Tokio Hotel did a duet with Kerli for the Alice in Wonderland sountrack! It'll be out in March 2nd.

The rumors swirled. You heard that All Time Low and Avril Lavigne would appear on it. And that a collaboration between Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz would, too.

Well, we're hear to tell you: Those rumors were totally true.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg, as you can see now that we have been able to exclusively reveal the album's tracklisting. On top of the groups mentioned above, you'll also get Metro Station, Owl City, Robert Smith from The Cure, 3OH!3 (pictured above), Franz Ferdinand and plenty more re-imagining songs from the Disney classic.

Take a look, this thing is pretty stacked:

1. "Alice (Underground)" performed by Avril Lavigne
2. "The Poison" performed by The All-American Rejects
3. "The Technicolor Phase" performed by Owl City
4. "Her Name Is Alice" performed by Shinedown
5. "Painting Flowers" performed by All Time Low
6. "Where's My Angel" performed by Metro Station
7. "Strange" performed by Tokio Hotel and Kerli
8. "Follow Me Down" performed by 3OH!3 featuring Neon Hitch
9. "Very Good Advice" performed by Robert Smith
10. "In Transit" performed by Mark Hoppus with Pete Wentz
11. "Welcome to Mystery" performed by Plain White T's
12. "Tea Party" performed by Kerli
13. "The Lobster Quadrille" performed by Franz Ferdinand
14. "Running Out of Time" performed by Motion City Soundtrack
15. "Fell Down a Hole" performed by Wolfmother
16. "White Rabbit" performed by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

The album, which is being called Almost Alice, will be in stores in March 2nd, while a video for the soundtrack's first single, "Alice (Underground)" by Avril Lavigne," is due in early February.

Ok, well sorry to be pessimistic about his, but does anyone realize that this is Disney? Disney blows their singers up so much,so imagine the new CFFs. But then again, Disney may only be using them for this soundtrack because they need bands that are squeaky clean and all. Im a little conflicted on this. The cons are what i listed above, plus tons more crazy fans, and harder to get to concerts. the pros are that they will have more concerts in the US if Disney exploits them and it is the boys' dreams to get big in the US. Dont get mad at me please, but this is just my opinion. Im not sure whether i love this idea or hate it. And also do you think that shes the girl in the German version of Phantomrider?

no, I highly doubt Kerli is the girl who sings with bill in the german version of Phantomrider. Her voice is not the same.

um....I don't think Disney is using Tokio Hotel in any way. TH doesn't have a squeaky clean image. and the soundtrack hasn't been released yet. I don't see how anything bad can happen from having TH has one of the artists on the soundtrack. If anything, TH will be able to break through into America if fans and non-fans like their song.

[begin rant]

Let's get down to business--I used to love Tim Burton. Really, I thought his Gothic-themed world of whimsy and morbid delight was the land of my dreams. But I feel like he's sold out. He's known for the aforementioned style--Gothic and creepy meets Disney whimsy--and I think he just gave up being unique to keep fans from RAGING at him doing something even more off the wall. I'm not a fan of his marriage to Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter--great actors they may be. It's kind of like he just... gave up his uniqueness, like he doesn't even try anymore. Everything is "I'm Tim Burton so let's make everything look Gothic and Johnny Depp" which is totally fine, if he didn't completely surpriz raepz the stories in order to keep Johnny Depp as the main character.

Alice in Wonderland is a child's book written by some guy high on LSD who liked little girls. Disney's Alice in Wonderland is a child's movie about a little girl lost in an LSD-inspired world.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is the Battle for Narnia meets Battle for Middle Earth featuring Johnny Depp on LSD.

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z121/PicklePup/watisthisTom.jpg

So, if you can't tell, I'm not happy about him doing this movie. Alice and I go way back--as in my nickname was Alice as a kid and I've always loved it (book and Disney movie, despite the Disney raeping that occurred). That's my childhood he's tweaking with and I C WUT HE DID THARR. e___e

And since when does Tim Burton sell out his movies to famous bands for soundtrack music? To me, Burton's doing everything possible to keep the Hot Topic and his Hot Topic obsessed tweens happy.

