shopping,” Tom said casually and looked at Lynn when Georg, Bill, and he entered the store. She picked up a Death Cab For Cutie shirt and jumped up and down in the air with a huge grin on her face. At that sight Tom added, “well except when it comes to Hot Topic.” and chuckled lightly while shaking his head. The guys toured the store, gazing at the band t-shirts and walked down to the next aisle in the back of the store.
“God, I love this place!” Melanie said and picked up a red and black corset top and smiled evilly, adding it to the already huge pile of clothes she had stuffed in her arm.
“She is going to end up spending all her money.” Mae commented and looked around uncomfortably. She was wearing a frilly pink halter top and looked as out of place as a nine year old with pigtails in a biker bar.
“This really isn’t your kind of place is it?” Lynn inquired.
“Well it’s nice, but I don’t really-” she was cut of by loud raucous laughter from the back of the store. The girls turned to look and could only see their boyfriends from the neck up, laughing rather obnoxiously.
“What are they up to?” Melanie said and began to walk over. She stopped short with her jaw dropped and Lynn collided with her back.
“What the- Oh my God.” Lynn said when she came upon the sight. Georg stood their with a pink and black lacy bra on over his shirt, his lips were puckered out and he was raising his eyebrows up and down. Bill stood on his right with a black thong, complete with a garter, on over his jeans with his butt stuck out shaking it at his older brother, who was doubled over in laughter.
“Wow guys, if you want we can give you a few minutes alone to finish your little rendezvous.” Lynn said with a laugh as Tom roared even louder.
“That’s a good look for you, Bill.” Melanie said in between giggles as Bill stood straight up, finally noticing that someone else was there besides the boys. He quickly ripped off the thong and threw it over his shoulder with an innocent look. Georg’s face turned bright red as he tried to pull off the bra. He struggled to get it unhooked and brought an embarrassed gaze up to meet Mae’s. She could only stand there and blush as she watched her boyfriend fiddle with the clasp of the bra. *I never thought that I would live to see the day that I had a boyfriend who wore women’s lingerie*.
“Come here, I’ll help you.” Bill said impatiently, eager to rid them of the evidence of their tomfoolery.
“I guess you haven’t unhooked too many of those things in your time, have you Georg?” Tom said laughing at his embarrassed friend and brother. Lynn rolled her eyes, but joined in with Melanie and Tom’s laughter. Mae suddenly reached into her purse with a laugh and pulled out her phone and took a picture of Bill unhooking Georg’s lacy bra.
“Oh, this is just too good!” Melanie said when she looked at the picture. Georg finally freed himself from the straight jacket of a bra. He threw it down and looked to Mae and shrugged as if to say, “What can I say? You caught me.”
“Did anyone else notice that Georg had an easier time putting on the bra than taking it off?!” Bill said to loud laughter and headed out of the store.
“This has got to be one of the best weeks of my life!” Lynn said looking to her friends. “First, I arrive in Germany, GERMANY! Second, Tom and I get mugged by a drunk with a Smirnoff bottle, and third I catch two of my best friends cross-dressing. This is awesome!”

A few hours later, Gustav joined the group and they all continued to tour downtown Magdeburg. The girls went into another clothing store and the guys decided to continue down the block a little ways to look in an instrument store.
“Guys, I really need to talk to you.” Bill announced over the drum section and the others looked at him questioningly.
“I…I want to ask Melanie to…to…. get a tattoo with me.” he said with a sigh as the other guys started to laugh.
“What?!” he asked, a little hurt.
“The way you made it sound, I thought you were going to say that you were going to ask her to marry you or something.” Tom said and sighed in relief.
“What is so wrong with that?” Bill said indignantly.
“Sorry bro, but you are way too young for that kind of thing.” Tom said honestly.
“But you bought Lynn a promise ring!” Bill said, getting angrier by the minute.
“I bought Lynn a promise ring to promise her that I would never leave her, that we will be together always.” Tom said seriously, folding his arms across his chest.
“Yeah, but don’t they usually mean that you promise to marry someone?! So why can‘t I think about marrying Melanie?” Bill said, trying to prove his point.
“It doesn’t always mean the same thing for everyone, Bill. Though, I will marry Lynn eventually,” he said, completely confident in the fact, “it means something different than that, plus you’re too young!”
“A little heads up, bro, WE”RE THE SAME AGE! Plus you just admitted to thinking about marrying Lynn! So there you bastard!” Bill said and crossed his arms.
“I was thinking future tense! It’s not the same asshole!” Tom said. Georg and Gustav just stood their and watched the twins argue.
“Maybe we should stop this.” Gustav suggested and Georg nodded his head.
“So what’s the big deal about getting a tattoo with Melanie?” Gustav asked, trying to change the subject to end the squabble.
“The big deal is that we would get matching ones. It will be like a symbol of our love! Doesn’t anyone understand that this is a big deal?!” Bill said, exasperated.
“Sure, sure.” Georg said, trying to pacify the spiky-haired teen.
“Anyway, I wanted us to get something meaningful and I was wondering what you guys thought.” he said.
“I think it’s a good idea,” Tom said forgetting about their spat earlier , “It would be nice to have something to kind of link you guys together.”
“Yeah, it really is a good idea.” Gustav said.
Bill let out a long breath and said, “Ok good. Now I just have to figure how to ask her and what to get.”
“You could get her face on your back.” Tom suggested.
“Oh, that’s hideous! I mean…she’s not hideous…just the….tattoo…not. You know what I mean! It wouldn‘t be…right.” he said.
“I don’t know!” Tom said, “I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
“Yeah, maybe.” Bill wasn’t so sure.

“So I’m thinking I want some treats.” Melanie said to Lynn and Mae, quoting their favorite comedian, Dane Cook. The girls all giggled and headed over to find the nearest snack place.
“Oooo they have a Weinerschnitzel!” Lynn said with a laugh and strode into the store.
“What are the odds that they would have a German hotdog place in Germany?” Mae said sarcastically and rolled her eyes as Lynn stuck her tongue out at her.
“So, now that we’re alone…” Lynn said slyly to Mae as they sat down to enjoy their food, “How are things going with Georg?”
“Ohh, I knew this was coming sometime.” she said with a sigh and set down her chilidog.
“Come on, come on. You’ve been here two months all by yourselves, you gotta give us some details.” Melanie said through a mouthful of food.
“Ok, take it easy. It’s been wonderful, wait not wonderful, amazing.” she said and leaned back against her chair. “We are so close now and I just love him.” she said to a chorus of “aw’s” from the other two girls.
“Have you told him that you, you know…love him?” Melanie asked, she tended to shy away from saying the “L-word”. She always questioned the legitimacy of emotions in relationships.
“Actually, yeah. Well he told me first. It was so sweet…” she said trailing off with a tender smile, obviously reverting back to the moment in her head. She sat there with unfocused eyes in some far away place.
“Earth to Mae!!!!!!” Lynn said waving a hand in front of her face, “Are you gonna tell us the story or not?!”
“Oh, yeah sorry, I was kinda in my own world just then.” she said with a blush. “Well he took me to this park. It is this special place for him, he went there a lot after his grandpa died. I guess it helped him clear up his thoughts about his loss. And well, we were talking about not wasting our lives and how precious time is. He said, and I quote, ‘I don’t want to waste your or my time with petty fights and drama.’ At first I thought that he was going to break up with me and I started to like hyperventilate. He asked me what was wrong and he grabbed my hand and kissed my fingers to try to soothe me.,” at this Mae began to blush fiercely, “I asked him if he was going to end things and he quickly said, ‘No, no I mean I love you too much to hurt what we have. I don’t want anything to come between us and the time we have together.’ So we exchanged ‘I love you‘s’. ” she said with a shrug, trying to play it off as nothing, though she couldn’t hide her smile.
“AWWWWW! That is the sweetest thing that I have ever heard!” Lynn said with a soft sigh. Even Melanie was forced to admit that it was quite cute, though she still couldn’t help, but doubt her friend’s feelings.
“So what about you guys? I’ve missed out on stuff too! What about you Lynn?” she said, drawing the attention away from herself.
“Oh, the same ol’ stupendous, remarkable, awesome relationship as always.” she answered with a bored sigh and then laughed at her joke. “Tom really is the best thing in my life…we just make sense. I mean every time I see him, it’s like I’m breathless.” she said, being completely sober for the moment. “I don’t know, I guess it must be his bod.” she added looking down at her food. She was back to her jokes again.
“You guys have like the sweetest story, I mean you were best friends when you were kids and now you’re best friends and in love. It’s perfect!” Mae commented.
“Yeah, I guess we’re pretty lucky.” Lynn said with an embarrassed smile , but the brightness in her eyes unveiled her love for the boy. “So how about you Mel?” she said.
“What about me? There’s nothing to tell.” she said with a shrug, clearly uncomfortable with the topic.
“Come on, we spilled now it’s your turn.” Lynn said, nudging Melanie in the shoulder with a patient smile.
“Look, we both know that you shy away from things involving love, but it’s just us girls. We’re your friends and we’re hear to listen.” Mae said gingerly and placed her hand over Mel’s.
“You guys, I don’t wanna talk about it. Things are good, ok? I really like Bill, but I don’t trust myself to say that I…love him.” she said honestly, “I just don’t know what’s real or not.”
“It’s fine to be like that, Mel. I’ve felt exactly the same way. For what it’s worth, Bill really loves you.” Mae said and squeezed Melanie’s shoulder affectionately.
“Yeah, we’ve all been there. Just do us a favor?” Lynn said looking at her glum friend, “Don’t let questions hinder what you have with Bill, ok?”
“I won’t.” Melanie promised, though she didn’t know if she could let herself go completely. If she was going to do it, then she knew Bill was the person to fall for, she just didn’t know how.

“Would you just give me a minute please?” Lynn said, irritation giving her voice an edge.
“The concert starts in thirty minutes, we have to go!” Tom said in a huff. Lynn raced around the small bedroom in Georg’s house looking for her favorite band t-shirt.
“I can’t find my shirt!” she yelled through the door as Tom paced the hallway alternately checking his watch and glaring at the door.
“If you don’t hurry I’m going to break in there and force you to wear one of my shirts!” he said.
“I would drown in a sea of clothing if I wore one of your shirts!” she said, even in a rush she could come up with a witty comeback.
“Come on!” he said, he really wanted to head over to the venue.
“Just give me a freakin’ minute!” Lynn’s voice was muffled as she hastily picked up discarded shirts and threw them over her shoulder after realizing that they weren’t “the shirt”.
“That’s it.” Tom muttered and jimmied the door open with one of his credit cards. Lynn stood there in her bra and jeans with a look of absolute horror on her face.
“Get out!” she shrieked and modestly covered herself with a pillow from the bed.
“Oh…God…sorry… I didn‘t realize…” he said apologetically, though he couldn’t force himself to look away.
“What did you expect to find in here?! Get OUT!” she said and kicked him in the butt as he left. He stifled a grin and gingerly closed the door behind him. He headed down the stairs to the living room, where everyone else was waiting.
“How’s it coming?” Georg said with a smirk as Tom’s face turned magenta with a blush.
“I assume you heard all of that.” Tom said with a grunt and scuffed his foot on the ground.
“Yep, lucky man.” Bill replied and was promptly punched in the gut by a disgruntled Melanie.
“What?! It was a joke!” he said with a chuckle. “You know you’re the only person that I want to walk in on naked.” With that he put his arm around her as she giggled quickly and looked to the ground. Lynn stalked in and sat down on the couch with a grunt.
“I’m ready.” she said simply and glared at Tom. He responded with a hesitant shrug and headed over in her direction. He sat down next to her and they sat there quietly for a few minutes while he searched her face for the right way to apologize. He finally moved his hips slightly to the left, enough to propel himself into her shoulder, and gave her a soft, teasing shove. She looked at him with a glare and he looked right back at her, his gaze never leaving hers. She looked away with a grunt and he moved his head to block her view. She looked away and he moved yet again to lock his gaze with hers. He gave her a goofy grin and she turned her head to hide the smile that tugged at her lips. He repeated the process until she finally giggled and he set his arm over her shoulder and pulled her in close for quick peck.
The others busied themselves with gathering their things while Melanie sat there gazing intently at the couple. It’s like they know exactly how to read each other, she thought and continued to watch the as the pair made up without even speaking, They just ended their little spat with pure body language!
The teens left for the concert, though they had no idea what they were in for. All Georg said was that the “singer” was really popular in Germany and that they would enjoy it. They went into a large venue full of young Germans and thumping music. Tom’s eyes danced as he looked around.
“This is my kind of place.” he said and high-fived Gustav.
“Amen, to that.” Gustav said and began air drumming while nodding his head to the beat.
“So what’s this guy’s name anyway?” Mae yelled to Georg over the loud music.
“His name is Sammy Deluxe. He’s huge over here.” he answered with a smile.
“What kind of music does he play?” Bill inquired.
“Mainly rap.” Georg answered with an apologetic look to Mae who just shrugged and smiled.
“I’ll get over it.” she said simply and linked arms with him. He knows me too well, she thought with a smile.

The concert ended later that night and the teens left the club hyper from the high-voltage show, especially Tom.
“That was so awesome! I’m so glad I picked up a c.d.!” he beamed as he inspected the album cover.
“Yeah, thanks Georg!” Melanie said and was followed by a chorus of thank you’s.
“No problem guys. You need to get the full German experience.” he said.
“What do you guys want to do next?” Gustav asked, still pumped up from the concert.
“Let’s go over here. I saw this place the other day and it looked kind of sweet.” he said and steered the group to a darkly lit tattoo parlor…

Welcome new reader!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed Stop Rewind enough to read the sequel!

Sorry the post is so late...
I had to pick my sister up from an out of town softball game. It got done really late!
Here it is...

“Oh God not another one.” Melanie said and rolled her eyes. “You already have three! Not that I don’t like your tattoos, but take it easy!”
Bill smiled tensely and pulled Melanie off to the side of the darkly lit German tattoo parlor.
“Look, I wanted to do something really…different with you.” he said and bent to kneel on his knees and looked up at her as he grabbed her hand. Melanie took a step back and began to feel uncomfortable and slightly angry. What was he doing?
Bill took a deep breath and said, “Mel, I know that you don’t like this kind of thing, but no matter how much you dislike it I want you to know that I love you.” he said looking into her eyes.
“Bill, get up off the floor! If you know I don‘t like it then why are you doing it?” she said through clenched teeth.
“Melanie I just wanted you to know how I feel about you! I’ve told you time and time again that I love you and I wanted to prove it to you by getting matching tattoos. God, its not like I was going to ask you to marry me!” he said with an uneasy chuckle.
“Well, thank God for that.” she said and felt Bill’s body stiffen from her touch.
“What’s so wrong with that?!” he said, hurt from the obvious sting.
“Nothing…I just I can’t do this.” Melanie said and shook her head.
“You can’t do what? Get the tattoo or be with me? What are you doing Mel?” he asked distraughtly.
“No, Bill, that’s not what I meant, it’s just the whole ‘love’ thing.” she tried to explain.
“What love thing?! It’s not that hard, Mel! I love you, why can’t you just say it back?” he asked and tugged slightly on her hand.
“It’s not that simple…” she said as tears started to flow down her cheeks.
“Yes it is! There’s me and you, nothing else. You know you feel the same way! Please say you feel the same.” he pleaded, hurt flashing in his eyes.
“I can’t!” Melanie yelled and ran from the store, she had to clear her head.

Lynn stood there browsing through the selections that were plastered on the walls with Tom. She turned casually around and froze when she saw a kneeling Bill.
“What is he doing?!” she hissed between her teeth at a bewildered Tom. He just shook his head back in forth with a look of complete dread on his face.
“He told me he was just going to ask her to get a tattoo with him.” he said and scratched the part of his head that wasn’t covered in any form of headgear.
“She hates stuff like this, Tom. She’s gonna be ******!” Lynn said and sucked in a breath as she watched the couple interact. She pulled her gaze away and shot a glance to Mae who just shook her as if to say, this is bad.
“Oh, ****.” Lynn said as she watched Melanie pull away from Bill and shake her head. She stifled gasp as tears started to spill from Mel’s eyes. She watched as her furious friend yelled out, “I can’t!” and ran out of the parlor.
Everyone stood frozen looking at either Melanie’s retreating form or Bill’s still kneeling one. Even the tattooed workers in the parlor stopped what they were doing to gaze at the teens. Mae broke out of the trance first and flung herself out of the door to follow Melanie. Lynn stole a glance at Bill and noticed his shoulders begin to shake. Her heart went out to him and she took a reluctant step towards him. Tom grabbed her shoulder and shook his head “no” to her. She swallowed and nodded and left to find the other girls.
Tom watched Lynn’s quickly receding frame and uttered a silent prayer for the strength of their relationship, though it obviously hadn’t always been like that. He thought back to that dark time in his life and was extremely grateful to have Bill there to help him through the pain and win back the love of his life. In a way he was almost grateful for the opportunity to help his brother as much as he had helped him with Lynn. At least he hoped that he could help.

