Okay so first I posted this on the creative corner but maybe it is suppose to be on this thread?

Anyway, if anyone knows of a better place to put it PLEASE let me know.

So I had this idea and I don't know if this already has a thread but I was thinking that below we could all post and discuss our favorite TH covers of fans. I see so many of them on youtube and a lot of people put so much effort into them.

I live in a little attic (it's pretty tiny) at my sisters in Holland right now (moving back to germany in July) and I use my MacBookPro and a Microphone with the Program "Logic Pro 9"

Sounds much more advanced than what I use, Skyla.. I only use the webcam on my laptop. I do actually have Cubase, but I´ve never learned how to use it, and now I have to install it again to be able to use it.

Yea, I know what you mean in the beginning I didn't have a lot of people listening to my songs. It really started with "world behind my wall" for some reason. I wish I had more friends and clicks though. But all at it's right time ;) we just have to be patient ;)

Hey, don't put yourself down!
With a mindset like that you are right, you wont be a singer.
If you really want to be a singer you have to believe in yourself and trust yourself that you can do it. Don't ever give up and don't let others put you down. Once you set your mind to something you can do ANYTHING. Don't tell yourself or let others tell you that you can't do something. Following your dreams is a hard road to take, but it will be worth it in the end.
When people told me that I always thought "yea right, if it was like that then EVERYONE would be a singer or dancer or whatever" but it is not like that because too many people give up too easily. They forget how to fight and get lost along the way.

And so you know, I believe in you and I think you have a really nice voice!

Don't give up, keep working on it! =D

@OMGimCARRIE -- I like it too! :) You've got a great voice, and I love hearing the TH songs done acoustically!

As for me, whoo, I just got some of my studio equipment set back up, and I also finally made a new YT account! So hopefully I'll be posting some stuff here soon! :grin: I think I mentioned before, they're not exactly full "covers" but I'm a sucker for singing harmony and back vocals.. and I'm excited to hear what people will think of my additions to Bill and Co :P

I won't lie I cringe at the thought of people covering one of my favorite bands but something made me check out OMGimCARRIEs "Durch Den Monsun" and WOW I was really pleasantly surprised to say the least. That was really well done CARRIE ( and Josh) you guys get two skinny painted Bill thumbs up !!

YES!!! Another harmony person!! :grin: Your voice is absolutely gorgeous. I loved HCTH. In Die Nacht was great as well (HARMONY!) and I loved the arrangement you used for Scream.

If I may give you some feedback, I think the Autotune masks the real beauty of your voice. Tone it down some and oh man, I think they'll be phenomenal.

I enjoy singing, but I have a terrible singing voice. I've never had any voice training and when I sing I just do it for the fun of it. I don't have any singing talent at all. If I ever did any covers, the quality would be bad (all I have is either the mic on my computer or my video camera and I don't have any voice editing programs) and compared to these covers, they would be pretty embarrassing and terrible. :roll:

I don´t really care about the ones who say they don´t like my covers. I record with a webcam, pretty good sound, but not the best thing to record with. And IRL some people would like my singing, and some wouldn`t. But of course it´s always more fun to hear that someone likes it .

--this person does some really nice mashups of various TH songs along with wicked atmosphere/techno versions. Some of them are fun to dance to but others are absolutely beautiful! They also edit the originals and do just the instrumentals w/backup vocals. I seriously recommend everyone checking these out--they're amazing! The pictures they use for their videos are also beautiful manips of Bill so it's nice eye-candy as well. ;) Again, I'll post my favorites and let you check out the rest.

The Collaboration Mixes are great if you want to listen to both the German AND English versions at the same time. One line in the songs will be English and the next line will be German. Very nice though I don't recommend downloading the songs since they are still TH's originals just set up differently. The YouTuber for this is "thequeenbee1992."


She (I would assume it's a she since the person's name is "queen") is amazing at these--it really helps you learn the german versions if it's harder for you to grasp all of that german at one time. This makes it a lot easier to ease into the language (at least it did for me). :grin: It's also great to hear the different styles of singing/instrumental work used for the different editions.

Another Collaboration/Mashup genius is YouTuber Overtheskil, who does collabs of both the German and English songs...at the same time. :shock1:

If you listen to it straight off of your computer speakers it's going to sound like a jumbled mess (though a pleasant mess). However, if you plug your headphones in, you'll find a nice surprise: in one ear the English version will play while in the other, the German version will play. Again, it's a great way to learn the German/English language and appreciate the differences the guys have put into each series of songs.