[/end rant]

I know a lot of you are super excited for either the movie or the TH duet, which is cool.

But my entire opinion on the movie and the duet can be summed up with this:

Woah Woah and Woah. Wait... WOAH.

Alice in Wonderland has a lot of meaning behind it. And if no ones has realized this, most Disney movies have NOTHING to do with Disney. Walt Disney decided to cartoon-ify Snow White one day and BOOM! That's when the Disney enterprise started taking stories and making them kid-friendly. AIW had nothing to do with Disney AT ALL, until it was made into a Disney movie. After that, everyone completely forgot that it was actually a book first. It has a lot of mathematical, historical, etc references:

In chapter 8, three cards are painting the roses on a rose tree red, for they accidentally planted a white-rose tree which the Queen of Hearts hates. Red roses symbolized the English House of Lancaster, while white roses were the symbol for their rival House of York. Therefore, this scene may contain a hidden allusion to the Wars of the Roses.

In chapter 7, "A Mad Tea-Party," the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, and the Dormouse give several examples in which the semantic value of a sentence A is not the same value of the converse of A (for example, "Why, you might just as well say that 'I see what I eat' is the same thing as 'I eat what I see'!"); in logic and mathematics, this is discussing an inverse relationship.
(From Wikipedia, cause I didn't feel like explaining)

And the Mad Hatter isn't just some crazed character he made up. A long time ago, something used to makes hats (I forgot lol) had mercury in it which the makers of the hats inhaled while doing their job. They, of course, went crazy.

And by the way, I see nothing wrong with Tim Burton favoriting Johnny Depp & Helena Bonham Carter. They pull of that whole "dark" "creepy" thing very well.

But your opinions are your opinions.

I actually prefer "Through the Looking Glass" a bit more over "Alice in Wonderland," but that's just me. Both books DO have a lot of double meaning and social commentary though. They're not really children's books.

In any case, I believe Burton's version is supposed to act more as a sequel, which I think is fabulous. =)

(Especially since I've been shipping Alice/Hatter since I read a comic called 'When Curiosity Met Insanity' a few years back.)

Mikoto
January 12th, 2010, 10:17 PM
I personally cannot wait to see it. Plus, Disney isn't the same as the Disney Channel, which is like, Hannah Montanna, Sonny with a Chance, etc. Disney make lots of movies that aren't children based (Pirates of the Carribean(sp?)).

I've always liked Alice in Wonderland, just the feel of it, with the parallel universe, almost. And now that it's being recreated again is awesome. And I've always liked Tim Burton too, with his gothic view on things. I think it will be a really good movie. And the fact that Tokio Hotel music will be in it will make it much better 8)

Yep, she's a great actress too, and Johnny Depp is very versatile. I'd favor them too if I were a director.

I think Johnny does his best work in Tim's films. I guess because they aren't cookie cutter roles that anybody could pull off.

Yeah, I think actors like Johnny kind of need a bit more freedom to just do their thing, and Tim let's him have that.

This is great, I would have never guessed that this was movie they were going to be in, so much better publicity than what they would or wouldn't have, gotten in New Moon.

I want them to do a video for it, seeing Bill's and Kerli's styles in the same place would be great.

Lewis Carrol was rumoured to be a pedofile? :?

Why, because he wrote about a little girl? Or was it something else...? And ew, Helena is married to Tim Burton? Isn't he like... 60 years old or something? LMAO.

EDIT: @Adrienne; exactly what I was thinking! It's much better than being in anything to do with the Twilight saga, because then the only publicity they would get would be "That band that did the song for Twilight". Plus, like mentioned in the whole 'Bill in Twilight' thread, then we'd get all the Twilight crazies. Not good.