Tom slowly walked up behind his shaking brother and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, waiting for a reaction. Bill flinched and relaxed after a moment. Tom could hear him take in a deep breath and exhale slowly.
“What did I do?” Bill said so softly that it was almost inaudible.
“What?” Tom asked almost as softly. He glanced toward Georg and Gustav and nodded at them solemnly. They each nodded in return and left to go back to Georg’s house. They understood that only a brother could help in a moment like this.
“All I wanted was for us to be happy.” Bill said and ran a shaky hand through his dark hair. He was still kneeling on the floor, frozen to the spot as though willing time to rewind what had just happened.
“Just give her time to calm down and you guys can figure this out.” Tom offered and pulled his brother to his feet.
“I-we can’t! She doesn’t love me, what’s the point?” Bill said halfheartedly. He angrily wiped at his tear-stained face and sniffed, meeting Tom’s worried eyes.
“Don’t say that. You know you love her and you can’t let things stay like this.” Tom said seriously, matching his brother’s gaze with his own.
Bill nodded and said, “I know, I just don’t know how I can fix this. All I did was love her!”
“Just give her some time to figure out that she’s crazy about you.” Tom said and ushered his still sniffling brother to the door.
“Ok.” Bill said glumly.
“Let’s go get some candy.” Tom said with a smirk and got a small smile from Bill. He knew that if he couldn’t cheer Bill up, some gummy bears could.

“******!” Melanie screamed through her tears and slammed her fists into her leg. “What the **** is wrong with me?!” She stalked down the unfamiliar street as she released her anger. She heard fast approaching steps and quickly composed herself, ready to face whatever was in store. She turned and saw Mae and Lynn running up. She immediately let go of the stale breath in her lungs in relief and burst into tears once again. She turned and resumed walking, not bothering to wait for her friends.
“Mel! Wait up!” Lynn called and grabbed Melanie’s shoulder.
“Can somebody please tell me why I have to ruin everything?!” Melanie asked to no one in particular, clearly ranting. Mae and Lynn exchanged glances and geared themselves up for more babbling.
“I mean how hard is it?! How hard is it for me to just go for it and not be so ****ing stupid!” she exclaimed as her body shook in grief for the loss of Bill and anger at herself for causing it.
“Melanie, it’s not your fault so please stop your crying.” Lynn said tenderly and put her arm over Melanie’s shoulder. She shrugged away from the touch and continue to yell.
“Ha! But it is my fault! All he wanted was to get a stupid tattoo together, but no I have to be a cold-hearted ***** and ruin everything!” she said angrily.
“Mel, just take a minute to calm down. You are going to start hyperventilating if you don’t quit sometime soon.” Mae urged her friend and dodged flailing arms as Melanie’s rant continued.
“You’re stupid, Melanie, so god**** stupid! Why don’t you just slam your head into a-”
“MELANIE!” Lynn yelled sharply and quieted her friend immediately. “If you don’t cut that **** out this instant I will give you something to complain about.” she said quietly through clenched teeth.
“I’m sorry, it’s just… I’m so stupid!” she cried.
“Fine, then. If you want to continue to beat yourself up, then we’ll let you. Just stop beating up Bill in the process.” Mae said coldly and walked away. Lynn looked to Mel and shook her head slightly.
She sighed heavily and said, “I don’t know what to say to help you with this. I think it is something that you need to figure out on your own, but Mae and I are here when you need us.” she gave Melanie’s arm a reassuring squeeze and left to follow Mae home.

Melanie continued her stroll through Magdeburg’s empty streets. The temperature began to lower and she could feel the chill in her bones. Her breath came out in white smoke in front of her as she shivered and began to make her way home.

Bill sat on a big comfy sofa and stared at the front door willing it to open. Melanie had yet to return to Georg’s house and Bill was afraid something had happened. Everyone else had gone to bed, but he stayed up. He couldn’t sleep without knowing she was safe. ****, he wasn’t able to sleep when she didn’t have a smile on her face. All hope was lost at the possibility of a good night's sleep.
The chair sat in the corner of the living room facing the front door and wide window. He sat there in complete darkness, staring out the window, waiting for any sign of movement. He saw a shadow move up the walkway and to the door and his whole body tensed as he waited for the it to open. She walked in with her arms wrapped around herself, trying to keep warm. She took a couple of soft steps to the stairs and stopped for a moment. She knew he was there. She kept her head held straight forward as if not daring to look into room. Bill watched her body tense and she dropped her head a little and said softly, “I’m sorry.” She made her way up the stairs. Bill heard the sound of a door closing softly and thought it ironic.
“The door closes on us, too.” he muttered bitterly and went into his own room for a restless night of gazing at the ceiling willing things to change.

Glad you guys like it...
Here's some more...

“Rough night?” Oma said in her thick accent, to Melanie as she walked in the kitchen. Melanie’s hair was matted in clumps alternately stuck to the side of her head and jutting out at odd angles. Her eyes were bloodshot and droopy and she yawned loudly and stretched out her arms wide. She nearly collided with the corner of the refrigerator and stumbled over to the table to plop down on one of the seats.
“Yeah, I guess.” Melanie said dismissively not wanting to discuss last night’s events.
“Joo look like joo chave not sleep in veeks!” the old woman declared in her broken English and set a plate of steaming food in front of Melanie.
“I feel like I haven’t.” she replied.
“Hokay, vhat is wrong vith joo and Bill?” Oma said and sat down at the table with her coffee. Melanie’s mouth dropped open in shock.
“How did you know about Bill and I?” she asked, “Did Georg tell you?”
“No, I just know everrrything.” she said with a chuckle and sat there waiting for Melanie to speak.
“We are just having some troubles I guess.” Melanie said to complete silence. She looked over to Oma who just sat there looking at her expectantly. Melanie looked back at her for a moment and then continued on, taking the hint that she needed to elaborate.
“Well, the thing is I really care for Bill and I know he ummm…loves me, but I can’t say it back.” she said and looked to the old woman. Oma smiled and nodded her head showing that she understood.
“I zink that joo need to give up.” Oma said matter-of-factly with a slight nod of her head.
“What?!” Melanie said, horrified.
“If joo will never say ‘I lof joo’ then joo do not deserve to say it!” Oma declared.
“It’s not my choice not to say it! I just can’t do it…” Melanie said and looked down at her hands. Oma lifted her chin and met Melanie’s cloudy eyes with her own bright blue ones.
“Joo alvays chave a choice.” she said simply and dropped Melanie’s chin.
“I don’t know if what I feel is true.” Melanie cried and buried her face in her hands.
“Vat is wrong vith you teenager and jour veird emotions?” Oma said and wrapped Melanie in a warm hug. She pulled her back to peer into her face and pulled Melanie’s hair from her eyes.
“Listen to me. Joo feel lof, joo say it. Joo do not feel it, joo do not say it. Is simple, no?” she smiled as her eyes lit up. Melanie nodded and gave her a watery smile.
“You’re right.” she said and sniffled, “I feel it, I say it. And I do, I do feel it.” she declared.
“Joo feel it!” Oma shouted and clapped her hands together. Melanie stood up suddenly and said, “I’m gonna go tell him, he needs to know.”
Oma sat there giggling and Melanie beamed at her before heading down the hallway to Bill’s and Tom’s room.
She flung open the door and stepped inside. On one bed a mass of rumpled black hair was visible from one pillow. She realized that it was still relatively early for the boys and started to back out of the room. She glanced over to the other bed and saw a boxer clad butt stuck straight up in the air. She choked on her laughter and clapped a hand over her mouth. She looked to the front of the bed and saw Tom’s head peeking out of the covers, mouth hanging open as he breathed. She quickly pulled out her camera and snapped a picture. Her phone made a loud clicking noise and she froze before realizing who she could have woken up. Those boys could sleep through a nuclear disaster! She ducked out of the room and ran to get a piece of paper. She scribbled a few words on the paper and taped it to the boys’ door.

Bill woke a few hours later and stumbled out of bed. He looked at Tom’s still sleeping form and chuckled to himself before he walked into the bathroom. He ran a brush through his hair to tame it, but decided otherwise and flipped his head upside down to tease it. He washed off the caked-on makeup from the night before and sighed at his reflection.
“Yesterday you had it all. Today you are a poor man.” he said to himself and turned away from the mirror. He got changed and woke up a cursing Tom. He went to the door and opened it. At the sound of crackling paper, he looked at the door. He reached up and pulled the old crumpled piece of paper off the door and looked at it.
It read:
“bIlL, it’s me,
you knOw that you mean the world to me.
I just need some time to take in eVerything,
pleasE don’t give up on me,
i need You,
cOme Upstairs and talk to me.
p.s.~ think hard”
He read it through once and was immediately happy to be given the chance to talk things over with her. He was confused by the last line, it seemed so cryptic. He also noticed that some of the letters were capitalized. He studied it more closely and started to spell out the words, “I-L-O-V-” and raced up the stairs before the words were completed. He burst into the room and looked to the bed where Melanie sat in her pajama top and boy shorts.
“Finally.”

here is a chapter dedicated to you

“Finally.” Melanie said with a small smile.
“Is this a joke?” Bill said, panting. “I mean you’re not just being a major ***** right now and toying with my emotions are you?” he asked desperately.
“Have you known me to ever do something like that?” Melanie said, shocked by his reaction.
“Oh thank God.” he said and bounded onto her bed and tackled her.
“Say it.” he said as he leaned over her, staring into her eyes.
“Say what?” Melanie said coyly.
“You know what. Say it.” he commanded as she giggled.
“I do declare, sir, I have no idea what you are talkin’ about.” she said in a fake southern accent.
“Say it.” he said simply and leaned in closer to her. Her heart started to beat faster with every inch he moved. Finally he was so close that the tips of their noses were touching. He eyes were glued to hers as she gulped.
“Bill…I-I. Give me a second.” she said and swallowed again.
“No. Say it.” he said and grabbed a hold of her fidgeting hands.
“Ok. Bill, I lo-”
“Hey guys what’s going on?” Georg said walking inside the room.
“OUT!” Bill roared and chucked a pillow in Georg’s direction, not once taking his eyes away from Melanie’s. Georg tried to move, to no avail. He was slammed in the face with a B-52 goose down bomber. He cursed and went to pull the door shut, muttering to himself.
“All I wanted to do was say ‘hi’. Freakin ’… stupid … pillow …jerk… gahhfrackingeezeughhh.” he glared and shut the door.
“Say it, now.” Bill said pushing Melanie further into the bed.
“Bill, I…” she looked around, waiting for any further interruptions and said, “Bill, I love you.”
He reached down and wrapped her face in his hands and kissed her fiercely. He pulled away to give her a searching glance and reluctantly asked, “Are you sure this is what you want?”
“It’s the only thing that I want.” she answered and smiled. He beamed at her so that her heart melted. She pulled him down for another kiss and sighed when they finally broke apart. She rested her head against his forehead and gazed into his eyes. They stayed that way for the next few minutes, taking in all they could about each other as if memorizing the moment.
“I love you.” she said as he beamed.
“I don’t think that will ever get old.” he said.
“I’m sorry I didn’t say it sooner. I just didn’t know if what I felt was true. It’s just…I didn’t want you to be some stupid high school romance.” she said honestly.
“Never.” he said with a soft smile. “I care too much for this to be some ridiculous fling. I love you too much.” he said.
“And I love you. So much.” she said and gave his lips a quick kiss.

Bill and Melanie walked hand in hand down the street back towards Georg’s house where their friends awaited their arrival.
“I wonder if they’ll like it.” Melanie thought out loud.
“I don’t care, as long as we both love it, then I’m good. They can get over it.” Bill said and looked down at their intertwined hands. He pulled them up and gazed at the delicate words printed on Melanie’s thin wrist.
BK~ My sweetest downfall
“It’s kind of perfect, isn’t it?” she said and crinkled her nose in delight.
“It is.” he replied and pressed his lips against the tender skin. She pulled his wrist up to her own face and gazed down at the fresh black ink.
MS~ I loved you first
“Yours is, too.” she commented and planted a kiss on him. He whispered ‘I love you’ against her lips and she smiled in return.
“I know.” she said and walked away as he stopped in his tracks.
“Didn’t we get past that?!” he asked in mock despair. She giggled over her shoulder and he ran to catch up.
****, I love her...

*Note: If you have ever listened to Regina Spektor, then you’ll get the tattoo idea. I was listening to Samson and decided the lyrics were perfect for the tattoos…

Kind of a filler chapter...
it leads to something pretty important
so pay attention!
Here's more...

The teens were ravenous after a long night of dancing at Wolfgang’s. It was their new place to go when they just wanted to have fun and release stress. They were covered in sweat and smelled foul, but they were all smiling. All that dancing worked up quite an appetite in everyone in the group and they were all trying to find a place to eat.
“Where to?” Bill asked Georg, his arm slung around Melanie’s shoulder as they walked down the street.
“Umm, we can go to this deli they have just around the corner. It’s called Edelweiss and it has the best sandwiches in Magdeburg. Does that sound good?” Georg asked, hand in hand with Mae.
“Anything sounds good right now. I just want some food!” Tom said, “I may just go after Lynn, I’m so hungry!” he said and buried his face in her neck, growling as he nuzzled her. She giggled and poked him in the ribs causing him to squeak and chuckle. They kissed quickly and turned back to their friends.
Gustav walked quietly in the back of the group, his hands shoved in his pockets. He silently watched the couples interact and found himself irritated by their simple expressions of love. He couldn’t understand the growing animosity toward his newfound friends. Well, maybe he did understand. It was because of…her. He shied away from the thought, not wanting to remember the pain. Not here, not now. He shook his head to clear his thoughts, but found himself pulled back in as he watched his love-struck peers hold hands, sneak kisses, and tease and flirt with each other.
Melanie was lost in a conversation when shefelt a nagging feeling that someone was not quite right. She peered back over Bill’s shoulder to count her friends and noticed a melancholic Gustav. He seemed to be deep in thought and stared at the concrete as he walked. She gently disengaged herself from Bill who was too busy chatting with Tom to notice. She slowed her pace, letting the rest of her friends filter around her and stopped by Gustav.
“How’s everything?” she asked after a moment of walking in silence.
“Fine.” he replied curtly.
“Ok…you seem a little off. Is there something wrong?” she asked gently and placed a hand on his strong shoulder.
“No, it’s fine. I just don’t…feel good. Yeah, I think I’m coming down with something.” he said, rushing through his words.
“I better go and get some rest.” he added quickly and walked to the edge of the street.
“What about dinner?” she asked.
“I’m not hungry, I’m just going to go home.” he called over his shoulder and waved goodbye.
“Ok…” she said and reluctantly went to rejoin the group after giving him a reassuring smile. She walked up to Bill and he automatically pulled her back to his body.
“Where’s Gustav going?” he asked her.
“He said he didn’t feel well.” she said indifferently, staring straight in front of her as her face crinkled with concentration.
“You don’t think he was telling the truth.” he asked, reading her sudden mood change.
“Nope.” she replied.
She glanced back to where Gustav stood, hand in the air, hailing a cab. The bright lights of passing cars illuminated his face, giving it a hard edge. He looked stern and angry, lost in thoughts of past times. He glanced back and Melanie followed his gaze to where Tom and Lynn stood. Tom had his hands wrapped around Lynn’s waist, leaning into her as she stood up on her tiptoes to plant a warm peck on his lips. Melanie brought her gaze back to Gustav who cast a final longing glance at the couple and climbed into the waiting cab.
“He looks…lonely.” Bill commented after following Melanie’s worried gaze.
“Yeah, it’s something more than that, though.” she said.
Bill shrugged and said, “Well, if anyone can figure it out, it’s you.” He knew his girlfriend was probably the most nosy person he knew, but he also knew she did all out of love.
“Oh, I will.” she agreed with a final nod.

What is Gustav's issue?
Who is this mysterious 'her'?
You'll find out soon...maybe

Hey guys here is some more for those of you who actually care! just kiddin, but still...

