It is very different. But every country has advantages and disadvantages. Ok, I will give you some differences:
- Europe is a lot smaller than the US. How long does a flight from NYC to L.A take? 4 to 5 hours? And you are still in the same country. If you fly 4 to 5 hours from Germany in any direction you are almost out of Europe. Out of a whole continent.
- A lot more history for example old houses and castles. But Europe is older than the United States (from the history point of view), of course you can find more history.
- school is more difficult and strict in Europe. But Americans have more fun in school.
- Americans are very open minded to foreign people. Always interested and friendly (at least how I experienced it over there). In Europe, we are used to see foreigners. That doesn´t mean we are not friendly, but not necessarly as interested as Americans.
@BubbleOnDrugs: Should I add you to the list. Do you wanna give me your real name and the city you live in? If it´s ok, I will add you anyway. ;)

I think Europe seems pretty awesome. There are so many places I've always wanted to go. Germany, France, England, Belgium, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Italy, etc.
Sadly though, I've grown up in Indiana and the farthest I've ever gone is Gatlinburg, Tennessee.... which is about a 7 hour drive.

Well, living in the United States .. I don't know, it must be something completely different! If you look well, is different in all countries, each with their culture, their language. If I were on vacation to U.S gave me very badly, because my English is very bad! xD
I read somewhere that there, in the United States do not have classes in German! Here in Portugal, there are lessons in English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Polish .. a question of seeking the right school.
Though I dont import much to live in Portugal (my country is beautifull xDD) I wonder how there is life in the United States. It seems more a place ... agitated than here! (:
And the whole staff is so nice!
(excuse the bad English, but I am using a translator who is not 100% reliable ^^')
My real name is Liliana.

I read somewhere that there, in the United States do not have classes in German!
Not true. It just depends on the school system. I took 5 years of German in school and every US College pretty much offers some type of German course. It's just not as necessary for us to learn different langauges because we can drive forever and still be in the same English-speaking country. In Europe, I imagine it's hard when practically every country that boarders each other speaks a different language. I wonder how that happened in the first place. o.o Oh well...

Okay soo Im from New York.
As an American, I am very open minded to people that come and visit here. Like idk I always want to know soo many things from them, the changes, people, what's new ect.
Maybe becouse I like meeting new and interesting people X]
As far as I know here, in NY, the school system only has 2 schools that teach German. And those schools are Specialized High-schools:
Engenering High-school one
and Stuyvesent High-school
In overal, most high-schools teach:
Italian
Japanese
Latin
Chinese *and different type of others*
Spanish
French
*and there are maybe 2-3 more that I Forgot* But yeah.
And Im really glad that there are some of you guys here in this forum too ^-^ I would sooo love to go to Europe. Like idk its sooo beautiful and stuff. X] Maybe when I get out of high-school, I may go out study over seas ^-^
And you guys, Your english is not bad at all. It's really good.

Well I'm from the U.S., but there's a good chance I'm going to go to school next year in Germany for a semester!!
I really hope to live in Europe some day. I love how much culture there is there..maybe this is just me, but I feel that there is not so much here in America..I don't know if this will make any sense, but I feel like after so many generations, people gradually just lost their culture. We don't even have food that is specifically ours! When I think of Italy for example, I think of pasta and calamari and all that, but when you think of America..what? macdonalds? seriously.
And I think it's amazing how many languages Europeans know as a whole (sorry to generalize, but that's a positive thing so hopefully its ok?). I've taken Spanish in school for ELEVEN YEARS and my spanish is still *****. European language teachers must rock, because it seems like so many of the kids that learn languages in European pick them up pretty well. I know that at least in my school in the U.S., people tend to blow off learning languages..
Well anyways, that was all very random!
But I love meeting people from different countries..in fact, one of my best friends is from Italy <33
So hi to all the people on here I don't know 8-)

So I want to see TH growing up in the US :D ... another reason is that I want to see how is my english, and I'd like to learn it more here, with your help :D

Yes! I've been in Modena on 11 July :D ... It was the most beautiful day of my life! Tokio Hotel was fantastic, I cried both during the concert and after the concert! It's a great feeling to be so near to them :D ... I arrived in Modena at 9 a.m. and I waited under the sun until 9 p.m. .. Before TH's concert there was an Italian group called Lost, chose by TH to open their concerts here in Italy... TH started at 10 p.m. ... It was amazing, my first TH's concert!