She's no spring chicken. He's not that old.

Lewis Carroll was rumored to be kind of obsessed and have relationships with young girls and not grown women.

So this Alice in Wonderland, I have been excited to watch it badly since I found out Johnny Depp was in it, and then of course, the amazing Tim Burton was involved, so I was like, I MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!

And now that I have seen all these amazing artists in the soundtrack...

Tim Burton never uses soundtrack music in his movies. I also asked her if Strange will become a single. She ignore that questioned. About the single, it was already written for TH but the producers needed a female to be a part of it.

She also said artists were chosen for the soundtrack purposely to make sure it'd sell.

I don't think TH will make an appearance. The tour will be in session and so far, everything will go as according to plan.

I know. I'm surprised at the level of unprofessionalism I've witnessed with some producers/labels over the years...

this is basically exactly what happened...

After talking about meeting other writers and hearing what they say when they come to clarity moments in songwriting, I asked her what TH told her about the song. She kind of paused and said "Well... they didn't actually write it." Then her producer made a horrible joke about the fact that TH didn't write the song - "They would have to have talent to write" or something like that

and then Kerli's reaction was all "SHHH! don't say that!"

so idk... nobody get mad at Kerli haha it was mostly her producer being dumb. haha

Yes, haters will hate etc. and it's not a big deal, but somehow I still feel like I'm not in a mood to listen to that and still let it NOT affect me. I'm being overly sensitive now, but I feel like I can't/don't want to let anyone say things and still leave it without a "punishment". I'm not interested in arguing, because that is pointless with these things, but I just ignore. It's like if I visit in a restaurant and they serve me bad food or I don't like the staff there, I usually don't start to argue, but simple don't go there second time. They got their change, they blew it, so they lost me as a customer. I see this maybe a bit too much as a customer service industry and I feel like a customer expecting to get decent service after paying for it.

But I give Kerli a credit for saying that :-D

I’m more into seeing the movie more then the song by Kerli and TH, lol sorry. Been a fan of Alice in Wonderland, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Deep much longer then TH.

You know what would be cute if Bill and Kerli dated? I think they would be so cute together, that just me. Both have unique styles and personalities, like there opposite gender of each other. Like Kerli reminds me of a female Bill, with female body parts and with blonde hair (even though Bill looks like a girl in sometimes), while Bill a male version of Kerli. Makes sense? I’m not good at explaining but that’s what I think.

I don't know if there is a leak, but two, three versions I found are Kerli's song from her previous production, not Alice in Wonderland. That's according to comments left on both videos.

In the videos that Ray(it was Ray wasn't it... o.O) posted before of the songs actually there, the Owl City one has got 03 in the title, so I assumed that that means she/he'd have the rest. And they do. If you click "More from insert-youtuber-here" is has the Tokio Hotel one there.

I'd say that's it :|

Oh. Well, I just saw "Tokio Hotel". Maybe it hasn't actually been released/leaked yet. Idk. Part of me just wants to listen to it, and the other half feels really theiving and and guilty when I listen to leaked songs because they've worked really hard and stuff, and then you go and listen to it before they want you to. It's half half for me. But the "I feel guilty, so no to leaks" is the more dominent side

Ah well. I guess we'll hear in time... March 2nd isn't that far away is it? :|

not really....the entire Almost Alice soundtrack album will stream on Feb. 28th via Myspace Music. http://ventvox.com/?p=11937 And, as you can see, few of the songs have been released. So, I'm sure TH's song is on its way soon!

EDIT: The song some of you are referring to is a demo. So, it could very well be the song that TH/Kerli collaborated on.

I'm honestly positively surprised. I was excited, but also very nervous about the song and how it will come out, but...

I Llked the few seconds of Strange and a lot! It's very promising so far. Bill sounded actually reat with female vocalist (even if I actually couldn't hear her much). Somehow I've been a bit afraid to listen to Bill with anyone.