Gustav shrugged off his wet jacket and laid it on the back of a dining chair in his small apartment. The weather matched his mood, stormy. He pulled the curtains back from his window and sighed at the condensation outside. He grunted as he lifted the window and stuck his head outside, enjoying the feel of the warm air and cold rain on his face. He relaxed for a moment and hesitantly pulled himself back into the apartment before he got sick. He headed towards his bedroom while simultaneously peeling off his dripping shirt. As he proceeded to change out of the rest of his wet clothes he stopped short and threw and unwilling glance toward his nightstand. There sat a picture of her. She looked so beautiful. Long, flowing black hair, bright easy smile that reached all the way up to her emerald green eyes. Gustav was in the picture with her. He was in mid laughter, a wicked look in his eyes as he grabbed her around the waist. He could picture the day perfectly, though it had to be about three years ago…

FLASHBACK
Gustav pulled the blanket over his shoulder, readjusting it so that it didn’t brush the ground. He held hands with her as they walked down the bank of the lake with her a few of their friends. She took the blanket from his hands and lay it gently down on the grass finally deciding on a good spot.
“You’re so indecisive.” Gustav commented as he sat down on the blanket, taking off his shoes to place on the corners to prevent the light breeze from lifting the blanket.
“No, I just know what I like and I’m not happy until it is perfect.” she said with that lazy smile of hers that sent his heart into a flutter every time. He smiled and pulled her down next to him to look up at the stars in the sky.
“They’re so calming.” she said and she stared into the dark vastness.
“Yes, they are.” he said, not watching the sky, but her eyes. She glanced over and smiled at him, reading his mind, and kissed his lips gently.
“You are way too sweet for your own good.” she said and gave him yet another kiss. He stood up, unable to take in any sight, but her. He dragged her to her feet and they took a walk, letting their friends know that they would be back soon before they left. They strolled lazily around the lake and paused every now and then to look at the stars. They ended their walk and returned to their friends when they came upon a little duck splashing in the water in the glow of the moonlight.
“Aww, how cute.” she commented and kneeled down for a better look.
“That looks like fun.” Gustav said slyly and quickly scooped her up into his arms. She squealed and struggled as he pretended to toss her in the lake. One of their friends came up behind them as he began to set her down.
“HEY!” their friend, Tomas, yelled and they turned around quickly. He snapped a picture as she smiled, her eyes still dancing from the joke. He laughed out loud and spun her around to dance to the music that came from their friend’s boom box. He began to sing the lyrics to “The Way You Look Tonight” softly in her ear and she giggled at him.
“I’m sorry my voice is so bad.” he apologized when the song ended.
“Sing me something soft, sad and delicate or loud and out of key. Sing me anything.” she replied with a chuckle and flung her arms around him in a fierce hug.

It was one of his favorite memories of her, the time when things were good. Before everything went so terribly wrong, before she was ripped away from him. It felt like and icicle had been stabbed through his chest as the cold pain pounded through his veins. He tried not to think of all that had happened, but couldn’t fight the memories that flooded his mind. It hurt so bad even after all these years. He had been making so much progress and he thought he was finally happy again surrounded by his new American friends. Tomas tried to tell him to move on, that it was strange that he wasn’t out dating again and he thought he understood. But now, NOW he was being pulled back in again. He could feel the depression start to sink in and the weight crush his lungs. The pain was back, though it never truly left.
He buried his face in his hands as he sat on his bed, alone and weary. He felt his body begin to be racked with sobs as it had so many times after it happened. He knew he needed to talk to someone, but he didn’t know who. He could call Tomas, the one friend who suffered through it all with him, but he already knew that he would say to move on. It wouldn’t suffice, he needed to reveal what he was feeling, but he didn’t want to burden anyone with it. Maybe I could call Melanie, he thought to himself. She will know what to say. He reached to pull his phone from his nightstand and his hand stopped in front of the picture. He put his fingers to her face in the picture and shook his head. More than anything, he missed her. He missed her with every fiber of his being.
He dialed Melanie’s number with shaking hands.
“Mel, it’s Gustav.”

Sorry it took so long to write the next chapter I went to Prom this weekend and so I didn't have any time. Here is another chapter, it should solve some of your questions about the green-eyed girl...

“Mel, it’s Gustav.” he whispered trying to cover up his shaky voice.
“Oh, hi. I thought you were sick, you should be getting some sleep.” she commented.
“Listen, Mel, I’m not sick. I’m kind of having a hard time right now and I need someone to talk to. Do you think you could possibly come over?” he inquired.
“Ummm..ok. Give me your address and I’ll be over there in a few minutes.” she said.
He ended the call after rattling off his address and sat in the quiet to wait. By the time she finally arrived 45 minutes later, he was beside himself. He answered the door after the first knock and was a little upset to find not only Melanie, but Bill also.
“Hey guys, come on in.” he said hurriedly and ushered them into his living room, taking their wet jackets as he did.
“Sorry it took so long, you would think the streets would be empty at three in the morning, but apparently it doesn’t work that way in Germany!” Melanie pointed out.
“I was kind of worried, I thought you were coming by yourself and I didn’t want you to get hurt.” Gustav said.
“Well, I was going to, but Bill was also paranoid and decided to come with me. Is that ok?” she asked reluctantly. Bill looked to Gustav with a combination of protectiveness towards Melanie and worry for his friend.
“No, it’s fine. I need to get this out and I don’t particularly care to who.” he said anxiously.
“Ok, take it easy. What did you need to tell us?” she said, taking a seat next to Bill on the couch.
“I wanted to tell you about what was bothering me earlier, but it involves a part of my past that was really hard, so bear with me.” Gustav said and took a in a shaky breath. He went into his bedroom and returned with a picture frame in his hand. He placed the photo in Melanie’s hands and she gazed at it intently before passing it to Bill to look at.
“She’s beautiful.” Bill said quietly. Knowing that Bill was trying to help Gustav, Melanie let the comment fall without a battle.
“Yes, she was.” Gustav said as he watched his friends inspect the picture.
“Her name was Anaya. We met through my friend Tomas, and we instantly clicked. She was the most amazing person that I have ever known. Quiet, patient, intelligent, loving, funny, strong. It seemed as though she was always the one to help me through. She was…everything. I never truly realized how much I needed her until she was gone.” he sighed and wiped a trembling hand across his eyes, embarrassed by the tears.
“What happened?” Bill asked and Melanie placed a comforting hand on Gustav’s knee.
“She…ummm.” He took a shallow breath and quickly raised his hand to his mouth as if trying to stop the words from coming. His eyes filled with tears and his whole body started to shake. At the sight of the obviously distressed young man, Melanie felt her own eyes begin to fill at her friend’s pain. Whatever had happened between the two had brought about an unimaginable agony.
Gustav took yet another deep breath and turned watery gaze to his friends.
“She died about three years ago.”
At the phrase, a sharp intake of breath was heard from both Bill and Mel.
“How?!” Melanie blurted and was jabbed by an embarrassed Bill.
“She was… killed in a car crash.” it was silent for a moment before Gustav continued on, “She was on her way to dinner with me after work, it was our first anniversary.” he said with a bitter laugh as more tears spilled down his cheeks.
“She was only sixteen.” Bill said seriously and shook his head.
“ Yes, though our ages didn’t matter to either of us. We knew from the start that we were destined to be together. We just didn’t realize how short the time we had was.” he said and dropped his head. He continued on.
“I was sitting at the restaurant and…”

FLASHBACK
A young Gustav sat at a quiet table in the back of a quaint little restaurant. He was anxious and checked his watch frequently after glancing at the door. Tonight was the night. He was going to ask Anaya to marry him. Yes, yes they were only sixteen, but he couldn’t wait any longer plus they could have a long engagement. Just as long as he knew that they would be together, always.
The waiter walked up and refreshed his drink while he checked the time again. She was thirty minutes late and he was beginning to get worried. A man in a dark blue suit walked up to the table and told Gustav that he had a phone call. Looking confused, he got up from the table and made his way to the front of the restaurant where the phone waited.
“Hello?” Gustav asked questioningly.
“Gustav? Gustav is that you?! It’s Tomas. You need to get to the hospital right now! It’s Anaya, she was in an accident. Her cab collided with a semi-truck. Get here quick!” Gustav felt his pulse slow and moved slowly, as though in a dream. He grabbed his things and ran out to the street though it felt like slow motion. He was numb, unaware that anything like this could happen to Naya, his love. He sped into the hospital and was finally confronted with reality. He began to shake and quickly asked for her room. He ran there, slamming into doctors and patients alike, trying desperately to reach her. He reached the room and walked in, not acknowledging Naya’s parents nor Tomas.
“Gustav, wait…” Tomas called before the door shut behind him.
There she lay, tubes running in her nose and mouth as a nurse was busy checking her vital signs.
“How is she?” Gustav asked quietly and the nurse jumped.
“You’re not aloud to be in here.” the nurse said in a strict tone.
“HOW IS SHE?” Gustav yelled and the woman flinched in return.
“She has massive head trauma, several broken ribs, and major internal bleeding. I don’t think that she will make through the night.” she said honestly, aware of his delicate state.
“Oh, God.” Gustav said and walked to the bed and kneeled down.
“Naya, baby? It’s me. Honey?” he said cautiously and took her scratched hand in his.
“Gustav?” she said lightly. Her voice was weak and her lips were pale. He normally bright, sparkling eyes had turned dull.
“Yes.” Gustav said as tears started flowing down his face.
“I’m not doing well, am I?” she asked with a small smile.
“You’re just fine, hun. You are going to get through this just fine.” he said and squeezed her hand gently.
“Don’t lie to me.” she said sternly, but smiled weakly. “I don’t have much more time here.” she said and tears began to spill from her eyes.
“Don’t say that.” Gustav said, vigorously shaking his head from side to side.
“Listen. I love you and I will never leave your side. Please remember that, ok?” she said as her voice got weaker.
“I love you, too.” he said fiercely and squeezed her pale hand. She closed her eyes and it took him a few moments to realize that her heart monitor had stopped.
“Don’t leave me.” he whispered through his tears and pulled her limp body into his arms. He held her and wept as the realization came over him that he would never talk to her again, never see her smile, her eyes. It was over, his life had ended.

“I don’t remember what happened after that. I blacked out, I was so angry. Apparently her dad and Tomas had to pull me from the room. I was screaming and crying, I guess I also threatened the nurse. I made a fool of myself, but that’s kind of to be expected when you lose someone you love.” Gustav said, ending his story.
“Oh my God.” Bill said and hurriedly wiped tears from his eyes. Melanie was bawling, her hand covering her mouth. She walked to Gustav’s side and gave him a hug.
“I’m so sorry.” she said.
“I can’t even fathom how you feel, but I’m so so sorry.” Bill said and patted the mournful teen on the shoulder.
“It’s hard. It’s so hard. That’s why I’ve been having such a hard time lately. I keep seeing all of you interact and I want that again. It makes me miss her still. It reminds me that I won’t ever share that with her again.” he said honestly.
“I don’t know what to say to help. If you want we can try to tone it down from now on.” Melanie offered.
“No, no don’t do that. Cherish all that you have together, relish in it. Just do that for me please?” Gustav begged and the other nodded.
“Just give me some time alone to get through this. If you could would you let the others know what happened so they don’t think I’m mad at them?” he asked.
“Of course.” Bill answered compassionately.
“It just hurts too much to repeat all the time.” he said and sniffed audibly.
“That was gross.” Melanie said and chuckled lightly. Gustav smiled through his tears and Bill let out a hardy laugh.
“You guys are the best.” Gustav said, saying a prayer of thanks that he had them to lean on. Now all he had to do was try to let time ease what was left of his heart.

Here's the next chapter...
not as good as the last ones
hope you enjoy!

“So what do you guys want to do today?” Georg asked, clapping his hands together.
“I’m up for anything.” Lynn replied with a smile.
“What’s there to do?” Tom asked casually.
“Um, well we can go shopping, see some of the sights, or go to Wolfgang’s again…” he offered to several groans, a loud grunt, and even one “Aw, **** no!”.
“Okay, so that’s out.” Georg said with a wink and added, “Well we could go see Amsterdam, they have some pretty…unique places there.”
“That sounds good.” Bill commented. “I’ll take anything over than Wolfgang’s. That place is starting to get old! No offense.” he added quickly and blushed slightly.
“None taken. I told you guys this place is small.” Georg replied.
“So, Amsterdam it is.” Melanie said and stood up to gather her things. The teens grabbed the earliest train they could get and enjoyed a peaceful ride to the bustling city. They stepped out onto the platform and stood there taking in the sites.
“I have to warn you guys, I don’t usually come here very often. There are some shady people hanging around so keep a look out.” Georg warned and the group set out on their way.
“I miss Gustav.” Mae commented sadly. “I hope he is doing ok.” Georg pulled her into a hug and reassuringly said, “I’m sure he is doing well. He just needs a little time to work things out. He’ll be back soon.”
“You gotta give him credit, he’s done really well all things considered. If it were me, I don’t think I could come back from something like that.” Tom said and kissed the top of Lynn’s head.
“Yeah, he has been through a lot, more than I can even imagine.” Bill added and shook his head slightly.
“It’s such a shame.” Lynn said and sniffed lightly, willing herself not to cry again. Tom lifted her head and looked deeply into her eyes. He kissed her hard and said gently, but firmly, “Quit that. I hate it when you cry.” She nodded and bit her lip.
“Hey, this place looks kind of cool.” Bill said as they approached a sleazy looking coffee shop.
“I don’t know guys…” Georg trailed off, uneasy with the looks of the place. His friends dragged him inside and they all ordered various coffee drinks. The smell of stale smoke lingered in the air mixed with something unknown and unsettling.
“What is that smell?” Melanie inquired and Georg choked on his drink.
“Uh, guys I think I should talk to all the boys alone for a minute.” he said and got up from the table, the confused twins following close behind.
“Guys listen. I don’t want to freak out the girls, but this is a hash bar, too.” Georg explained.
“What?!” Bill said, visibly upset.
“Why didn’t you tell us this before we brought the girls in here! I don’t want to be near that **** nor do I want the girls near it!” Tom said and rubbed his temples.
“I tried to tell you guys that we shouldn’t come in here, but no one would listen! ********! We need to figure out a way to get the girls out of here without letting them know what this place is.” he said, exasperated. The boys huddled with their heads together, devising a plan to get the girls out safely and get themselves out without ending up in the doghouse.

“This place is kind of cozy.” Mae commented innocently, completely unaware of her surroundings.
Lynn surveyed the place and her gaze landed on a group of rowdy guys sitting in the corner of the room, smoking cigarettes.
“Those boys look kind of shady.” she said from the corner of her mouth right as one of them turned to look at the girls’ table and nudged his friend.
“Oh, ****. Here they come.” Melanie said and put on a fake smile.
“How’s it going?” a skinny, pale guy of about twenty-four said to the girls. He had and English accent and eyed them devilishly while grinning over yellow-stained teeth.
“Fine, thanks.” Lynn said dismissively and turned back to her friends.
“Can I interest you in a toke?” he said and set a hand on Mae’s shoulder. She looked at him questioningly and he stuck out his hand. In it laid a large marijuana cigarette. Mae’s eyes bugged out as she gagged and said, “Not interested thanks.”
Melanie laughed uncomfortably and Lynn sighed and shook her head. By the looks of things, this was not going to be good.
“Come on it won’t hurt none.” he said and shoved the drug further into Mae’s line of sight.
“No. Thank you.” she said curtly and looked away.
“She said ‘no’. Now if you would please let us be.” Lynn said tersely, through clenched teeth.
“I wasn’t talking to you, was I love? I was talking to your pretty friend here.” he said to Lynn and turned his attention back to Mae.
“Come on honey, what’s the harm done?” he pressed.
“The harm is going to be done to your face if you don’t get the **** out of here!” Lynn said sharply and glared at the man defiantly before beginning to stand up.
Melanie reached out to stop Lynn from standing up and doing something rash.
“I think you should leave now.” Melanie said politely and looked to their boyfriends, willing them to notice what was going on.
“I’m trying to have a conversation here, so why don’t you butt out?” the man said rudely and once again turned his sleazy grin back to Mae who sat there shaking.
“Now as I was saying. Just one little hit for me darling. It will ease your nerves and we can go talk alone.” he said and traced the line of her shoulder with a dirty finger as he licked his lips.
“No.” she said and glared at him. He got visibly angrier, but sighed and tried another attempt.
“Hey, I’m just trying to help you, honey. You look tense. Why don’t you come sit with me and my friends and we can all get to know each other.”
“Back off asshole.” Lynn said and stood up while simultaneously sliding her chair back.
“Listen you loud mouthed *****, get your nose out of my ****ing business.” he snapped at Lynn right before a swift right hook connected with his jaw making an audible cracking sound.
“Don’t talk to my friend that way you son of a *****!” Mae said as she stood over him shaking her aching hand. Melanie and Lynn stood there gaping wide-eyed at their generally calm and collected friend. The boys rushed over looking shocked and Georg swung Mae over his shoulder and carried her out of the store. Tom and Bill hurried over to their respective girlfriends and checked for bruises. Bill pulled Melanie into a fierce hug and giggled with her as they left the place. Tom placed a protective arm over Lynn’s shoulder and started to head for the door.
“You ****ing *****!” the incapacitated man yelled from the floor in Lynn’s direction. He held his hands to his nose as blood streamed through his fingers.
“You asshole!” Lynn yelled and lunged at him before Tom grabbed her and forced her back. He turned angrily and pulled the man to his feet before slamming him into the wall and holding him by his shirt.
“You say one more ****ing word to my girlfriend and you’ll have a lot more wounds to nurse you bastard.” Tom said through clenched teeth.
“**** you.” the guy said and spat at Tom’s shoes. Tom started to laugh as Lynn took in a sharp breath, afraid of what was to come. He looked to the guy’s friends who were staring from the back booth.
“You better watch your asses or you’ll end up like your friend here.” he said and turned around and smashed his fist into the man’s still bleeding nose. He then socked him in the stomach, forcing the air out of his lungs and let him fall to his knees.
“Next time treat a woman with respect.” Tom said and headed back over to where Lynn stood. He put his arms back over her shoulder, grunted and puffed out his chest as they left the establishment. As soon as they passed through the doors and around the corner to where their friends stood, Tom pulled away from Lynn and cursed in pain as he held his hand.
“****! That hurt way more than I thought it would!” He said and groaned in pain, his manly exterior shattered. Lynn lightly kissed his knuckles and gazed into his eyes.
“You are so hot right now.” she stated calmly and kissed him fiercely. He broke the kiss and said dazedly, “Wow, I think I’ve just made a medical discovery. I have found the perfect painkiller, a kiss from Lynn.”
She giggled and hugged him tightly and whispered ‘thank you’ into his ear.
“Holy ****, Mae.” Bill said, laughing as tears streamed down his face. “That has got to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“Now he knows not to mess with my friends.” she said simply and turned to Georg. “Why the **** did you take us into a pot bar?!” she said sharply.
“I tried to tell you, but no one would listen! I’m sorry!” he said and couldn’t help, but chuckle lightly. “That really was incredible Mae.”
“I’m glad you think so, but you better be there next time. I’m pretty sure that was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.” she teased and poked him in the ribs.
“I will, I promise.” he replied with a smirk and added, “Tell me, where did you learn to throw a punch like that?”

