Who Else Messed Up His Name??

When I first found out what his name was I said it like the French would say it: "Georges" <- didn't really like that

Then I thought it was "Je-Or" <- I thought that was really cute

Then "Ghe-Or" <-That was an awesome name

Then stupid me figured out it was "Ghe-Org" <- IDK why I never thought of pronouncing the end "g"

Or, at least, I think that's right....

whatever.

BTW all this happened over a 1-2 month period.

Georges: for 3 days
Je-Or: for 2 weeks
Ghe-Or: for 4 weeks

When they speak German, they say it like "Gee-org" when they speak in English they say it like "George" (like curious George)
I found that interesting how they change his name with whatever language they speak.

I don't think Georg cares any more because people always butcher his name in intereviews and he'll just go with it, like the interview in France. lol

I knew it wasn't "George" from the very beginning. I had a VERY, VERY, VERY hard time learning his name! I was always trying out something new and ridiculous. My friend and I would say something new practically every day. I asked my grandmother, who learned German in college, and she taught me how to pronounce his name. I also listened to Georg say his own name. Personally I think of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh with a G at the front and end of the name. :roll: I do remember calling Georg "Gee-or-gee/Georgie" and that was super cute to say! I called him "George" for so long, I never caught on that his named could be pronounced differently. It wasn't until I watched the turtle video when Bill says his name that I realized it was "Georg". That pronunciation is so much better. He should stay true to his German heritage and tell everyone that it is Georg, and not "George".