Except I can barely hear Kerli! Lol!, I mean WTF?...

But the chorus I can barely hear her...It irks me...JUUUST a tad! Lol!

It's...interesting. I kinda have to agree with Ayame with the 'nails on a chalkboard' thing, though. Maybe I'll like the full version better.

Also, and I'm just curious here, why is it that everything around here always ends up being about sex? I mean, I find Bill as desirable as the next girl, but that doesn't mean I need to objectify him at every turn. It seems like everywhere I go on here lately someone is trying to hypersexualize things and add subtext that, in my opinion, doesn't need to be there. What's so wrong with just talking about the music?

I'm not a prude or anything, but I really don't get it. Some, on occasion, is absolutely fine, but some days it seems like the Tokio Hotel boys can't even pick a different shirt or pair of pants without someone trying their hardest to turn it into a sexual thing. For example, the DSquared show. Yes, Bill filled out those pants well, but, at the same time, he's also male, and has been for the whole duration of the band. Why is it worthy of constant, repetative note that he has a penis?

Then, more recently, the tour interview they did. Yes, they were quite cheeky in that, being 20 year old boys, but on our end, do we need a screen cap of Bill's groin? Really? It just seems rather Junior High to me.

And I seem to have run this thread off topic, so, on topic, I, once again, look forward to getting the chance to hear the whole of these songs. :)

I wonder the same thing too, sometimes. I don't need to see a screen shot of Bill's bump. Yes, he's a man, and he has a bump. Woopdydoo, Basil, but what does it all mean? XD

At the moment it seems like waiting to hear the full version of Strange might do it for me. Kerli can hit her notes and is very talented, I'm sure; The sound of her voice, interestingly though, isn't too pleasant to my ears. I'm not ruling out the possibility of Strange growing on me though. I had to get used to Cher's sound, and work up a tolerance for Shakira's voice in a catchy song of hers that I liked back in the day. Bill, on the other hand, sounds amazing of course! ^ See, this is exactly what I was talking about earlier. Why does Bill's penis even matter in the grand scheme of the soundtrack for a Disney movie? Who cares if it's stuffed or real or anything? It has no bearing on the conversation at hand at all, and yet it's still dredged up.

Moving on, I don't think that they'll ever perform the song together. You don't often see duets on stage unless it's a special occasion concert.

thank you!
it amazes me how some conversations turn into something sexual on here.. it just leads to things getting out of hand and off topic..

i would love to see them perform the song together or even just make a video.. i don't see it happening though..
i think i'd just love to see how the band would look with someone else on stage with them..

I'd like to hear the songs but no I'm not coz I really don't like Kerli and you know what? I don't care if TH will or will not perform on stage coz maybe that would be good for their fame and maybe they would earn more fans..it's just my POV. But well, anyways I prefer TH playing all by theirselfs and not with annoying singers! :s

Gah, I might regret this later but I would like to point out that some of our members... ARE in fact in junior high, so really, you can't expect the same level (or type) of maturity from everyone. (Which is not to say that I don't know a few younger members that are more mature than some older members. It varies.) >_>

In any case, I am not liking Kerli's voice in Strange. It's weird and unpleasant. Though I DO like Tea Party. O_o

^^ I was replying to the ones who WERE talking about stuff like that and trying to tell them basically to get over the fantasy because it's not real, meaning quit talking about it.

Fans' reactions, thoughts, and ideas of the band are reflective of the representations they see everyday. I am definitely one of those fans who makes sex jokes in relation to Tokio Hotel, if the oppurtunity presents itself. I don't succumb to temptation each and every time. But, I think I do it enough for some members to notice and comment. Bill has objectified himself. The fans didn't do it to him. No, they've simply reacted to the words and actions they hear and see. When Bill poses as such:

I wouldn't expect fans to ignore the obvious and only comment on the whiteness of Bill's outfit. The music/entertainment industry reeks of sexuality. It is used to gain the attention of an audience, it is used to sell. and It works.