So I took your advice...
though it isn't very good...

“Does anyone else think it’s a little sad that America is basically known for its fast food?” Melanie inquired as she fed Bill a spoonful of a McDonald’s Blizzard.
“It is isn’t it?” Mae agreed and gingerly licked a drop of ice cream from her hand as she walked.
“I can’t believe that Germany actually has a water park! I mean you guys don’t exactly have the best weather here…” Bill said.
“Well we do have our good days and this is one of them.” Gustav replied, wrapped in a pink beach towel.
“You know, you guys should consider yourselves lucky.” Tom said to confused looks, “You all have the privilege of seeing me without a shirt on.” he added with a smirk.
“That explains the weather.” Georg said.
“What?” Tom said, scratching his head.
“With your white *** out in public there’s no need for the sun to come out, we can all rely on you to…brighten our day!” he said with a laugh and winced when Tom punched him in the arm.
They approached the growing crowd in front of the park and went inside. They followed irritated mothers, rowdy teenagers, tottering infants, and uncomfortable dads to the rides. Bill looked to the side as they passed advertisements for ‘Schrei’ the park’s biggest ride.
“Oooo let’s ride that one first!” he said excitedly and pointed to the posters.
“What does ‘schrei’ mean?” Lynn asked Gustav who smiled in return.
“It means scream. They are advertising the World’s Fastest and Most Dangerous Water Ride.” he said and rolled his eyes. They entered the back of the rapidly-growing lines and soon started applying sun block in the heat.
“You’re going to want this.” Lynn said as she slathered some SPF 30 on Tom’s back and shoulders.
“Come on, I’ll be fine. I don’t need no stinkin’ sunscreen.” Tom said and puffed out his chest and immediately dropped it when Lynn poked him in the ribs.
“Nice try. You’re putting it on.” she said sternly and rolled her eyes as he gave her his best puppy dog face.
The excitement seemed to heighten as everyone approached the front of the line. Bill began to get nervous and tried to weasel his way out of riding the ride. He looked up at the enormous curvy slide and gulped audibly. They all made their way up about fifteen flights of stairs and finally reached the top.
“Oh…****!” Bill gasped and took a step backward.
“You’re not going anywhere.” Tom said as he and Gustav grabbed Bill by the arms and dragged him to the ride.
“I’ll go with you and sit in the front if you want.” Melanie suggested and Bill nodded giving her a grateful glance. They headed toward the entrance to the ride and watched as Tom, Lynn and Gustav went first. Once they made it Georg and Mae went down. Then it was Melanie and Bill’s turn. She sat down in the entrance to the tube and turned a hesitant eye to Bill.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” she asked.
“Yeah let’s go.” he said hesitantly. He leaned down and wrapped his legs around her. One of the workers at the park gave them the ok and they started down. As they rounded the first corner Melanie broke away from Bill and traveled faster down the tube slide. He smacked his head against the side of the tube and winced in pain. He shot around another turn and…stopped. His legs stuck straight out and hindered him from going any further. One of his legs was caught around the other making it impossible for him to free himself.
“****.” he muttered and sighed heavily, “Just my god**** luck.”

Melanie stood at the bottom of the ride, a huge grin on her dripping face as she waited for Bill to come shooting out of the bottom and into the water below. The five friends stood there laughing at each other’s faces as they remembered how each person reacted.
“Did we miss Bill?” Georg asked as he checked the bottom of the ride.
“I don’t think so.” Gustav said gazing around the place.
“He should have been down here by now.” Melanie said looking worried. Soon several water park workers rushed past, moving toward the ride.
“This doesn’t look good.” Lynn said and ran after them.
“Oh, ****.” Tom groaned and followed with the rest of the friends.

By the time Bill was released, two hours had passed. He emerged stiff, slightly ****** off, but overall relieved. He kissed Melanie hard and limped to the nearest bench.
“If I never see water again it will be too soon.” he said to the chuckles of his friends.
“Can we please leave now.” Tom complained as he rubbed his shoulders.
“Dear God.” Lynn said as her eyes widened in shock. “Oh this is bad, this is very bad.”
“What?” Tom said as he looked at his girlfriend’s astonished face. He turned around and on his back was a pattern of vertical red and white stripes in the shape of where his dreads had laid for the last couple of hours.
“Holy ****!” Gustav said and clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle the laughter.
“Oh that is bad!” Melanie said with a giggle and ran off to buy aloe vera lotion.
Tom groaned as he looked into the small mirror that Lynn handed him.
“Can we please leave now.” Bill said glumly.
“You Kaulitz brothers have the worst luck.” Mae commented with a giggle.

Glad you guys like it so far...
This chapter is kind of short sorry!
It should lead to something quite comical...

No one would ever understand his situation, Gustav thought to himself, heading to Georg’s house to hang after another disastrous first date. Women just didn’t get that he could never love anyone like he did Anaya. She was his heart. They didn’t just break up, she died. If he could have it any other way he would. On this date, this girl got angry with him for wasting her time. Her time! He thought to himself as he shook his head. He entered the house through the backdoor, it was always open and he liked to give Oma a hug when he entered the house. He paused in the doorway of the empty kitchen and glanced down at his dirty shoes. He bent to pluck them off as he thought of his situation.
What’s the point? I mean, no one will understand that they don’t compare to Naya nor do they want to bother, so why should I? What is so wrong with living life alone?
“That’s no way to live.” Mae said quietly.
“Huh? Oh, I didn’t realize I said that out loud.” Gustav said sheepishly as a blush rose to his cheeks.
“It’s fine, but honestly that’s no way to live.” Mae said, setting her caring gaze on his.
“Yeah, I know. It’s just that I got back from another stupid date and it seems that no girl is ever going to be able to handle the fact that I will always love Anaya.” he said with a sigh. “I just don’t see the point in continuing to try.” He shrugged and leaned onto the kitchen counter.
“You try because you want to be happy. Just because some idiotic girls aren’t confident in themselves enough to handle the fact that Anaya was part of your life, doesn’t mean that you give up. You just keep an eye out for someone that you know can deal with what you’ve got to give.” she said matter-of-factly and Gustav smiled at her confidence.
“Thanks Mae.” he said and pulled her into a bear hug.
“I love you.” she said and kissed him on the cheek.
“You, too.” he said and patted her shoulder as they headed into the next room where their friends were lounging and watching the television.
“So how’d it go?” Tom inquired sliding his gaze from the t.v. to glance up at Gustav.
“Bad, as usual.” he said, giving Mae a knowing glance.
“Aw, that sucks. It’ll get better, I swear.” Lynn said and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
“I hope so, I don’t think I can deal with anymore angry girls!” he said with a chuckle.
“Why don’t you let us find you a girl?” Melanie said slyly and looked to her friends.
“Yeah, we’ll find you a total babe!” Tom said and was quickly smacked in the gut by Lynn.
“I meant us girls, you perv.” Melanie said with a roll of her eyes.
“Why can’t we help?” Bill whined.
“Yeah, why not?” Georg piped in.
“Because guys do not know how to pick women.” Melanie said simply.
“If that’s the case then you just insulted yourself.” Tom said with a smirk.
“You know what I meant! You guys take forever to find the right girl and only after you have had the worst relationships the world has ever known. All you look at is a woman’s body first and then you get into a mess when they turn out to be psycho!” Melanie said and folded her arms across her chest.
“That is not true! Some of us like to notice a girl’s eyes first!” Georg said and gave Mae a small smile.
“That would be a part of our body, wouldn’t it?” she countered as the other girls chuckled.
“That’s not fair! That means that we can’t be attracted to anything!” Bill said with a pout.
“Exactly, you go straight for the bod.” Lynn stated simply, her eyes dancing.
“No, you can’t-” Georg tried to interject, but was mixed in with various shouts and squabbles from both sides.
“I’ll bet you anything that we can find Gustav a way better girl than you ladies.” Tom yelled out over the chaos.
“Yeah right! You freakin wish that you could find a better girl than us! YOU’RE ON!” Lynn yelled back and set her jaw, determined to do beat the boys.
“GUYS, GUYS! Take it easy! No one is going to find me a girlfriend. I can do it on my own.” he stated plainly to the stares of his friends. The minute he finished talking they immediately returned to their argument ignoring everything he said. Gustav shook his head and chuckled. This was not going to be good…

Yeah Karissa, it was pretty much based off of my amazingly sweet dad…I couldn’t help it!
I’m really glad you guys like the story so far and the name Lynn…lol
Ok, here comes the battle!

“Ok, guys.” Tom said and clasped his hands to together, rubbing them for emphasis, “Let’s do this.”
Georg, Bill, and Tom simultaneously put on large dark sunglasses and headed inside the dimly lit club. Lynn rolled her eyes at the boys and followed them inside with Mae and Melanie. Once inside, they all promptly removed their sunglasses and squinted as there eyes adjusted to the lack of light.
“Smooth guys. Real smooth.” Mae said with a giggle.
Georg glared jokingly and laughed, but quickly sobered when Tom elbowed him in the arm.
“You forget they are the enemy.” Tom said with a smirk.
“Oh, look at the precious little ‘bad asses’. Aren’t they cute?!” Melanie exclaimed and pinched Bill’s cheek before he could pull away.
“Hey! No cutesy stuff! We are at war!” Bill exclaimed. The twins were extremely competitive and wouldn’t rest until they won the bet.
“Now let’s get down to business.” Tom said and turned away from the group while gesturing for the boys to follow him.
“Hey, get back here!” Lynn yelled after him and he reluctantly turned around.
“What?” he said and headed back to where the girls stood.
“You forgot to kiss me goodbye.” Lynn said sweetly and smirked at Tom as he sighed.
“Arghh. You’re ruining my bad *** look!” he whined and quickly pecked her.
“That’s exactly why I’m doing it.” she said with a giggle. He retreated back to the rest of the guys who made catcalls at him, making fun of his “whippedness”. Before he was too far out of reach, Lynn smacked his butt and the others burst into laughter.
“LOVE YA!” she called and laughed.
“Love you too.” he muttered as he grumbled with his head hung. He punched Bill in the arm when he finally reached the other guys for making fun of him.

“So what are we looking for here?” Georg said as he peered around the open club.
“Well she’s gotta be cute, shorter than Gustav, curvy, and…not a *****.” Tom said with a nod. The others laughed and surveyed the scene.
“This is gonna be hard.” Bill commented and let out a long breath.
They started out on the dance floor, winding their way in and out of gyrating girls until they spotted some “potential”. At one point they split up and danced their way up to several different girls trying to strike up conversation. Bill went up to a few girls who took one look at him, laughed, and turned their backs on him. Georg was too shy to approach anyone and the only girl he actually “talked” to insisted on rubbing every part of her body across him as he tried to explain Gustav’s situation. She eventually found his lack of movement exasperating and went on her way after saying, “You talk way too ****ing much.” Tom approached a variety of girls who all wanted dates with him, instead of Gustav. They all returned to a meeting point and discussed their situation.
“This isn’t good.” Tom said with a heavy sigh.
“We can’t let them beat us!” Georg whined.
“Well if you talked to women at all, you could help us!” Bill said and jabbed him in the arm.
“It’s not my fault I can’t talk to women! At least they don’t laugh at me when I try to hit on them!” he said stubbornly.
“If I chose not to wear makeup, they would be all over me, ok?!” Bill said and threw his hands up in the air.
“Look at us! They are tearing apart our defenses!” Tom exclaimed. They glanced over to the bar area and watched as their girlfriends chatted it up with other girls as though they had known them their whole life.
“I think it is a lost cause.” Tom added as he shook his head solemnly.
“No! It’s never over! We can’t let them win!” Bill announced.
“Let’s get back out there and do what we came her to do! WIN!” he yelled and they took off for the dance floor once again, spirits temporarily lifted.

And so the battle wages on…fe he he!

Hey guys! Sorry it took so long to post, but I'm posting from my BRAND NEW LAPTOP! Sorry, it's my graduation/birthday present and my dad gave it to me early! Continuing on...
Karissa~ Gustav isn't based off of my dad, he just has some of my dad's extremely sweet ideas! Great minds think alike!
Anyway-thanks for posting you guys are great!
Here's some more for ya...

“It sucks trying to get to know people when they speak German and you speak Germanglish!” Lynn stated in a huff when yet another girl walked away with a confused look on her face.
“I think we need to invest in a full-time translator because this is ridiculous!” Mae added, crossing her arms over her chest. Lynn nodded in agreement to her friend and sighed heavily.
“Those boys are going to beat us!” Melanie said, exasperated. She looked to where the boys were sitting and slammed her fist against her leg in frustration.
“Look they’re doing so well that they are taking a god**** break! Sonofa*****!” she pointed out angrily.
“How do they do that? All we get are girls thinking we are either lesbians or psycho. I don’t know what to do!” Mae exclaimed in disgust.
“We can’t let them beat us.” Melanie muttered as she glared in the boys’ general direction.
“I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be ****** at those boys for at least a month when this whole thing is over.” Lynn stated, looking to the dance floor for some kind of miracle.
“You guys gotta remember why we’re doing this.” Mae said looking to her friends, “We are doing this to help Gustav find love, not to beat the boys!” she said.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Melanie said a bit reluctantly.
“Hey guys, I think I’ve found a lead.” Lynn and pointed to a petit girl with long black hair and ivory skin.
They made their way to the girl and Lynn tapped her lightly on the shoulder.
“Excuse me, may we have a word with you?” Lynn asked politely.
“Ok.” the girl replied in an English accent.
“Oh, you’re not German?” Mae asked, immediately let down by the lack of communication skills that would be between the couple.
“By blood? Yes. By birthplace? No. I’m here visiting some of my family.” she said with a soft smile. The girls found themselves immediately taken by the dark-haired, dark-eyed girl.
“Oh, can you speak German then?” Lynn asked, excited that this might pan out.
“Actually, yes I can. Is there something you want me to translate for you?” the girl asked, confused as to the reasoning behind the question firing squad.
“Oh, no. We just wanted to talk to you about our friend…” Melanie said excitedly.
“Hi, I’m Mae.” Mae said extending her hand, “This is my friend Lynn and my friend Melanie.” she said pointing to each of the girls.
“I’m Sascha. It’s very nice to meet you.”
The eager friends began to share Gustav’s story with the young woman who looked amused throughout the entire conversation.
“Well, he sounds like a wonderful person…” Sascha trailed off with a small smile, “But I am already seeing someone.”
“Oh…well thanks anyways.” Lynn said halfheartedly. All the girls looked deflated as they began to make their way back to the boys.
“But…I’m not really attached to him so…maybe I could give Gustav a chance.” she added and laughed as the girls’ smiles returned in a nanosecond.
“YES!” Melanie said and pumped her fist in the air.
“Victory is ours.” Lynn said quietly and smiled maniacally.

“You guys! HEY! I FOUND HER!!!” Bill yelled over the blare of the music and headed over to where Tom and Georg stood addressing two girls.
“What? Wait-” Tom said as he was jerked away from the girls with Georg close behind. Bill had a hold on the collars’ of their shirts as he led them away.
“So what’s this about ‘her’?” Georg asked with a confused look on his face after Bill let them go.
“I found her, Gustav’s perfect girl!” Bill exclaimed.
“You. Found ‘her’?” Tom said in disbelief.
“Yes, I did. Do you have a problem with that?” Bill asked and stuck his foot out, popping his hip in defiance.
“No, no. It was…unexpected to say the least.” Georg explained.
“What does that mean?” Bill asked.
“It means you look like a chick, it was unexpected!” Tom said a chuckle and thumped his brother on the arm jokingly as Bill glared.
“ANYWAY…She is short and cute and nineteen and smart and perfect!” he said, his original excitement restored as he beamed.
“Really?!” Georg asked, Bill’s enthusiasm spreading.
“Sounds good.” Tom said, “What’s her name?”
“It’s Sascha.”

