What I was about to say before was that I have to agree with the impression that Tom might have (had) someone during the summer/autumn. I was almost sure about it, when they had this one of the first interviews where he said that he would like to fall in love. If he did have a relationship, it could have been with anyone; staff, close friend, industry girl, even a fan. My opinion is that Tom is much more pratical/realistic about love/relationships/women/sex than his brother Bill. While he may not seem gung ho about finding the love of his life at this point in his life. He's definitely more open to it than ever before. Tom has matured.

One more thing, Tom never said that he'd tell the media if he has a girlfriend. He doesn't share any details about the hook-ups he does have. So, I don't imagine him talking about his romantic relationships.

I can see girl going out with a girl who likes the same music as him, i.e, rap and such, but who appreciates rock music too. I don't see her being TH's number one fan, but I think Tom would be hurt if the girl couldn't appreciate or like the bands music they make, but I think Tom could oversee that if she's totally dedicated to him, he'd prefer that than her being dedicated to the music.

What would they bring to a relationship, what would they have to offer someone, would they be there for someone in times of need, would they hold her hair back if she were throwing up, would they meet her family, would they stay with her in a hospital if she were ill or someone in her family was ill, would they like her just as much in sweatpants and a tshirt and no makeup? I think things like this are very important.

I honestly believe that Tom will give his all to the woman he chooses to love. Yes, he has this playboy image that seems to confuse people. But, if you look past that persona and observe the way Tom loves and cares for his brother. You'll see a very caring, thoughtful, loving young man. It's a complete contrast to the image we often see portrayed in interviews. I'm sure the same affection/love Tom has for Bill and other important people in his life will transfer into a loving relationship with the woman of his choice. He tries to act like a badass. That's a really good point actually. No one ever asks them what they could bring to a relationship, girls just want to know what kind of girls they like so that they can try to be that person and "make" the boys fall in love with them. Yes Bill says his little romantic things sometimes, but he has to know that a relationship isn't just sunshine and lollipops all the time.

But, right after his answer, she switches it around and asks Tom what he would do to impress a girl. If you look at his facial expression while he is trying to come up with an answer. You can tell he was caught off-guard and wasn't sure what kind of response he should give. Georg came to the rescue and said a typical Tom answer: he would sleep with the girl.

So, I think that even if a fan or a reporter/journalist were to ask the boys, mainly Bill and Tom, what sort of qualities would make them good boyfriends, how they would contribute in a relationship, or how they can manage to have a girlfriend while traveling all over the world. We might not receive the kind of answer we want to hear. Bill/Tom have avoided answering touchy questions by beating around the bush or coming up with some joke to switch the attention away from them.

But that's a very good question what would make them to be a good bf and what could they give to a relatonship. It's one of the things nobody normally asks them. I think this shows the routine and rehealsal they (have to) keep in media. When suddenly that kind of question is asked, they get confused, brecause they don't have an answer. Is it because they don't have a routine answer and they actually have to think what they can say about it (remember that every single word they say, is taken literally and remembered and repeated over and over in this fandom) or is it because they never think about it? I think it's both.

Just like Ray said, I don't think the real answer to thst question can never be reached with regular interviews. It needs a lot more and - to be honest - a conversation outside the media.

I agree. I don´t think you can have that love for another person (his brother) and be totally different in a relationship with a girl. He has the playboy image and seems cool and confident, but underneath it all he seems like a sweetheart. And being that close, him and Bill, even if they are very different in some ways, I don´t think they could be that different when it comes to how they treat the girl they love.

I guess I'll just agree to disagree with the majority here, I still say while Tom might have a good heart and be a good person inside, he seems like a "what you see is what you get" type of person. I am willing to believe his sex talk and pervertedness is a part of the real him, not just an image. Why would someone want to portray that type of image, it's actually pretty disgusting, lol. If that's who he is though for real, at least he owns it and stays true to himself.

I think Tom likes the girly-girl hot women types, who wear makeup and fix their hair and dress nice all the time. I don't know, I guess I'm just weird, but I don't see anything bad in sex itself. I think a person can be sexually active and/or turn the relationship physical pretty quickly without that it automatically means that the person is disrespectful or not interested of the partner or the relationship is automatically doomed. At least not from my personal experience. Also in a way that waiting would have saved or quaranteed anything in emotional level.

To be honest, I don't think Tom is actually, like, all innocent and all like some people say he is, I totally agree with the majority that he is more 'pervy', if you know what I mean? Well, I find it disrespectful when guys make crude comments about women like that. I guess I am old fashioned but who really wants to hear that some guy wants a girl to impress him by sleeping with him? Maybe if he said it one time that would be a joke and would be funny, but since that seems to be the only thing he cares about in the opposite sex because he talks about it and makes comments on it so much, it gets old and even offensive. Like I said, if that's the real him (which I am guessing it is) at least he is honest about it and like he said, he doesn't give girls false hope or anything.