I'm from Belgium....But my dad's American and my mom's British soo....yeah...My english should be good (god I hope so...xD) But I go to school in Dutch, and always have ( since I've been in the creche) so I'm bilingual....
I have been to America...y'know to visit my grandparents and my aunt...
I think my parents chose to move to Belgium 'cos it has a great education system and what not...But are schools here are totally different to the ones in the US 'cos here it's really academic and they don't have any activities after school an stuff...I know this from my dad and we know an American family who used to live here...They said when they first went to school in America they were WAYY ahead!!
oh yeah and by the way:
my name is Molly and I'm from Kortenberg ( Belgium)
Kortenberg is a town near Leuven and Brussels..

I'm not sure why I wanted to join here. I just wanna talk with all kinf of fans.
Tokio Hotel is very famous in here, Finland. But some people just don't get what we fans think.
- I started to listen TH's music about 3-4 years ago.
- Tokio Hotel was in Finlad at the Elämä Lapselle-konsert (12.09.2007)♥ I was there too and the whole place explode whe TH came to the stage!
Okay, I live in Finland. << sorry about my bad english.
I'm sixteen years old and I'm going to Germany next year.

I'm Marta nd i'm from Lisbon (Portugal) but i lived in Macau (China) for the last 4 years =D
nd thats part of the reason i havent been to a TH concert...
why did i join this forum? well a friend of mine joined the uk nd when i decided 2 join it 2 i had problems with registering... nd i still cant join it... sooo i decided 2 join this one instead nd i really love it!!!!
plus... everybody who knows me knows that im kinda of obsessed with NY!!! i really really want 2 go to the US!!! nd 2 further prove my love of americans... my last bf was half american (new yorker) sooo.. yeah!! :)
lets see... how did i start liking TH??
i think last year a friend of mine showed them 2 me while i was on holidays here in portugal... when i got home i dowloaded some of their songs nd i thought they were ok... but its kinda of weird cos i cant remember really well which pics i saw of them...
but i think the first time i saw a TH video i thought bill was a girl! (i know! plz dont kill me!!!)....or maybe im confusing it with some other video... :?
anyway...it wasnt until this year that i really started paying attention to them... sure i listened 2 their songs nd stuff.... but nothing more...
then this summer when i started my holidays after finishing high school nd all the exams stress nd college stuff was over.... i decided 2 check them out on the web... just cos i had heard about all the craziness going on @ their shows in portugal... so of course i went 2 youtube nd watched some videos nd interviews... nd then i discovered TH TV!!! nd i completelly fell in love!!! :D
obviously Tom nd his piercing really really helped!! nd i managed 2 get my best friend 2 be a fan 2!!! nd she did it 2 another friend of ours!!!!
so even though im really recent fan im completly th obsessed nd of course but the caught on camera dvd!!! :D
ps: sorry 4 the really long post :?

I still don't know very well this Forum but what I have seen it seems pretty cool.
American People seem very outgoing, cheerfull and stuff like that. I have never been in the USA but I really enjoy to went there someday.
TH is famous in Portugal... but they are so hated like they are adored... I knew them about two/three years ago. I started to see entreviews about them in 'joy' and then I fell in love x)
I have been to a TH concert, here, in Portugal. I expected more. I think it could be better.
And here, in Portugal, we have to learn english until 9º grade.

i've never travelled in another country but i'd like to go to germany (especially in munich or berlin), spain, switzerland or austria.
well tokio hotel had a big success in romania in 2007-2008.. i found out about them from a classmate of mine who was mad about them (but only after one year i became a fan cuz i wan't curious to listen to their music).
this year, i think romanians don't love th so much anymore... everyone in my class hates tokio hotel :[ everyone calls you emo if you listen to their music :[ even the romanian media tried to create a bad image of them (i think you guys know the story).
apart from english and romanian, i also speak french; i learn it in school, but i wish i learned german. hard languages are always more interesting =D

Hey,
I'm Lin, I'm 23 years old, and I'm from Stein (Holland)..
I've been to 5 TH concerts.
My first concert was in Brussels 14-10-2007 (Belgium).
And the day before I'd seen them for the very first time at the TMF Awards of Belgium (in Hasselt).
Then at 4-11-2007 I went to Essen (Germany) to see them.
And then I went 4-3-2008 to Rotterdam (Holland), 14-06-2008 to Nijmegen (Holland) and 13-07-2008 to Werchter (Belgium) to see them xD
I'm a fan of them since april 2007, so over 2 years already and I still love them!
I hope they will come soon to Holland, Belgium or Germany again cuz I miss them like ****!!
Wanna know more?