Hey guys-glad you like it!
Nice call tiklymepurple, we are obviously connected through ESP...just kidding
Anyway here's the next installment!

“Ha! We’ve found her!” Tom declared when the night ended with a smug look on his face.
“Yeah, well so did we!” Lynn said and smirked at him.
“Your girl doesn’t stand a chance against our girl so you should just admit defeat right now!” Bill said and nodded his head for emphasis.
“In your dreams, pal!” Mae said and rolled her eyes. “There’s no way that you guys will ever come close to finding the perfect girl for Gustav. We have this in the bag!”
“Sure, sure. Whatever you say. When the time comes for Gustav to decide and he picks our girl just remember that we gave you a chance to back out and save yourselves the embarrassment.” Georg pointed out to the eye-rolling of all three girls.
“Yeah, you talk a lot of game, but I doubt you little girls can back it up.” Melanie stated as the teens walked back to Georg’s house.
“You guys, this isn’t a competition. I just want a chance to find love.” Gustav said, trying to put an end to the trash talking.
“Yeah, that’s good and all, but we wanna win!” Tom said, waving off Gustav’s comment.
“So what’s this girl like?” Bill inquired of the girls, waiting to outdo them.
“You’ll just have to find out when he goes on his dates tomorrow night. I will tell you one thing about her…she’s perfect.” Melanie said, tongue in cheek and laughed at Bill’s irritation.
“Oh, come on! Just tell us something!” he whined.
“Not gonna happen.” Lynn said as the boys grumbled all the way back to Georg’s house.

The next day came with heightened nerves not only on Gustav’s part, but on the rest of the teens’ parts. None of them would accept losing to the others.
“Why isn’t she here yet?!” Bill complained as he looked at the time on his phone and sighed heavily.
“Take it easy, she’ll be here soon.” Tom said, trying to mollify his tense brother.
“You guys realize that all your efforts are pointless, right?” Melanie said to chuckles from the other girls and glares from the boys.
“How do I look?” Gustav asked, coming out of one of the bedrooms. He was wearing a black pinned striped button-up shirt and dark jeans. His hair was tousled just enough to be stylish and he had a dark chain necklace on.
“You look great!” Lynn said and hugged him tightly. Several of them whistled, some catcalled, and one person said, “If I was a chick, I’d do you,” though no one would admit to it.
“What time is she supposed to arrive here?” Gustav asked, clearly nervous.
“She said she would get here at six, so you have a few minutes.” Georg said after checking the time.
“So what’s her name anyway. I kind of need to know in order to introduce myself, I can‘t just refer to her as ‘her’ or ‘you, girl with the shirt’ .” Gustav pointed out mildly amused.
“Her name is Sascha.” Bill said and smiled. Melanie’s jaw dropped and Lynn choked on the soda she was drinking as Mae stuttered out, “What did you say her name was?”
“Sascha.” he repeated, looking confusedly at the girls’ stunned faces.
“That’s our girl’s name!” Lynn said, silently praying that they weren’t the same person.
Gustav’s laughed rang out over the shocked silence, his face turning red as his body shook.
“Oh…my…goodness. Ha! That’s some good stuff right there.” he managed to breathe out, to the glares of everyone in the room. “What? It’s really quite funny, you know.” he added sheepishly, but everyone could see in his face that he knew more than he was letting on.
“What’s that look for?” Gustav said to Melanie, sobering quickly. She was giving him an expression that read that she knew he was up to something.
“What’s going on here?” she said as the doorbell rang. He hid a sly smile and ran to get the door. Sascha walked in, a bright smile on her face and she hugged Gustav as if they were old friends then continued into the living room. By then all of the friends had confused looks on their faces and stared intently at the couple.
“Everyone, this is Sascha.” Gustav said politely.
“Yeah we know her.” Bill said and waved his hand as if to wipe the situation away.
“You were supposed to be our date!” Melanie whined at Sascha, who smiled apologetically in return.
“She ours!” Tom yelled and the teens entered into another battle for the win.
“None of you picked her!” Gustav yelled and promptly silenced the irritated friends.
“Did, too!” Lynn exclaimed and glared at Gustav.
“No, you didn’t. I picked her.” he said simply and crossed his arms. He shot Sascha an amused look and she smiled sweetly in return.
“You guys both approached Sascha long after I had already asked her on a date while you guys left me to be a spectator as you found your ‘dates’.” he said and smiled at the trick.
“You mean it was all worthless?!” Tom said, aghast.
“Yep.” Sascha said and nodded.
“We all picked the same girl…” Mae said and trailed off, in thought.
“You must be pretty special.” Georg pointed out, a small smile touching his lips as he looked to Gustav, who immediately turned red.
“Well, I should hope so.” Sascha replied in her soft accent.
“Well, we better be off.” Gustav announced and reached for his jacket. He waved to his friends and ushered Sascha out.
“Have fun you two!” Lynn called out to their retreating forms.
“Bring him back in one piece!” Tom added. Gustav had just walked around the corner, but brought his head back through the door and glared as he made the cut-it-out sign.
“Don’t be too late kiddies!” Melanie said just despite him.
“Shut up!” he mouthed and slammed the door in the rush to leave before they could say more.
“I hope he has fun!” Mae said and sighed as she walked over and sat on Georg’s lap.
“That boy needs to get laid.” Tom said and shot Lynn a look, letting her know he did it just to get on her nerves. He chuckled as he dodged a pillow that she threw at him with her jaw clenched.
“Take it easy! I’m kidding!” he said to appease her and kissed the top of her head.
“I have a good feeling about this…” Mae trailed off, deep in thought.
Though nobody else said anything, they all felt that Sascha could be the answer to their prayers.

I'M POSTING!!!!!!!
Sorry it took so long, I just graduated on Friday and I turned 18 today! Woot woot!
So here's a gift to myself and you...

“So where would you like to eat?” Gustav said comfortably in German.
“Anywhere is fine with me.” Sascha replied, with a sweet smile so that her cheeks dimpled ever so slightly.
“I know this really nice bistro down the street that we can go to.” she said and he responded by holding his arm out to her. She linked her arm in his and they continued on their way. They reached their destination and Gustav stopped in his tracks. She continued to walk on, unaware that he had stopped. She halted abruptly and spun around to face him, a confused look on her face.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“We can’t eat here.” he said as his eyes filled. This was the place he was to ask Anaya to marry him at. Where he found out about the accident.
“Why not? It’s a great place. If you’re not open to different kinds of food we can go somewhere else…” she trailed off when she saw the pain flash in his eyes.
“This-this is the place that I umm,” he said and dropped his head to mask the tears. “Found out about my old girlfriend’s…accident. I’m sorry, but I can’t go in there.” he said and started to walk away.
“Hey! Wait up!” she said and struggled to catch up to him.
“Ruined already. What the ****? I’m never going to escape this!” he muttered to himself, but stopped when he noticed that she was still there, walking next to him.
“Do you want to talk about it?” she asked, concern showing in her face.
“No, that’s ok. I’m sorry I ruined our date already.” he said honestly, “Do you want me to take you home?” he said, disheartened.
“Why would you say that?” she asked, a look of surprise on her face.
“Wha- I just practically cried on the first date and showed weakness. Why are you NOT bothered by that?” he asked, shock written all over his face.
“Just because you have emotions, doesn’t make you a psycho. Why is showing your feelings so terrible?” she said incredulously.
“I don’t know. Most girls seem to shy away from situations like this.” he replied.
“Well, I’m not most girls.” she said slyly.
“No…you’re not.” he said as he looked at her with a shy smile on his face.
“Now, enough of this. Let’s go get some food.” she said and they continued on their way.

Gustav knocked on Georg’s door, a look of utter amazement on his face. He hadn’t felt this happy, this content with his life since Anaya. He was finally getting his life back on track and he couldn’t contain his smile as he waited for one of his friends to answer the door. He waited for a few minutes and glanced down at his watch. It was only 21:30, wait 9:30 he corrected himself. He had to remember that his friends were used to a different way of telling time and made a mental note not to forget it. No one answered the door and he started to become confused. His friends were usually known to stay up until at least one o’clock every night. He knocked once more, this time a little louder and waited for them to open the door. He waited for a while longer and knocked again; this time ringing the doorbell simultaneously. He heard a scuffle and then the lock click. He readied himself for a barrage of questions from his excited friends and smiled to himself. The door swung open and his smile dropped. There stood Mae, eyes puffed and red, sniffling hard as she clenched a tissue in her hands. At the sight of Gustav she broke into tears again, her body racked with sobs.
“Mae! Mae! What’s wrong?” he begged as he quickly put his arms around her and closed the door behind him with his foot.
“Oh, God. Oh, God.” she repeated over and over again, unable to vocalize what had happened. Melanie, Lynn, Tom, and Bill all appeared from the living room, their faces streaked with tears. Gustav looked to each one of them in shock and repeated his question.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s-” Lynn started.
“Oma was killed!” Bill sobbed out as his body shook. Gustav felt his body tense and his legs give out. He slid to the floor and ran his hands through his hair as he started to tremble.
“Killed? How…why?” he asked quietly, tears steadily falling down his face.
Tom, the only one able to control his tears for the time being, began to explain what happened.
“She, ummm…” he said, bowing his head to look at his hands while he struggled to stop the flow of tears, “she was mugged while she was on her way home from the store with Georg. She refused to give the guy her money and he-he…shot her.”
At that phrase, Gustav began to shake, partly with sadness and pain and partly with rage.
“Did they catch him?” he asked, looking from one friend to the next.
“No.” Lynn croaked out and threw herself into Tom’s arms as she broke down. Melanie clutched at Bill fiercely and Gustav still had his arm around Mae’ s shaking shoulder. He noticed the absence of one important presence besides Oma and felt his throat tighten in fear.
“What happened to Georg?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“He’s not here.” Mae said, looking at her hands as though willing Georg’s fingers to be intertwined with hers.

Gustav felt as though he couldn’t breathe. Not another one, please God, don’t take another one from me, he begged.
“Oh God. Not Georg, too.” he whispered, his head in his hands as the tears blurred his vision. Mae’s head snapped up at his words and she shook her head vigorously.
“No, Georg is ok. He’s just not here right now.” she explained. “He’s at the hospital taking care of Oma’s…estate. He wanted to be alone.” she said, hurt by his lack of need for her.
“Oh, I thought that he was…gone.” Gustav said and managed a weak smile through his tears.
“No, physically he’s ok. Mentally…he’s really messed up.” Mae said quietly and said a silent prayer for her love as fresh tears spilled down her face.
“I think he will get better as time passes. He may not ever get over it, but the hurt will ease.” Gustav said reassuringly.
“I don’t think he can handle this.” Mae managed through her tears, her heart aching for Georg.
“He can. Remember he still has you.” Gustav whispered as he lifted her chin to look into her eyes. “He’s going to need you, more than you know. You must stay with him and deal with it all because in the end, you are all he has.”
“I will.” she said fiercely, eyes glistening with tears.

“Can I ask you something?” Georg said uncertainly. The two were on their way home from an afternoon alone, shopping and enjoying each other’s company.
“Anything, my dear.” Oma said with a smile.
“What do you think about Mae? I mean honestly, what would you think about her being part of the family?” he asked.
“Oh, Gee-gee. That would be wonderful, I love that girl as my own!” she said and placed a gentle hand on his cheek. “Nothing could ever make me happier.”
Georg smiled at his grandmother and pulled her into a fierce hug that he had no doubt inherited from the old woman.
“Thank you.” he said and placed a kiss on her cheek.
“No, thank you. You are living life despite your loss. You make me so happy.” she said and tears wet her bright blue eyes.
“I love you so, my gee-gee.” she said, using the nickname that Georg had possessed from birth.
“And I you, Oma.” he said and continued their walk back to their house. They walked in silence for a few blocks, but it was soon interrupted by a gasp from Oma.
“What’s wrong?” Georg asked.
“I forgot to get the ginger for dinner tonight!” she said, coming to a halt.
“Oh, can we go without it?” he asked though he knew the answer.
“My food needs it!” she declared.
“Of course it does. Ok, I will run back to the shop and pick some up. You just go home and make sure those boys help you unload the groceries.” he said sternly.
“You know that they will, I never have to ask. Now make sure you get the crushed ginger in the jar.” she called as she continued down the street.
He smiled after his grandmother and turned around. Georg made his way to the store and picked up the food. He chuckled to himself as he thought of Oma’s dedication to her cooking and the happiness of her guests. He paid quickly, in a hurry to return to his friends and especially to Mae. He went on his way, stopping to buy some flowers for the table when he heard the sirens. Loud and ear-splitting, the police cars roared down the street in the direction of Georg’s house. He couldn’t understand why, but an alarm in him was raised and he rushed to follow the retreating cars. He turned the corner and saw the mass of swarming cars and a crowd gathering behind a line of police tape. He pushed his way to the front and noticed several bags of food spilled across the concrete.
“Oh, God.” he uttered and rushed under the police tape heading straight for the accident. Several armed policemen tried to push him back, but he peered over their shoulders to where he saw Oma lying, a pool of blood surrounding her lifeless body.
“OMA” he screamed. He woke with a start and sat up in his bed, covered in sweat with the taste of metallic fear in his mouth. Tears drenched his face and he began to sob. A small knock came from the other side of his door and Mae entered, worry spoiling her delicate features.
“Oh, Georg.” she said and climbed into the bed next to him. His tears mixed with hers as they sat there. He looked into her gray-blue eyes with his own dark blue ones and pulled her into his arms. They didn’t utter one word, but held each other through the night as if there was no tomorrow to be had.

Thank YOU! I'm so glad that you guys posted more...my happiness is restored! Ok so yeah
here's some more for yous guys...

It was a week after the funeral and all Mae could think about was Georg and his state of mind. She had never lost anyone in her life and couldn’t begin to fathom losing several, all within the same year. She watched him silently from afar, willing him to heal. She could read the anger on his face, not only for the man that killed Oma, but for himself. She wished she could put into words how much she loved him and how he wasn’t at fault for his grandmother’s death. It seemed that no words could soothe him nor ease his pain.
She just didn’t know what to do. Gustav was a lot of help, he would take Georg aside when he seemed to be breaking down and talk to him. He knew what it was like to lose a loved one and tried to the best of his ability to keep Georg afloat. He wouldn’t let him destroy himself. Not they way he did after Anaya, not while he was around. Despite all of the friends’ efforts, it seemed Georg was intent on blaming himself and the more time that passed, the more deeper Georg sunk into himself.

“Hey Georg, can you come help me make dinner?” Mae called one night after the friends decided to stay in and watch movies.
“Ja.” he answered and began to shuffle his way towards the kitchen. He paused at the door for a moment and looked around as tears gathered in his eyes. The pain seared white-hot in his chest as he thought of Oma, cooking in her domain, this kitchen, for so many years.
“Would you be a doll and start the ground beef cooking?” Mae asked, concentrating on getting the water boiling for spaghetti.
“Sure.” he muttered and hastily unwrapped the raw meat and began to season it. She noticed his ferocity as he ripped open the package and paused for a moment.
“Are you ok?” she asked hesitantly, unwilling to bring up painful memories.
“No! I’m not, ok? I’m not ever going to be ok! So just stop asking!” he yelled and slammed down the food. Mae flinched from the attack and turned slowly around to continue cooking. She didn’t know how to respond to his anger, but decided that it was best to let it lay.
Georg continued to fiddle with the food as he muttered under his breath. He began to slam things around the kitchen, issuing more flinches from Mae, though she feigned being unaware. He threw the trash into the garbage can and started to bang pots and pans to work off his frustration.
“Georg, is there something that you wanna talk about?” Mae ventured to ask, though afraid of his reaction.
“No! How many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone?” he snapped at her.
“I just want to help, but I every time I try you push me away!” she exclaimed.
“Well, if you weren’t so **** needy we wouldn’t have an issue!” he said to Mae’s dismay.
“You know when two people are in a relationship they rely on each other. They NEED each other!” she snapped back as angry tears began to flow.
“Who said that I ever needed you?” he said, but immediately regretted his words when he saw the pain flash in her eyes.
“Well, I guess I was mistaken. I’m sorry that I took our relationship as something more than what it was. I’ll be sure not to make that mistake next time.” she replied curtly and walked out of the room. The front door slammed with definiteness that made Georg sick to his stomach as Lynn and Melanie soon followed her out of the door. A few moments later Gustav entered the kitchen quietly and leaned against the door looking pitifully at Georg.
“I tried, man. I really did.” he said as he shook his head forlornly. “So did she, but what good did that do? All I wanted was for you not to push us away. I guess I failed and for that I’m sorry.” he said, more to himself than Georg. He pushed himself from the doorsill and started to leave.
“You are so dumb,” Tom said quietly with a shake of his head. “That was a big mistake,” he added solemnly as he turned around.
“What have you done?!” Bill asked from behind Gustav and glared. He couldn’t believe that he could be so hurtful to one so undeserving as Mae.
“What?!” Georg said and threw his hands out to his sides in exasperation.
“How could you do this to her? She loves you!” he yelled as Georg flinched from the images of Mae’s face contorted in pain running through his mind.
Tom grabbed a defiant Bill by the shoulder and gently ushered him out of the room.
All three left the house in search of the girls.
Georg slammed his fists down angrily against the tile countertop and cursed at the surge of pain that shot through his hand. He stomped upstairs to his room, slammed the door, and headed into his bathroom. He doused his face in water and lifted his eyes to the mirror. He didn’t like what he saw. He saw anger, guilt, frustration, and loss etched in face as the water mixed with fresh tears.