But I really just don't get the big fascination with sex. What is so great about it? How can some people meet randomly and hook up like that? (If that's your thing go for it no offense meant) but sex to me is something so very personal and private, it's a huge deal. Some people act like it's nothing..I can't wrap my head around that. There are all kinds of consequences to sex...STDs, pregnancies..etc., it seems such a huge risk to take in order to roll around in the hay for a couple of hours. Sex to me seems gross and messy and embarrassing mostly, but maybe I am weird because I find kissing pretty awkward and gross.

And another thing, it takes a lot before I let someone in. I have a hard time with even holding hands and hugging, you don't get in my personal space unless I want you there and you have to earn it. I just can't understand how some people let someone else be so intimate with them, specially if it's someone you only met once and have a one night stand with.

Do the girls Tom sleeps with have to sign a contract or something? It seems if not, they'd all be gossiping about it.

I personally have a very strong libido, if that's the word the use here, but never in my I've had to have sex to get my needs filled. I have two working hands, so it has always been about a want to be close to thart particular person and feel him also physically. It's hard for me to see, why sex is seen so "sacrifying" thing if it's not happened after months or years of waiting. I agree that just jumping from bed to another without actually thinking own motives may be a risky business and gives probably nothing, but I think sex in itself can be nice and beautiful experience after knowing just a short time too. It's all about the mutual respect and that both wants to have the experience because they like each other. I don't think having a good sex needs necessary romantic LOVE to happen, but sex can be good and connection with other person warm and respectful even if there would be no thoughts of long lasting relationship or a long shared background. Everything is dusty and half the stuff expired in 1876. Most of the shelves are like some contraption using umbrellas and duct tape. And there's lots of food boxes that are open and spilled everywhere. I don't even know if I'd make it through the store to buy the candy.

He refrains from talking about personal opinions about women by cracking a generalised sex joke. That way he doesnt have to give away his inner thoughts/feelings (and maybe insecurities), gains respect as the 'comedian' of the group and his confidence is restored.

I agree with you! It's much easier to make jokes than to be serious and reveal true, inner feelings. With the video interview I provided earlier on, there's a great example of Tom using a sexual joke/comment as a way to keep himself from answering a serious question.

America's idea of dating is much different than Germany's idea of dating. so, while Tom says he hates dating. I do think he still goes out and mingles with women.

When that first photo of Tom/Chantelle came out, they were in a restaurant. and if i'm not mistaken, they were not alone. I do think Bill was there too and so was Chantelle's friends. It was a whole group. So, while it seems as if Tom/Chantelle were on a private date. It seems as if it was a group outing.

When Tom meets a woman he likes and wants to spend time some time with her. I think he will do what he can do depending on the amount of free time he has. Tom usually talks about inviting a girl back to his hotel room.

I think that Georg does have a girlfriend. There is no point in him lying, and Georg wouldn't do that anyway. He's Georg, come on. I mean...Tom...yeah, I could see that. Maybe. But even with him it's a stretch. Georg...no.

And I think it's interesting the way the twins respond to love. Each so drastically, and completely different than the other. Bill feels like it would be the best thing in the world, but that it's not possible. And you can tell he really, genuinely feels that way, because if you watch closely (and i'm sure you all do, as do i ;) ) when he talks about love, he gets a sad look in his eye. That and he's totally obsessed with it. That's the other clue-in. So, Bill = obsessed with love. Tom, on the other hand, almost pushes it away. This is just my opinion, but I get the feeling that Tom almost fears true commitment. That's why he says it would get boring to be with one girl forever. That's why he hasn't dated seriously in quite a long time. He fears being with a person like that, for whatever reason. So Tom = afraid of commitment.

I think they both developed radical views on the subject of love because of their parents' divorce. When you're as young as they were, yet still old enough to realize what's going on, then you'd be effected. They were both effected somewhat negatively. Right now, of course, he doesn't "believe" in love, if that makes sense, but he will, eventually, find a girl that can and will change that. However, that is far in the future - like you said, he's 20. That and he's an international rockstar....not exactly the most desirable boyfriend material (well okay, desirable, but not the consequences). you're right. Before Tokio Hotel existed, Tom/Bill were different. But, I think as the twins became more famous. Their differences were exaggerated to the extreme. There is some truth to what we see on TV, read about in interviews and such. But, it's not the entire truth.

