Last days of Tokio Hotel fundraiser for Designers against AIDS on Bravado!
From Ninette and Designers Against AIDS!
"Good day to all Tokio Hotel fans!
First of all, we want to wish all of you a happy and healthy 2010- we think it'll be a fantastic new decade!
Also we want to thank those of you who already bought the Tokio Hotel for DAA button set and/or who made a donation directly to DAA for our new education center via this link: http://tokiohotel.shop.bravadousa.com/Product.aspx?pc=BGAMTO08SET

As this action only runs until December 31st (ie, it ends in just 3 days!!!) we'd like to ask all of you to promote the TH fundraising project among as many fans and supporters as possible, so we can raise as much funding as needed.
So far you guys raised a little under 3000 euros from the donations alone (we don't know yet how many button sets were sold), so that means that we can decorate a room for 2 students and buy beds, bedlinen, a clothing cupboard, curtains etc. Let's try to make that TWO rooms by the end of this year!

Around 530 fans have donated so far (out of a possible 3 million fans;-), which means that all of you are still in for a BIG chance to win the main prize, when you donate as little as 2 euros: two concert tickets for the upcoming Humanoid tour AND a Meet & Greet with the band, or one out of 10 hand-signed Tokio Hotel T-shirts!

We're also very curious to see the results of the individual fundraising ideas and projects of Tokio Hotel fans worldwide- many of them will continue far into 2010 and that's very helpful, as we plan to open our Education Center in June of next year and we still need a lot to make the place look nice and inviting.
We also heard that Tokio Hotel has more plans to help DAA in 2010, but we'll have to wait until they return from their holidays to hear what they plan to do exactly.... What do you think?

Thank you for your ongoing support and happy holidays!
Ninette"

I'm glad our boys do so much work for something they GENUINELY believe in. This isn't the 'If we do this, we'll look good' publicity- you can tell how much it means to them. I'm donating, AND getting my boyfriend to buy me a couple of sets of badges XD

I totally agree and I think it's great of them to do this. It's not a publicity stunt to make them look better in the media--they're doing it because they want to and like you said, it's something they genuinely believe in. I'm going to try to ask my parents to let me to both--or at least donate a couple bucks. I'm with the boys in the fight for HIV/AIDS and using condoms. With all the crazy stuff going on in the world, I really don't understand why people still refuse to wear them. I mean you can get them free in America from practically anywhere--from schools to planned parenthood centers. I don't know about Europe but I'm assuming they have similar types of centers that provide them. And even if they don't, spending 5$ on a pack doesn't seem like a huge sacrifice when that pack could save your life. [/end rant]

The prizes are a nice incentive to get people who normally wouldn't care to join the fight, but like I said, I'm already a strong believer in this cause--the prizes are more of an "well, maybe **** will freeze over and I'll get that too" kind of thing to me.

HIV/AIDS awareness ftw!
and remember to use a condom.
or this will happen.

I'd buy them, but my parents would probably send me to an all girls school. They should put THEIR FACES on the condoms! OMG!

I think it's really great with what they're doing. Really good cause.
And I love how they're so involved in something!
I hope this raises a lot of money for the fund raiser. It's a good idea.
I'm gonna ask if I can buy one! xD

Definitely donating some and I try to donate more than just 2€, because this is a good cause. Studying a little of HIV/AIDS makes me hope that people should take it seriously and get information. Safe sex rocks! I have no need for badgets, but it's good that I can donate without buying and still show my support for both this cause AND TH.

And because I didn't win on MySpace-contest, it would be only fair to win M&G now

About HIV/AIDS in Finland and condoms... For regular use you must buy your condoms here (but really, it's not that much money when thinking about the risks - not just HIV/AIDS, but other STD's too), but there are free condoms provided in different situations. Like I've been sharing free condoms to people on summer festivals etc. I think it's possible to get few free from school etc. But it's not about problems of getting condoms, but it's more of an attitude... unfortunately.

In last few years, most of finnish HIV/AIDS -infections are from unprotected sex while on vacation on abroad or something. After started to provide free needles etc. for drug users, the number of HIV-infections through dirty needles has dicrease dramatically. Nowadays only few infections are caused by using dirty needles per year. Also most of the new infections are among straight people, not in gay community even it there is as much need for awareness too.

Main thing to understand is that you can get it from anywhere, it's not anymore something that bothers only gay people or drug users. And when founded early enough, nowadays there are many possibilities for medication and treatment to keep it not changing from HIV to AIDS.

Use a condom, people... really :-).

Do they charge for shipping/handling? I asked that in another thread but I noticed that was a duplicate thread. So I'm assuming this is the right thread.

They now have it on the USA shop thingy. The buttons that is. Yay. But it's not up yet so we have to wait awhile to order it. I think. But anyway yay. http://tokiohotel.shop.bravadousa.com/Product.aspx?cp=13345_13709&pc=BGAMTO08SET

I finally bought it. Well I bought it awhile ago. Now I ready for it to be delivered. Okay. I'm confused. Why is it way expensive in the USA? Just asking.. I''m not gonna complain. Anyway. Well since I've ordered on the Internet, and somehow it didn't put my full address. I ended up having to call them, so they could put my full address. I'm not buy it and it's not gonna be delivered to my full address.

I don't need buttons, but I do donate today. It's just little complicated to donate internationally, so I guess that is why this is little difficult campaign to support for many people. I have to use my husband Visa to do so etc. FAA with H&M last spring was easier to arrange for many people because they could support by walking to their closaest H&M or order via webshop in their home country, so maybe they should think of something like that next year?

But please, do participate, who can! :-)

EDIT: After trying to study the Donate-page, did I understood correctly that it's impossible to do so wi8thout Paypal-account? That when I use the credit card, they somehow create me a Paypal account, because in terms of use allo they talk about is Paypal this and that? If so, then I'll pass. I'm not goiung to create any Paypal-accounts to donate anything. Too difficult and complicated. Why couldn't there be a simple payment via Visa-option? Billing addresses and all? Forget it...*frustrates*

I guess my dad ordered the buttons for me for christmas, so they were backordered...He wasn't charged, so I doubt I'll be getting them. Ah, well. Perhaps I'll donate, even if I can't fly to europe given the teeny chance I'd win the contest.