Hey guys...sorry it took so long, I'm in the middle of packing and stuff so yeah
here's the next chapter...

“You know, despite all this drama, I am really enjoying being here.” Bill said a few days later as he, Melanie, Tom, and Lynn lounged in Georg’s living room. Georg hadn’t left his room since Mae left except to use the restroom or get something to eat and he refused to speak to any of them. Mae decided to stay in a hotel for a few days to think about what she was going to do about her current situation.
“Me, too. I really love this place. Like I think I could permanently live here.” Melanie said in all honesty. She sat cradled in Bill’s lap, her head snuggled into his shoulder.
“What would you say if I asked if you wanted to stay here for another semester?” Bill said, looking down at her.
“I would say you read my mind.” she said with a giggle.
“Then it’s decided.” he said with a nod of his head. He looked across the room to where Tom and Lynn sat, Tom sprawled across the couch while he head stayed nestled in Lynn’s lap.
“Do you guys want to stay, too?”
Tom looked up at Lynn from his position. “What do you think?” he asked her.
She looked away, swallowing audibly as she formed her answer. How could she tell him that she was homesick and wanted to go back to America without upsetting him?
“Umm…I have to be honest, I’m getting a little homesick.” she said with a sigh.
“Really? I love it here and there’s so much more to see! We have to stay just a little while longer. Please?” he said, his eyes dancing from the excitement. Her heart fell as she looked at his eager face.
“Ok…” she said uncertainly as he let out a loud whoop.
“Yes! We’re all staying!” Bill said and stood up to high-five Tom. Melanie looked at Lynn with worry. Lynn looked away quickly, tucking a piece of her red hair behind her ears in anxiety. Melanie finally caught her friend’s gaze when she was through fidgeting and mouthed the words, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Lynn mouthed back and looked away from her friend to hide the sorrow that she knew was written all over her face.
“How long do want to stay?” Bill asked Melanie.
“I think I’m going to go see Mae.” she announced, eager to escape the topic of their stay in Germany. She scooped up her purse and headed to the door.
“Do you want me to come?” Tom called, but was cut off by the sound of the door closing.
“I guess not.” he said nonchalantly and returned to his conversation.

Gustav entered the dimly lit hotel room where Mae sat reading in a chair by the light of a lamp in the corner.
“How are things going?” he asked her as she placed a bookmark in her book and set it down on the nightstand.
“Not very well.” she said with a sigh and raked her fingers through her dark hair.
“I figured it wasn’t. After all, you did just get in a huge fight with the love of your life.
How else would you feel?” he said with a slight chuckle, but quickly sobered when she glared at him.
“Too soon for jokes?” he asked sheepishly as she nodded her head with a sad grin.
“Anyway, I’m just not sure what to do. I feel like I haven’t tried hard enough, though I know it to be untrue.” she said and plopped down on her bed.
“You have done all you can do, Mae. Now it’s up to Georg to sort things out by himself.” he said and patted her knee.
“I know, but I feel as though he still needs me, even though he says he doesn’t.” she said as her hands started to tremble. Gustav noticed and took her hands into his own while looking deeply into her eyes.
“He does need you, he will always need you. That’s what happens to anyone who falls in love, but it was wrong of him to say such hurtful things. Now it is up to you to decide if you want to submit yourself to the pain and stay with him because you love him and believe that you’re helping him or leave him and lose him to let him find his own way.” he said and gave her hand a squeeze.
“I know, I just wish it could be easier.” She said as her eyes filled.
“Nothing in life is… You just need to choose with your heart and do what’s best for you both. I will support whatever decision you make and I’m sure the rest of us will, too.” Gustav said with a meager smile.
“I’m not so sure about that. You know Melanie…” she said with a roll of her watery eyes and a soft chuckle.
“That is a good point.” he said as he rose to leave. Mae stood up long enough to hug him goodbye and then settled back down on the bed. Gustav opened the door, but paused there for a moment to look over his shoulder at her.
“You know, I envy you. Not the decision you have to make, but the chance to make the decision.” he said as a melancholic smile touched his lips. “ ‘Bye Mae.” he said and left.

Hey guys! I see that pretty much no one has read this chapter and it has been cursed to roam the third page of the Poems, Songs, Fictions section and I'm kind of bummed. But I wanna post so yeah, here it is...

“I gotta go.” Mae said simply, lifting her shoulders in a sign of futility.
“You can’t just leave like this!” Melanie pleaded as she was knocked in the shoulder by a careless German businessman.
“I can’t do this anymore.” she yelled over the commotion of the people rushing throughout the airport. Lynn, Tom, Gustav, Bill, and Melanie stood in front of their bleary-eyed friend at the ticket counter as she waited in line to for her passage home.
“Please, Mae, he needs you!” Lynn tried to reason with her friend, “Plus you can’t just go by yourself, that’s dangerous!”
“I’m a big girl, I can handle it.” she said as she lifted her bag to her shoulder. She pinched the bridge of her nose, resting her forehead against her hand in frustration.
“Guys, you need to understand this. I love Georg with all my heart, but” her voice started to tremble with tears yet to come, “he doesn’t need me. I tried, I really did, but I can’t let him continue to hurt me.”
“Ok…” Lynn said after a few moments of silence. “Go.”
“What?! We can’t just let her leave like this!” Melanie said in disbelief looking to her friend for support.
“Yes, we can and we are.” she said as she looked to the rest of her friends. The boys stood their quietly, unsure of how to respond to the situation.
“Thank you.” Mae said and readjusted her bag’s strap on her shoulder.
“Not so fast…” she said as her friend readied herself to leave. “I’m going with you.” Lynn said and turned to look at Tom.
“Oh, no you’re not!” Tom said and grabbed her hand to pull her to him. She gently picked at his hand and forced his fingers out of hers.
“I’m leaving with Mae. She can’t go alone.” she put up a hand as Mae tried to interject and continued on, “You know I’m homesick and I don’t want to be here anymore. I’m sorry, but I can’t deal with all of this anymore.” she said, referring to Oma’s death and Georg and Mae’s break up.
“No. Lynn, we can’t leave. We’re having fun here, all of our friends are here!” he said taking her hands in his. He looked into her eyes, silently begging her not to end their time in Germany.
“We, aren’t leaving, Tom.” she said with added force. “I am. You are staying here.” she said as she hooked her fingers in his. “I’m not going to spoil this for you, ok? We both know that neither of us would have any fun if I were to stay here any longer.”
“No, that’s not true.” Tom said as he shook his head in denial. “I want you here. Please, just don’t leave me.” he begged quietly.
“I’m not leaving you, not ever. I’m just going home where I’ll wait for you.” she said with a melancholic smile.
“Then, I’m coming, too.” he said after a moment and he started to reach for his wallet.
“No you aren’t.” she said forcefully. “You will enjoy this time you have and I will not ruin it for you. You are not coming back with me.” she said and pushed him away slightly.
“Why don’t you want to be with me?” he asked quietly as though afraid of the answer.
“Because I just don’t. I’m done being around you, I need some time to myself, without you always there.” she said harshly, looking painfully in his eyes as she spoke. She would not be responsible for hindering any of his dreams in life. If she had to hurt him, so be it. If that’s what it took to make him happy then she would do anything in her power, even if it meant losing him for a short time.
“You don’t mean that.” he shook his head from side to side in disbelief, as if willing himself to wake up from this nightmare.
“Yes I do.” she said with finality.
“Fine.” he said, anger replacing some of the shock. He nodded his head once and spun around, leaving her and the rest of his friends in the airport.

“Wow. That was a lot harder than I hoped it would be.” Lynn said quietly, breaking the tension in the air. She ran a shaky hand through her flaming hair and sighed deeply.
She pulled her gaze from the ground and looked Bill fiercely in the eyes.
“Bill, please let him know that I only said those things to make him stay. Please make sure that he knows that I love him and I will wait for him…” she said as tears began to pour from her eyes.
“Of course I will, Lynn.” he said and pulled her into a tight hug. “I love you.”
“I love you, too, little brother.” she said and turned to Melanie taking her hands into her own.
“Watch out for him, please?” she asked as Melanie nodded solemnly. “Enjoy yourself and this boy here. And Georg, give him **** for me.” she said with a chuckle and pulled her friend into a hug.
“Love ya.” Melanie said and Lynn nodded in return with a sniffle. She walked to Gustav and he wordlessly pulled her into his arms.
“You are an amazing person and I am so grateful to have met you. Come see me sometime, you know if you’re ever in town.” she said with a small smile and bit her lip to stop the flow of tears. He nodded as he hurriedly wiped the tears from his eyes and smiled ruefully.
“I’m so sorry we didn’t have more time. I will see you again.” he said fiercely and hugged her once again before pulling her back to gaze in her eyes.
“Ich liebe dich.” she said with a smile.
“Ich liebe dich.” he repeated and wiped his eyes again as they filled.
She grabbed her bag, full to the top with a change of clothes and stood off to the side. She secretly knew that today was going to be her last in Germany, though she wasn’t completely sure of her decision until she arrived at the airport. She just had the feeling that she needed to be ready for whatever her instincts told her to do.
Mae took her time gathering her things, she couldn’t bring herself to say goodbye. In her heart of hearts she knew that she was really saying goodbye to Georg, forever. She took a deep breath and readied herself while she turned to her friends.
“Okay. I can do this.” she said with a watery smile. They all chuckled, but quickly sobered as she turned to Bill.
“You are a strange and wonderful boy and I love every bit of you. Make sure you get a hold of me when you and Mel get back…” she said as she hugged him. She turned to Melanie with a sad smile and jumped into her arms.
“I am so proud of you! You didn’t let questions get in the way of happiness.” she whispered in her friends ear.
“I didn’t and it’s all because of you girls.” Melanie replied and gave her friend an extra squeeze before telling her she loved her. She turned to her very own Dr. Phil, her closest confidante, Gustav and smiled sadly.
“You made your decision.” he said softly as he grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes.
“I think so.” she said with a small smile. “Though, I still don’t know if it’s the right one.”
“I believe you made a good decision. Remember all that you have been through and learn from it, Mae. But, don’t ever lose your ability to love so readily, especially your ability to love Georg. He will always be with you, carried somewhere in your heart.” he said as he hugged her tightly.
“Why do you always have to be so right?” she said with a smile. She playfully pinched his cheek, leaving her hand resting on his face.
“Now it’s my turn to give you some advice. It may not be as eloquent as yours, but I‘m going to say it anyway.” she said with a small smile. “Don’t listen to dumb girls! You are wonderful guy and any girl would kill to have you, all your baggage included. Don’t doubt yourself for one minute!”
“Aye, aye Captain.” he said jokingly, saluting her as he laughed. “I’m going to miss you comrade. Love you.” he smiled and helped her lift her bags.
“You, too.” she said as the tears spilled. She took one final look to her friends and walked to Lynn’s side, silently linking hands with her as they made their way to their gate. They stopped momentarily and turned around. Mae smiled, tears running down her face as she waved to her friends. Lynn stood beside her, face streaked as her eyes streamed and blew kisses to each one of them. They looked to each other and nodded before turning around and walking into the gate.
Their friends stood there silently watching their retreating figures until they turned the corner.

Hey guys...yeah only one person has posted, but I'm getting anxious...so here's more

Blaine- No, this chapter isn't like yours...this isn't the end of the airport scene missy. If you think this is the end then you are gravely mistaken...Muahahahah!

Ok-back to the post!

Georg could feel the sweat poor from his brow as anxiety settled in his stomach. The old saying was true, you truly don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. The thing was, he already knew what he had with Mae and even still decided to throw it all away. Grief and guilt could make you do stupid things, he thought with a shake of his head as he pounded down the street.
He had always been known as a levelheaded person, always taking the time to think a decision through. What he couldn’t understand was how defensive he had become, how angry and emotion-ridden he got whenever anyone mentioned his grandmother. It still hurt, he couldn’t deny it, and he didn’t think that the guilt would ever completely leave him. Even still, Mae had given all of herself to help him, every ounce of her strength and will to stave off the depression that was so readily available.
He rushed through the busy streets eagerly searching for any sign of an empty cab. Of course this day, the day Mae decided to leave, his car just had to break down. It turned out that all of his reckless driving had caused a crack in his wheel axis, it would take several weeks and several thousand dollars to fix.
“Karma,” he muttered to himself bitterly as he hurried to a waiting cab and slid into the seat right as a young couple opened the door to get in.
“Excuse me” he rang out as the cab pulled away from the curb. That one was going to come back to bite him in the butt, he was sure of it.
“Where to?” the dark haired cab driver asked, peering into the rearview mirror at his occupant.
“Airport and could you please make it quick?” he added as the driver shot off, negotiating the streets with the skills that only a lifelong driver could acquire.
“So…what’s the rush?” the driver inquired over his shoulder after a few moments of silence.
“Um…Let’s see I just ruined the best relationship I’ve ever had due to the loss of my grandmother from a mugging which I believe is my fault, but really shouldn’t and my girlfriend tried to help, but I told her that I never needed her and she left and now’s she’s leaving the country, back to her homeland of America where she will try to continue her life though I am now rushing to stop her and fix everything that I screwed up.” he finished with a deep breath.
“Wow. Well, I’m glad you are getting you’re act together.” he said politely and smiled to himself. Young love, he thought as he shook his head slightly from left to right, so dramatic.
“Yeah, me too.” Georg said as the airport loomed into sight. His stomach immediately dropped as the adrenaline started to rush. He began to bob his knee in anxiety as he waited for the cab to pull over. He opened the door before the cab came to a halt and stopped to tear some bills out of his pocket and throw them at the driver. He lunged before l out of the cab and began to run before halting suddenly, turning back around to the cab and peering in the window.
“Thank you.” he said politely, turning to head back to the doors of the massive airport as the cab driver just laughed yelling “Go!”
He burst through the doors in a fit of panic as he checked his watch. Bill had texted him an hour ago letting him know of Mae’s decision to leave:
MAE IS LEAVING
FLIGHT 29
LEAVES AT 2:30
DON’T BE A DUMBASS
He looked at his watch as he ran through the crowd, dodging luggage while peering at the signs overhead. It was two twenty-five. He only had five minutes to find her gate and stop her from leaving him. He ran up to a man dressed in a pilot’s uniform and tapped him on the shoulder assuming he could help.
“Excuse me, could you tell me where Flight 29 is at?” he asked politely, stifling his need to urge the man to answer. The man looked at him and rudely turned back to the newspaper he was reading. Georg grabbed his left shoulder tightly and jerked the paper from his hand.
“This is not a good time to be an asshole sir, so if you would kindly point me in the direction of Flight 29 I would be grateful.” he said through clenched teeth, a tight smile plastered on his face. The man looked up at him in shock as a ripple of fear passed over his face.
“Two gates down on the right.” he said shakily and visibly sighed as Georg released his shoulder and thanked him. He hurried away as a wave anxiety renewed itself in the pit of his stomach. The loudspeaker announced the boarding of the plane as he quickened his pace to a flat out run, slamming into people in his rush. He glanced at his watch as his breathing quickened with the exertion. It was two forty-five.
Time was out.
He had no idea how long the plane would linger at the airport, but knew he had to continue on and do all he could to get to Mae. He pushed through the security check as angry protests resounded around him.
“I have to stop the girl I love from leaving me!” he shouted in German, as an explanation. He ran toward the gate where he ran into a dejected-looking Tom as he made his way from the airport.
“Woah, Georg, where are you going?” Tom asked eagerly, even in his despondency he was hopeful that Georg and Mae could work things out.
“I gotta stop Mae.” he said as he pushed him aside as a smile lit Tom’s face and continued to run. Tom glanced at his watch and snapped his head up in worry.
“They may be gone.” He yelled to his quickly departing friend. Georg stopped in his tracks as his stomach dropped. He spun around to face Tom as he reluctantly started towards
“They can’t. Wait, who else is leaving?” he asked as realization hit him in the face.
“Lynn.” Tom said barely above a whisper as tears formed in his dark eyes. Georg looked at Tom, shocked. He knew it was terrible, but he found the fight in him restored. He just knew that he couldn’t let the same thing that happened to Tom happen to him. Determination renewed, he turned back and continued to run, mentally kicking himself for stopping to talk to Tom.
“It’s no use.” Tom yelled from behind him, but he continued fear driving him towards his destination.
He passed several gates, frantically searching for the one that would attempt to take Mae away from him. He shoved through a group of three people standing at Flight 29’s opening. Not realizing it was Bill, Melanie, and Gustav, he ignored them as they shouted to him.
Bill smiled to himself as he saw his distraught friend booking it to the gate. Melanie pulled him into a kiss as a sign of appreciation for sending Georg that text message. Bill held her in his arms as he watched he friend continue. All three of the friends felt their spirits lift as they watched Georg fight to get to Mae. They watched as he approached the door to the boarding dock where a flight attendant stood closing down the station. They talked for a moment as Georg jumped and paced, obviously anxious. He pounded his fist against the counter and yelled something indecipherable.
“It’s too late.” Gustav commented sadly and the friends’ faces fell. They saw Georg approach the window that looked out to the runway. Mae and Lynn’s plane proceeded to the end of the runway and Georg watched silently, placing his hands against the window. The large jet lifted off into the sunset and soon became smaller than a dot as it headed back to the U.S. All three friends found themselves unable to tear their eyes away from Georg as he set his head against the window. He slammed his hand against the glass once before sinking to his knees. He uttered a strangled cry and bent his body in half as the grief shook his body to the core.