I think the good twin, bad twin thing is exaggerated too. I am willing to bet both Tom and Bill are probably perverted guys who get laid. I've always wondered how much is he taking from people before he snaps. With Bill he is used to take quite a lot (as we've seen in all those occasions you said) and I think that these roles keep the balance between them in harmony. It would be interesting to know have theior roles separated alwauys like this. For what I've understood, Tom has always been that big brother already from their younger age. Maybe he has taken it in a way that he needs to protect Bill to the very end, be "the mature one and not argue" and let Bill burst out, feel the responsibility of Bill etc. It's like he has been teached to be "a big boy" and how big boys are not supposed to fight back with their younger brothers, but act like "adults"? Also we know that he had had discipline issues back in the days at school, so how has that been handled? I've been working with teens, who have had problems at school just because it has been the only place to burst out all those drabbed emotions inside. This is all just very, very wild guiessing and probably not true at all, but I think this is very interssting subject to talk about.

It can truly become a problem if he doresn't learn how to bring out his emotions on constructive way. He has probably lived 20 years giving up lots of things for his brother, who surely knows how to be needy in many different ways. It's not how much he can take, because apparently he can take A LOT, but about when it's going to boil over. I don't know, just my two cents.

To respond to the person who went Dr. Phil (haha i love it!): I think everyone is pretty much pushed into a role in their lives that they play out. When the twins were small it was probably discovered of the two that Bill was the weak one, the more feminine and sensitive one, while Tom was more manly and harsh. Tom probably took on this role and in school I can see him defending Bill from bullies and all that. And in that interview where he talks about how Bill wanted to become a pro scooter rider or something, what he said he seemed to encourage it in Bill and he didn't crush his dream, so he has probably always been in the role of the protective older brother while Bill has probably gotten away with murder for being more flamboyant, lol.

Yeah, his behavior in school kind of rang a bell with me too. It's been my experience so far (counseling major) and I've worked with troubled kids as well, but the behavioral problem kids usually have something going on at home that is effecting them. Could be the divorce that caused Tom's (and I think Bill had some too? I might be wrong) behavior problems. Personally, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but I've always thought their comments about how their mother raised them seemed a little bit...off. It strikes me as odd that a mother would let her pre-teen children run around at all hours of the night and come home drunk and make homework optional, and let them wear baggy jeans and shirts to a formal ceremony, and dye their hair at age 9..and also let her young kids travel with strangers so young and pretty much quit school. Now I'm not saying she was a bad mother, she sounds pretty cool, but kids NEED boundaries and it seems like maybe she gave them too many freedoms and responsibilities at a young age. I think kids crave guidance and if they aren't getting the guidance they need, they act out in different ways to get it. Kids who act out with violence and disturbances in school I have usually found when getting to know them further, there are issues at play in their family structures. Also, the twins seem to have some issues with their biological father which is more than likely a factor as well.

^^ Regarding that photo, Tom and Bill are so different in size! lol..also, didn't Bill used to have the fakey orange tan and Tom was white, now they are reversed! Bill is so tiny...it makes me want to send him a care package of food or something. and gag at the cigarettes.

I am always late in these threads, but I will say something anyway...

I saw something about when they have kids, and if they have twins etc. I think it will be more likely for their kids or grandkids to have twins.

There was also something about Tom being more sensitive and hiding... I think they both hide. Bill was bullied for the way he wanted to look. I don´t know if Tom was bullied for defending Bill, but when you are bullied, you learn to hide. I was bullied when I was younger. In a way it made me stronger, but I have walls, and I kind of hide things about me. Being in their situation, I think it´s very easy to hide some parts about yourself, of who you really are, to protect yourself and not get hurt as easily.

Someone said something about that the ones that acts confident are usually the ones that are sensitive, or something like that, I don´t remember exactly. I can see Tom being more sensitive, and shy, than he appears to be. It´s about hiding again.
And being the older brother, defending Bill when he needed it, maybe he took on the role of being the protective brother, and since he did that, he has to be the stronger one, he can`t show us the sensitive side, casue that would make him weak, or something.

I just watched a video of Tom playing the piano. There was something so sweet about it, like he put the macho man aside for a moment.

A - Yes. Same music interest, same personal style (although I do hav my 'dress girly' moments. I joke about alot but still keep things serious when needed and of course....

to be brutally honest with myself, personality-wise I think we'd get along! In terms of physical, eh.....i have what he likes! ;) But, I don't think he likes the big girls! for the next question, I'd say.....yes! I mean, why not? Tom seems like a really cool guy.

I do agree with you that Tom would get bored easily. It's probably why he wants a fun, spontaneous girl. He needs to be entertained. It may be easy to get his attention. But, it'll be hard to keep it. At the same time, I think a a girl who knows how to have fun, loves to have fun, is carefree and open would be able to keep Tom's interest.