I can only speak for myself regarding this issue. While I do not think it's right to make explicit sexual comments on a pg-13 forum. I do not see anything wrong in making comments of a sexual nature if they do not break the rule. Nor do I think it is ok to to tell what members what they can or cannot talk about if the content of their posts do not break the forum rules.

I hope full versions of the Strange and Tea Party come out soon. I'm anxious to listen to the entire songs.

Excellent ramble, but, shockingly, there are no photos involved in listening to a 30 second preview of a song. Thus Bill objectifying himself by posing in a way that the photographer more than likely instructed him to, doesn't really have a lick of bearing on the conversation, nor does it address the type of objectification that I think IBNI was mentioning, that being dredging as hard as humanly possible to find something, anything, to use to objectify the boys, whether it's something that is there in reality or something that needs to be grabbed at out of the ether just to have something to say. I've noticed it myself that people on this forum will reach and grab at anything - even something as minor as a word choice - as an excuse to make a pointless sex joke.

Also, having read through this, other than a few agreements from the mods in wondering why people feel the need to CONSTANTLY treat the boys like meat, no one said word one on telling people what they could and could not post.

Transparent Elegance makes a good point in that a lot of our members are Jr High aged, which would explain a certain level of immaturity from them (I mean that with NO offense to any Jr High aged members, by the way, I've been there myself and I still remember what it was like).

I'm not saying that the forum needs to be laced tighter than a 1890's corset and you simply MUST never say anything that you wouldn't say in front of your sainted grandmother/a priest (while not in confession)/in polite company, but considering the amount of complaint that I see from people on the fact that we supposedly CAN'T have a mature conversation on this forum without it devolving into juvenile sex talk and off topicness, I'm surprised that people would be so quick to defend that very thing. You can't really have both, after all.

Alright, SOOPER SIRIUS time over, and back on topic. As much as I like Avril Lavigne, I'm totally not feeling it on that first song on the soundtrack. I may have...cringed a few times listening through it.

To answer some of the questions brought up, their is so much you can talk about on here so that's why it always lead to other things that you all were complaining about.

Talking about their music or whatever is boring because there is not that much to talk about in the first place. Well I don't be on the forum that much anyway. I used to but now I'm on twitter most of the time.

Most people get on here just to read fanfics and blah blah. I'm not saying it as a bad thing. i was just using that as an example. I'm not trying to force other people to converse but I hate it when other people complain about things when they rarely even converse with anyone on the forum. How ironic???

I'm not using that as an excuse. I mean there is so much you can talk about without going around in circles.

Just my opinion. If you have anything to add, then you may.

Edit: Oh yes for the millionth time. I love the song so far. :)

love, alex.

I have the uncontrolable need to tell you this:
If you can't take the heat, then get the f/uck out the kitchen.

But there isn't a need to take our sex jokes seriously. We're just joking and having fun.

They weren't complaining, they were just asking, it's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I agree with what someone said before; I'd also like to hear Bill's voice with another male's. Or, I would like to hear his voice with a higher female voice. I liked the girl's voice in Geisterfahrer, it was very angelic and soft, but yet a little high (if you know what I mean). It'd be nice if they could find another person like that, but who's singing with Bill. But, before I die, I would love to hear Bill and another guy's voice clash. Maybe it'll sound awesome :O

I know that's why I gave my opinion.

Well I think it's complaining. Most of the time when I have a problem with a certain issue, I just ignore it especially if it's not that serious. I think a few people do ignore it. Or just ignore the people who do it the most. Plain and simple. I'm not trying to get people to ignore people but it was just a healthy suggestion.

I will admit that I did have a problem with some of it until I was like "wth" I'll just join in with them. I mean it was kinda fun but when it got too much I'd just ignore it. Most of time it's fun.

But people love to take the fun out of everything

Just my opinion.

Did I tell you guys that I had a dream about the full version of the Strange song. lol