so yeah here's some more

“Hey you guys I think I left my house keys in the …” Mae began as she reentered the airport through the terminal gates with a frustrated looking Lynn in tow. She looked to her friends, who stood looking dazed at her and then turned their gaze to the large windows and back. Mae followed their gazes towards the open window where Georg sat with his head in his hands, crying. She took in a breath sharply and felt her heart swell with joy before it sank again with the memories that flooded her mind.
Lynn looked from her friends, to Mae, to Georg with her mouth agape. She watched as Mae slowly walked up to Georg and placed her hand softly on his shoulder. Lynn stealthily walked to the rest of her friends, though they didn’t acknowledge her presence. They just stood there in shock, staring at the events occurring between the long separated lovers. Gustav flinched and seemingly shook himself out of his stupor before turning to look at her with his eyebrow cocked in question.
“Mae left her house keys in the car, we figured we would reschedule a flight and wait around for a few hours.” she whispered quickly, eager to watch Mae and Georg. She swung her gaze back to the couple and stood still as they interacted.
Mae set a delicate hand on Georg’s shaking shoulder as he tensed his shoulder momentarily and let it ease. He shook his head angrily and smacked his fist into his knee in frustration.
“She’s left” he said as he buried his face in his hands once more.
“I’m still here.” she said softly as a he looked up at her in shock through tear-filled eyes. A small smile played on her lips as he hurriedly took her into his arms.
“Oh, Mae. I’m so sorry for everything. You are everything to me, all I have. I know I shouldn’t have said those things to you. I just want you to know that I need you more than anything and I will always need you. I love you, Mae, with every fiber of my being.” he said hurriedly in explanation. He pulled her back to lock his gaze with hers as she just shook her head and smiled while placing a caring hand against his cheek.
“I know.” she said softly and matched his dark gaze with her own crystal one.
“You know?” he asked as his eyes searched her patient face.
“Of course. I just wanted to give you some time to figure things out. I had hoped the idea of me leaving with give you a jump start in fixing some things.” she said, embarrassed, as she swept her bangs behind her ears. Georg just sat staring at his girlfriend in shock. He couldn’t believe that she could be so…so….conniving.
“You’re not mad, are you?” she asked uncertainly.
“How could you?” he asked angrily. “ I mean of all the sneaky, conniving people that I’ve ever known, you have got to be the smartest and most beautiful of them all.” he said and smiled.
Her shoulders sagged in relief before she threw herself into his arms and sat there taking in everything. The feel of his strong chest and arms surrounding her small body, the scent of his soft skin as she rested her head in the crook of his neck, and the pure feel of love that poured from both of their bodies as they held each other.
The couple stayed there for a few minutes before composing themselves and walking to where their friends stood beaming at them.
“Much better.” Melanie stated with a nod to her friends and the rest laughed.
“Thank goodness you forgot your house key.” Gustav commented with a small smile.
Mae smiled as she pulled her purse in front of her and reached her hand in, extracting a small set of keys on a Cinderella key chain. She smiled sheepishly and her friends’ jaws dropped in shock.
“Oh, you sneaky bastard!” Bill said a smile on his lips as he gave Mae a playful punch in the arm.
“Wow, you guys really played it up!“ Melanie declared.
“Well, we had to be believable! By the way, good job, Lynn. Those tears were awesome!“ Mae said as she patted her friend on the shoulder. Everyone stood there laughing except one crucial person, Lynn. She stood there, stalk still in shock. Melanie noticed her silence and looked at her in confusion.
“Wait, you weren’t part of this?” Melanie said as it became her turn to look at her friend in shock.
“No! I had no idea!” Lynn said indignantly. Mae’s smile dropped as she realized what was happening.
“Wait, you mean to tell me that you really want to leave? I thought that you figured it out and were coming with me just to make everyone let me go!” Mae said astonished at her friend’s reaction.
“No! I was sincere about everything I said! How could you trick me like this?!” she asked angrily.
“I didn’t know…” Mae said as she trailed off in shame.
“Yeah, well, now I have to go exchange my ticket for a new one so that I can go home!” Lynn said and picked up her bags.
“You’re still leaving?” Georg asked incredulously.
“Yes! I meant what I said to you guys, to Tom. Well, not the hurtful things…but yes I am leaving!” she said in frustration. She hauled her bag over her shoulder and spun around, heading straight for the ticket booth.
All of the friend rushed to catch up with after the realization set in that she was actually leaving. She went up to the counter as her friends stood behind her in disbelief. She turned around slowly to her friends and smiled softly.
“Ha, a little poetic justice, my flight leaves right now. I don’t have to wait.” she said with a shrug of her shoulder as her eyes filled. She was angry and rightfully so, but not enough to leave her friends without saying goodbye. She gave them all parting hugs and stood there for a final moment, gazing at them.
“I’ll miss you.” she said and left.

I tricked you ha ha ha!
Stay tuned for the next part...fe he he

It isn't Lynn that you should be worried about...it's Tom, as you will see in this next chapter. Both of them are in for a world of hurt...

A few quiet days later, Tom finally emerged from his room. Bill had made several attempts to console him, but continually encountered silence from his weary brother. The idea of Tom sinking so far into himself that he wouldn’t eat, speak, or even listen to rap scared Bill. He wasn’t used to this depressed, introverted side of Tom. He entered the room they shared repeatedly throughout the day to either get one of his belongings or check on Tom. Every single time he was met with silence as Tom either ignored his presence or was so lost in himself that he didn’t even notice.
Over the hours spent wordlessly in his room, Tom’s time was spent thinking and crying. He felt stifled in his bed, wrapped up in his thick blankets, but he knew that the minute he left his quiet fort he would slammed with the pain of Lynn’s absence. He needed to think of what happened, but every time he his mind travel to those last painful moments with her, a sharp pang of coldness swept through him until his body quaked and shivered.
So he listened.
He turned his attention to the sounds outside of his room. The sounds of his friends’ laughter, their discussions of food, Germany, and himself. He heard their muffled conversations of his wellbeing, Lynn’s decision to leave, explanations of her behavior, explanations of his behavior. He even heard the familiar shuffle of Bill’s feet as he paused outside of the door, most likely ear pressed to the wood, listening for any sign of life. He forced himself to roll over or even sigh heavily to show Bill that he was indeed alive, though he was only a shell of himself. He didn’t mean to cause any anxiety in his friends, but he found himself uncaring of their feelings. He was fully aware of his selfishness and was disgusted by it, but found himself too lazy to do anything, but the minimum to ease their anxiety.
After his first day of solitude, he forced himself to overcome his pain and dove into explaining Lynn’s decision. She had said that she wanted him to be happy, but how could she think that her leaving him would make him happy? He just couldn’t understand it. Why did she feel the need to “get away from him”? Was he that stifling? He convinced himself that he was to blame, he should have realized that she needed space. No one likes to be hovered over and he should have seen it before it was too late. But it wasn’t like Lynn to just decide to leave. She would have come to him, discussed her feelings with him, and together they would have come up with a solution. She shouldn’t have just taken off, it didn’t make any sense. The more he told himself that she wouldn’t do something like that, the more the moment she told him, so harshly, that she was leaving ran through his mind. It was real, alright. He would just have to deal.
When he finally reached the conclusion that he would need to get over her, he found himself unable to get up still. He didn’t want to get over her. He didn’t want to get up, get dressed, eat, take a shower. He didn’t want to face the fact that she was gone. It wasn’t until a few days later that he decided to leave his domain.
He laid in his bed, gazing at nothing particular on the ceiling, hands tucked underneath his honey dreds. He could hear the sounds of his friends emerging sleepily from their rooms, heading to the kitchen where Georg was no doubt preparing a huge German breakfast. Bill was asleep in the bed across the room, unaware that his brother lay awake most of the night and day. He lay listening as usual as Georg made his way throughout the house, waking up anyone who hadn’t already made their way to the warm kitchen. Since Mae’s return, Georg’s mood had obviously taken a turn for the better and he was coping with his grandmother’s death well. Tom could hear it in his voice as he walked through the house singing.
“Woah-oh-OHHH. Woah-oh-ohhhh.” he sang to himself as he opened the door to the twins’ room.
“Bill, get up. Breakfast is served!” he rang out in his frilly apron. He disregarded Tom, who never answered when he offered food, and retreated from the room. After closing the door he continued his tune in his off-key, sotto, bass voice.
“Everybody was Kung Fu fighting…” he sang, adding in some “hi-yah’s” and “ha’s” as he made his way back to the kitchen. The sound was so terrible that it grated on Tom’s nerves like nails on a chalkboard.
“Oh, that is it!” he declared and flung off his covers. Bill woke with a start at the sound of Tom’s long unheard voice and sat up straight. He watched in shock as Tom flung his legs over the edge of his bed and marched into the bathroom. He slammed the door and the sound of the shower running was soon heard as steam seeped through the bottom of the door. Bill smiled to himself as he pulled on some clothes and prepared himself for the day. Tom soon emerged from the bathroom, body dripping, as a towel hung low off of his hips. He threw on clothes as Bill fixed his hair in the humid bathroom. He emerged as Tom adjust his cap and crossed the room to the door.
“Good to see you, bro.” Bill said as he walked up to his brother, who stood holding the door open.
Tom grunted in return and said, “After you.” with a sweep of his arm.
Bill left and Tom followed close behind, eager to taste the cause of the alluring aroma wafting from the kitchen. Bill walked inside the kitchen, a huge smile on his face as he gestured crazily with his head, moving it backwards as if pointing, while he silently mouthed Tom’s name to his friends. Everyone stopped what they were doing as Tom emerged, looking at his friends’ shocked faces.
“What? I couldn’t stand listening to Georg’s ****ty singing anymore!” he declared with a nod and simultaneously eased the tension between his friends. They all laughed in relief as Tom made of steaming plate of food and they continued eating. He sat down and began to wolf down the contents of his plate as his friends watched, all smiling. He noticed their stares and swallowed the food in his mouth.
“What?” he asked.
“We thought we lost you for a while there.” Mae said with a reassuring smile.
“Yeah me, too.” he said with a sigh. “Though, a huge part is still missing.” he added as he gazed down at his hands.
“Well, we’re glad you’re back.” Melanie said as everyone agreed.
“Yeah…” Tom replied quietly as his eyes filled. “I need to get some air.” he said as he stood and headed to the front door.
“I’ll come.” Bill said and grabbed his and Tom’s jacket before Tom could argue.

OH MAN! What's gonna happen? Has Tom decided to just "get over" Lynn? What does this mean for their relationship? How is Lynn feeling?...

“Everybody was Kung Fu fighting…” he sang, adding in some “hi-yah’s” and “ha’s” as he made his way back to the kitchen. The sound was so terrible that it grated on Tom’s nerves like nails on a chalkboard.

Here's the new post...
It's kind of short sorry
it's leading up to some major drama!

Lynn heaved a heavy sigh as the yellow cab pulled up to her house. You would expect someone who was so homesick to be grateful for their return home, but Lynn couldn’t summon any sort of joy at being home, without Tom. It was really quite funny, she left because she was homesick and now she wanted to return. She was Tomsick.
She trudged up her driveway and paused to take a deep breath before she pushed open the door. Her parents stood and smiled in surprise as they greeted their daughter.
“Honey, you’re home!” Lynn’s mother exclaimed in shock.
“Yeah, I was getting homesick.” she replied with a meager smile.
“Where’s everyone else?” Lynn’s dad asked after peering over her head to look for the rest of the crew.
“They are still in Germany…I decided to come back alone.” Lynn said as she gazed at her feet. Sensing an underlying issue, Lynn’s mom decided to approach her daughter about her problems after she got settled.
“Why don’t you go upstairs and take a nap. You know, get rid of a little of that jetlag.” Lynn’s mom suggested as she ushered her weary daughter upstairs.
“Ok…” Lynn mumbled through a yawn. She slept through the rest of the day and late into the next afternoon. She awoke with a start as she took a moment to find her bearings. A moan escaped her lips as she realized that she was back in the U.S.A.
Alone.
The feeling of emptiness surfaced in her stomach as she slumped forward and forced herself out of bed. She stood in the shower as boiling water poured over her skin and she blinked back tears as she thought of Tom. She hoped that Bill had clarified that she never meant to hurt him, though she didn’t know if he could summon the courage to forgive her. All she knew was that she wanted him to be happy, she just didn’t realize that it would hurt her so much to help him. It was a sacrifice that she would have to make…

“So how’ya feelin’?” Bill asked after a few moments of silence. The brothers strolled down a wet street as Tom walked off his feuding emotions.
“Not good.” Tom replied.
“You know she never meant to hurt you.” Bill said as Tom smiled bitterly and shook his head in disbelief.
“She said what she said, Bill. Either I’m extremely sensitive or she meant to hurt me.” Tom replied sadly.
“No, she said those things so that you would let her go. She wanted you to be happy. She didn’t want to hinder your adventure in Germany.” Bill clarified quietly.
“She should know that any place on Earth is empty without her!” Tom said defiantly.
“Maybe she didn’t…”Bill trailed off as he tried to soothe his anguished twin.
“Yeah, right. You mean to tell me that she told me that she wanted some space so that I would ENJOY myself in Germany? That doesn’t make any sense!” he said as they continued down the street.
“YES! She sacrificed her time with you so that you would be happy and enjoy this experience without her whining and moping around!” Bill exclaimed as he threw his hands in the air in exasperation.
“Huh.” Tom said as he thought it over. “Well, I just don’t know if it’s worth it anymore.”
Bill stopped in his tracks as he stared at his brother. “WHAT?!”
“I mean, I love her, more than anything. But I just don’t get what the point is anymore. All we do is fight over misunderstandings, it’s like we care too much.” Tom said as he continued on.
“Woah, woah. You love her more than anything and yet you still want to leave her?! Now you’re not making any sense! Love is misunderstandings and confusion and pain and everything else in between. It wouldn’t be love if it didn’t drive you crazy! ” Bill protested, utterly confused.
“I’m saying that maybe I should sacrifice the relationship so that we can both move on and be happy, without each other to be hung up on. Maybe I should date other girls and try to get the most out of Germany. Like she wanted.” he said quietly.
“That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, but I will support you in whatever you decide to do.” Bill said softly. “Let’s head back.”

This one is short and kind of off topic, but I thought it would be good to see how Gustav is doing...(you're welcome Blaine)
so here it is

Gustav whistled as he drove up to Sascha’s small apartment in downtown Magdeburg. He gingerly stepped out of the car to avoid drenching his new shoes in rainwater before he got to her place. He moved up the steps, humming a tune, a knocked on her door. He waited a fraction of a second before opening the door and announcing his presence. He thought that is was so nice to be able to come in her house without having to knock (though he did anyway because of the courtesy that was drilled in him by his mother and sister). It was a sign that she was comfortable enough with him to let him inside her house and hopefully her heart. She peeked her head out from around the corner and beamed at him.
“Welcome to the Thunder Dome.” she said with a smile and plopped next to him on the couch. He smiled, though he didn’t quite understand, and pecked her soft lips. He loved her spontaneity, her offbeat responses to everything. He had never encountered someone like her before and he was riveted.
“Well, what do you want to do today?” he asked as he pulled her into the crook of his arm.
“How about we go spelunking?” she suggested as Gustav looked at her in confusion. “It’s where you go cave-searching. I read it on the Internet.” she said sheepishly in her soft accent.
“Well, that explains it!” he said as he kissed her cheek and gazed into her eyes. “Anything that involves you, I’m ready to do.” he said softly and kissed her perfectly crafted lips.
“Even underwater basket-weaving?” she asked playfully and set a flutter of kisses across his lips and jaw line.
“Even underwater basket-weaving. Heck, I’d even go for underwater basket-weaving with mutated blowfish and man-eating tuna!” he said with a laugh as he kissed her yet again.
Gustav and Sascha sat there for the next several hours; holding hands, talking, kissing, cuddling. More often then not, they stayed in, enjoying each other’s company and dreaming of what adventures they could do together. Gustav cherished everyone of the conversations, writing down some of the more comic words they shared so he could look back on them.
He didn’t know what it was, but somehow Sascha had managed to enter his lonely life and provide not only the light, but a constant glow that filled his days with something other than despair. It seemed she was the answer to all his prayers. If it was true, then his friends had great taste, he thought as he remembered their eager search for a girl for him. EXCELLENT taste!

Haven't had much time to write, but here is another short post to help you on the road to disastrous discovery...

“I left because I wanted him to be happy!” Lynn cried to her mother as they sat in their cozy kitchen drinking chocolate milk.
“Honey, I just don’t understand. You say you want him to be happy and experience life and then you hurt him. It just doesn’t make sense to me , but then again, I’m old.” her mother explained as she patted Lynn tenderly on the hand.
“But, Mom, I knew he wouldn’t have fun if I was moping around all homesick! I want him to have a good time, so I told him those things to get him to leave.” she clarified.
“What you need to understand, Lynn, is that when you love someone, every place is better when they are around. It’s like God put a little heaven on Earth whenever they walk into a room.” she said with a small smile.
“I know, Mom. I just want what is best for him.” Lynn replied with a long sigh.
“What’s best for him is you.” her mother responded quietly and pulled her daughter into a hug.
“Thanks, Mom.” Lynn said with an appreciative smile. Lynn sat staring into her drink for a moment as her mother silently watched her.
“I’ll go book you a flight.” her mom said simply and pushed back her chair as she stood.
“You read my mind.” Lynn said and beamed as she launched herself into her mother’s arms and ran furiously up the stairs to her room to pack.

Tom downshifted as he drove through Germany’s busiest streets in an effort to rid himself of his depression. Georg lent him his car for the afternoon and it seemed like a blessing in disguise when Georg asked him to drive all the way to the outskirts of town to pick up some weird German sausage or something. He glanced down at the directions that laid in his lap while he navigated the streets, searching for a way out. He fiddled with the radio, searching for something to take his mind off of his current situation. He stopped on a hip hop channel and nodded his head to the beat instead of singing because of the language barrier. He forced himself to get lost in the music, but Lynn wouldn’t stop invading his thoughts. He just had to force her out, that’s all. If she wants me to be happy, then I will, I’ll go find myself a girl that wants to be happy WITH me!

BY THE WAY!

Here's another shortie...cuz no one cares...

Lynn smiled to herself as the cab slowly pulled up to the curb in front of Georg’s house. She paid the driver and leapt out of the car, her bag in tow. She walked hurriedly up to the door, taking in slow, steady breaths to calm her raging nerves. She knocked lightly on the front door as her heart pounded with anxiety. She wanted to see her friends, not her friends’ reactions to her return. She was dreading the questions they would have because she wanted to see Tom first, for some reason she felt as though time was running out. She waited a few moments for the door to open to no avail. She huffed and blew her fiery bangs off of her forehead in frustration before turning around to the curb. Hailing another cab, she climbed inside and rattled off the address for Wolfgang’s in an attempt to find her friends. She gazed out of the window trying to rehearse what she would say to Tom when she finally saw him. Should she immediately start apologizing, or should she tell him why she was there? Her forehead crinkled as her thoughts deepened. What if he doesn’t want to hear me out? She quickly pushed the thoughts from her mind as she ran her fingers through her long hair. The cab pulled up to the bar and Lynn smiled as she saw some familiar faces, some girls that the friends had tried to set Gustav up with. She smiled as she thought of how well they all did with Sascha. She was a great girl and perfect for Gustav. She was happy to see him in love again, Sascha’s love for life seemed to infect him. He looked so happy when he was with her…well at least when she was still in Germany the first time.
The taxi came to a stop and Lynn reached forward to hand the driver the money before turning to the door. Her hand was almost on the door handle before she looked up and saw a shadowy, but familiar shape standing to the left of the door. Oh God, she thought as her heart’s beating sped to an even higher rate.
It’s Tom…with a girl plastered all over him.

OK finally a long, thorough, amazing chapter. You're welcome! XD

Oh yeah, only one more post to go...

“Tommy! We just have to dance! C’mon!” Jenny whined for the eighth time that night. Tom rolled his eyes at the ridiculous nickname and winced when she tugged on his arm. He looked to where his friends sat watching the two interact and he gave them his best I-effing-hate-this smile. The girls gave him reassuring smiles and the guys laughed as he reluctantly let Jenny lead him to the dance floor. When they reached the packed space, he stood there nodding his head in boredom as she proceeded to rub her hips against his leg like a Chihuahua in heat. Then she tried to get him to put his arms around her, but he refused to partake. He just stood there watching the crowd as his mind wandered to the nights when him and Lynn would go to Wolfgang’s. They always had such a great time swing dancing, faux hip-hop dancing, and holding each other tightly, but modestly when the occasional slow song came on. There was no need to bump and grind to show their interest in each other, they already knew they were attracted to each other sexually, though they chose to keep away from those situations until they were married. They would wrap themselves in each other’s arms. They wouldn’t stick each other’s tongues down their throats, but just hold each other; Lynn’s head resting on his chest, her arms wrapped around his neck as he held her close to his body. He remembered always kissing the top of her head as they swayed to the music, eyes closed, enjoying the moment. Tom snapped out of his reverie as the song ended and he turned to leave the dance floor while Jenny clung to his arm and chattered on about some new Brittney Spears song that was in her words, “just fabulous!”
They returned to the table as the group started picking up their things to leave and Tom heaved a sigh of relief. He had no idea that when he met Jenny a few days ago, it would be this much trouble to date again. Sure, she was a total babe. Long blonde hair, big blue eyes, and a petit, but curvy figure barely covered in some revealing clothing; yeah she was hot. But he didn’t want hot, he wanted Lynn. He wanted to hold that silky red hair in his hands, kiss her porcelain skin, look into her dark eyes. He wanted Lynn, and Lynn only. In fact, he couldn’t wait for this night and this…situation to be over. They made their way out of the club and his friends started heading to Georg’s house, giving Tom and Jenny some privacy as they said goodbye. It started to rain as the skies rumbled in an almost foreboding way.
“Eeek! I hate the rain!” Jenny said as she pulled an umbrella from her bag.
“I love it.” Tom said simply. He and Lynn had conversations about the rain and how it seemed to be a sign of rebirth to them. It was like the rain washed everything bad away so that the world could begin anew the next day or at least that was how they both chose to see it.
“I had a great time with you tonight, Tommy.” Jenny said as she fiddled with her purse and peered up at him through heavily lined lashes.
“Yeah.” he said plainly, “Jenny, look I-” he began, but was interrupted as she shoved her mouth onto his, forcing her tongue into his mouth. He was shocked at first and then irritated. He tried to push her off of him, but she wouldn’t budge so he kept his mouth closed as she did her thing. His lips were still firmly fastened to Jenny’s as he looked around, waiting for her to finish her tongue hockey. He let his eyes settle on a bright yellow cab about to deposit someone at Wolfgang’s. He saw a flash of red hair in the cab as his stomach dropped.
Lynn.
With force that he generally didn’t use towards women, he pushed Jenny away as she gasped in shock. He ran up the cab as he met Lynn’s clear, watery eyes with his own. She smiled despite the tears pouring down her face and nodded to him as he banged his hand against the window in an effort to get her to roll it down.
“Lynn!” he called through the glass as she gingerly placed her hand against the glass, forming the words “I love you” in one gesture in sign language. She took her hand down and turned to the driver who put the car in gear. She turned back as he pounded on the window, still calling to her. She gave him another meager smile and mouthed the word, “always” .
The cab began to slowly pull away as she gave him one last nod of acceptance and turned away.
“LYNN! NO!” Tom yelled as he chased the cab down the street, his clothes wet and sticking to his skin.

Lynn turned away as the tears poured. She didn’t want him to see her like this. He was obviously happy, which is what she wanted for him more than anything. Apparently his happiness didn’t include herself, which was ok. She clung to the thought that is wasn’t the right time for them and pushed all thoughts of self doubt out of her head. Tom stood there banging on the window still and she turned to the driver.
“Leave, now.” she said urgently, unwilling to let Tom see her as she completely broke down. The cab began to pull away, muffling some of the sound of his pleading. She tried not to look back, but couldn’t control herself as she turned around for one last parting glance at him.
He was running, wet to the bone, behind the cab, still yelling as the car’s speed increased. He couldn’t keep up and had to stop. She placed her hand against the rain-splattered window as they watched each other’s departing figures.
Her silent and accepting, hand still placed against the cold glass.
Him standing, staring as he called for her in a last effort to stop her.
She smiled once again through her tears as he broke into a set of his own. She at last looked away, not wanting to see him cry, though the image was imprinted in her mind forever.
He watched in the rain, tears spilling down his cheeks, as she left him for the last time.

This is the end my friends...
The Tom, Lynn, Bill, Melanie, Georg, Mae, Gustav, Sascha saga has come to an end. It is a sad day, but a good one.
That's it for this story, but keep a look out for the new one that I will be writing...
THE FINAL CHAPTER

Four years later…
Lynn scribbled furiously across the black board as she wrote the day’s lesson for her preschool students. She smiled as they tottered into class, clinging to their parent’s jackets while sucking their small thumbs. She felt the twinge of pain that she always felt at seeing young children, she wanted one of her own. It had been her dream to be married and have a baby by the time she got done with school. Well her entire dream included Tom, but that was…history. She hadn’t seen Tom since that night in Germany, though it still pained her to think about it.
When she returned home after that night, she began to pick up the pieces of her life. She moved out of her parents’ house and went off to UC Santa Barbara. Tom never came. Part of her was glad for it, it would hurt too much to see him after all that they had been through, but another part longed for interaction with him. She craved his touch, and smell, and longed to stare into his eyes, but it didn’t happen. And she didn’t want him to. He was happy with that blonde girl, and that was the way she wanted it to stay. She finished school and stayed in Santa Barbara where she built herself a life full of friends and occasionally a romance, though none compared to him.
She finished writing and took a seat behind her desk. Today was going to be one of those days, she could already tell. She was in one of those look-back-on-your-past moods and she didn’t know why. She gazed at the calendar and schedule on her desk at started as she realized the date…It would have been her and Tom’s six year anniversary today. She shook her head at the thought, shrugging it away from her mind. She couldn’t deny the sharp pain that shot through her system. God, she was being ridiculous. It’s been four years…it was over. Why was she still, after all these years, hung up on him?
She sighed as she arranged the pencils on her desk.
She let her mind wander back to those days in Germany. She missed all of her friends, though she kept in touch with all of them, she found that it hurt too much to see them in person. Georg and Mae were married, a few months after Lynn left, and she went to the wedding, though Tom was absent. They now lived back in Lynn and Tom’s hometown to be closer to their friends and Mae’s family. Gustav and Sascha were currently in Naples, touring the world with each other. They were engaged and were set to be married within the next few months, and Lynn was currently saving money to go to the wedding. Wherever it may be…
Bill and Melanie, well they were another story. There was relationship was so on-again-off-again that Lynn was never quite sure when they were together. She never doubted their love for each other, though she secretly thought that they thrived on their never-ending fights.
Tom…well Tom, she didn’t know. She didn’t have the courage to ask Bill whenever they talked how he was doing. She hadn’t heard from him and she hoped that her heart had finally healed with time, but today evidently showed that she had not.
She went about her day, hugging her kids and teaching them all she could in the short time that she was able to have them. At two o’clock she headed home to an empty apartment. She was craving some Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream to drown out thoughts of the past so she decided to drive to her local ice cream shop. She stopped in front of the Baskin Robbins and paused to pull her purse out behind her as she locked her car door from the inside. I’m getting ice cream by myself…this is pathetic. She thought to herself as she pulled open the door and stepped inside. She went straight to the refrigerated section where she knew they would have a tub of her favorite frozen treat. She brought the small pint to the register to be checked out when she felt a presence come up behind her in line. She glanced back to see a man about six foot standing there with a little girl in his arms. Lynn’s maternal/teacher instincts kicked in and she turned around to the little girl and smiled. She had sweet crystal blue eyes and plump rosy cheeks. She had a mop of curly honey blonde hair that fell to her shoulders and she looked to be about four years old. She had a cute button nose and a small, sweet mouth, which was currently concentrated on sucking her small thumb.
“Well, hello, sweetheart. What’s your name?” she asked as she tickled her small stomach.
“My name’s Anaya.” the girl said with a giggle as her dad looked at her and smiled. Lynn’s thoughts jerked as she recalled the name of Gustav’s first love.
“That’s very…exotic. Where did you get it from?” she asked as she continued to play with the little girl, not looking at the man as he answered.
“I named her after Gustav’s first love, Lynn. You should know that.” Tom said as Lynn froze. He set the little girl on the ground and patted her bottom.
“Go look and see what kind you want.” he said with a caring smile as she beamed at him and went to the counter.
“Tom…” Lynn uttered in shock as she let her gaze travel his form. The dreds were gone, in their place was a shaggy, but clean showering of honey blonde hair that framed his face in a good way. His baggy clothes were almost gone too, replaced by a tight-knit navy blue chord sweater and a pair of still baggy jeans. The L.A. cap was still there and Lynn smiled in approval.
“I didn’t even recognize you.” she said as her gaze returned to his face. Their gazes locked and Lynn felt that familiar twinge in her chest again.
“I could never forget what you look like.” Tom said quietly with a soft smile.
“Oh, I don’t mean I forgot because I didn’t, I mean you look so…different.” she said with a smile.
“Oh. I forgot that you haven’t seen me in a while. I still had the dreds and stuff back then, didn’t I?” he asked as he ran a hand through his hair with an easy smile.
“Yeah, that must have been why I didn’t recognize you.” she said in explanation. She looked to where Anaya was peering on her tip toes into the clear container that housed the large vats of ice cream.
“When did this happen?” Lynn gestured to Anaya in curiosity, though her heart fell at the thought of him being married.
“About four years ago. I married her mother and we had her very shortly after.” he said as he watched his beautiful daughter with love in his eyes. Lynn sighed as she watched him. How much she wanted that for herself.
“So do you and your wife live here?” Lynn asked.
“Yeah we- Wait! No, I’m not married anymore, she left shortly after Anaya came along. Said she couldn’t handle the pressure of parenthood.” he explained. “Anaya and I moved here about a year ago while I finished my degree.”
“Oh…that’s good.” she said before she could catch herself. Her eyes bulged in shock and she added quickly, “I mean the part about your degree not the wife leaving thing.” she said as her cheeks reddened.
“I know what you meant, Lynn. You’re blushing again.” he said with a familiarity that both excited and scared her.
“I just can’t seem to get rid of it.” she said jokingly and he laughed in return.
“So…where do you live?” Lynn asked politely to keep the conversation going.
“Actually kind of near you…I live off of Wilson Street.” he said and Lynn started in surprise.
“Lynn, I’m related to Bill, of course he is going to tell me everything there is to know about you.” Tom said with a chuckle as she relaxed a little. Lynn smiled in return and she felt a peace settle over her that she had only felt when they had been together. It was nice and…scary.
“And I mean everything! Where you lived, where you worked, who you were seeing…” he trailed off as he shook his head. Lynn’s eyes widened in surprise before she looked down at her feet.
“I’m sorry you had to hear about that. I was lucky, I couldn’t get any information out of him.” she said quietly as tears began to well in her eyes.
“That’s because I made him swear not to tell you anything…I didn’t want you to go through what I had to go through when I talked to him.” He replied just as quietly as he watched her.
She was still as slender as ever though she had grown quite a bit taller. He hair was shorter, but still that fiery red that he loved. She looked up at him with those big brown eyes and he felt that familiar murmur in his chest as he sighed. Her eyes glistened with fresh tears and he stomach dropped as he stuttered out an apology.
“No, I didn’t mean to dredge it all up! I’m sorry.” he said as he hugged her lightly.
“It’s ok, it’s just my weird emotions.” she said with a watery smile.
“No, those emotions are completely valid, I’ve had them for the last four years…” he trailed off as he looked into her shocked eyes.
“Lynn, I am content. I am content with where I live, with my amazing daughter, with the chance to watch her grow. I am so blessed. But, I am not happy. Not since the last day I saw you go in that cab. I tried to love. I really did, but I have never felt anything with any other woman that was remotely close to what I had with you.” he said as he locked gazes with her.

Melanie sat clutching Mae’s hand as tears poured down her cheeks. An acoustic Bush song played softly in the background as the crowd stood and looked behind them. Lynn came down the isle in a beautiful white gown, her hair swept up into a classic up-do, her eyes misty from crying. She had her arm linked with her father’s as he sobbed audibly. Melanie reached her other hand for Sascha’s as they clung to each other tightly while they watched their friend walk up to them in all her glory. Melanie looked to where Tom stood beaming with fresh tears in his eyes as held onto Anaya’s hand. He led his daughter to Gustav who smiled and picked up his favorite niece. Melanie took in the scene: Lynn and Tom’s eyes so lovingly glued to each other’s as they cried, Bill, Gustav, and Georg watching proudly next to Tom, Mae, Sascha and herself dressed in a soft blue as they looked on, Anaya crying proudly as she watched her father marry the woman of his dreams.