I'm not European, but I am living in Germany for the time being.
I would be on the German forum, but I really don't like it that much.
This forum is the best. All the cool people are here.
I haven't met a person who doesn't like Americans while here.
Yes, they might not care to much for the country, but not the people.

Hi,
my name is Delphine, I'm 18 and I live in Paris, France.
I decided to register at a US forum because I want to know American TH fans, because I like to know TH fans all over the world.
I like this forum because I speak only french and english (and a little bit spanish) so I can understand the news haha
I've been to New York City and Los Angeles for Tokio Hotel. I went to NYC on February 2008, it was so cold xD But this city is amazing. And I went to LA on May 2008. It was awesome ! The concert was really great and I love LA <3
In France Tokio Hotel is really famous ! Many people knows them.
I know TH since 2006. I listened Durch Den Monsun on radio, and I fell in love of this band.
I've been to 16 TH concerts in Europe, 11 in France, 2 in Italy, 2 in Belguim and 1 in the UK.
(sorry for the mistakes I made)

To all European fans in this forum, chat here about:
- how you decided to register at a US Forum
I was lurking here for a while for new rumors and news and finaly dcided to join in. I don't know why, but I feel more comfortable these days to communicate in english on internet than in finnish *shrugs*
- why you like the US Forum
I think people here are a bit older than in Finland in general and here is always some interesting conversation going on.
- what you like about American people
I guess they are okay. Surpricingly different culture on some things, but other wise nice people.
- have been to the United States? Share your experience
No, never been, but I hope to visit NY or San Francisco some day.
- is TH famous in your European country?
I guess you can say that :-). And I'm probably the only one with the age starting from number 3 :-D
- how did you get to know TH?
I get to know TH around 2007 as they became popular here, but I didn't pay much of attention on them. Then on winter 2009 I was searching for guys with nice hair for some use and I remembered that in this Tokio Hotel-band was this guy with nice dread locks and I should find more about him. I went to YouTube, I watched MTV EMA 2007 -performance, I watched it twice... I watched it ten times.. The rest is history. Really. It was just instant reaction.
- have been to a TH concert in Europe? Share it.
No, never. I doubt I never will be also.

I have a question to all the European fans:
What do you guys think of America? What is the perception of America over in Europe?
Also, for those of you that have heard it what do you think of southern accents (US)? Over here people seem to think they're ignorant sounding but I've heard british men find them attactive. Is this true? What other countries do guys find our accent nice to listen to?
Also, I really want to get into more multi-cultural music. Can you guys send me current (not folk please!) song playing on your radios? I don't care what language it's in

So
I've never been to US so I have nothing to talk about it. My brother was there few years ago on an exchange for a year and he didn't like it much, mostly because of food and guys who wanted to lam him (did I say it correct?) because he looked like British to them (I don't know why ;p). But he's this kind of person who likes calmness, small cities etc. and States are too big and crowded for him.
With my friends opinions are divided. Some of them would do everything to visit USA and live there, some of them not. I don't see anything unique and special in this country, it seems to be like most of the countries on this world.
I don't know how is it in other countries in Europe, but in Poland even 15 years ago USA used to be a "dream world". In 1989 we overthrew communism, people were very poor, the economy was a total ruin and USA used to be a country which many people have patterned themselves on, they wanted to be just like Americans who have everything - big houses, big cars, cool clothes and money. Through years, since end of the second World War to 1989 Poland was under a dominance of USSR and people could only dream about living like people in America. If you know how socialism looks, you will understand what I'm talking about. If people wanted to buy a flat, they had to go to the office, file an application an wait for the assignation. In times of the biggest poverty we had sheets instead of money as a rations for some foodstuff etc., for example sheet for 300 grams of meat, sheet for a 1kg of sugar, sheet for a one pair of shoes etc. People got sheets in their employing establishments once a month. With this sheet you could buy something in shop after... staying in a loooong queue for a few hours. Not for luxury products, but for sugar, milk, butter etc.
And that's why USA was a "dream world". Today if I want to go to the USA I must get a visa and it's normal, but in socialism it wasn't that easy. Generally, it was imposibble to leave the country. You know why? The government's thought "What if they will see how is it in capitalism and democracy? And what if they will like it?! No way!". Poles could only visit other countries which were governed by USSR - Czechoslovakia, USSR, Yugoslavia or East Germany. USA was a free country, where people can be who they want to be.
Today, after 20 years we have democracy, capitalism, we are in Europenian Union and can go to every EU country if we want to. "Dream world" is now in Great Britain, Norway and Germany. People don't want to visit USA when they can jump in the car an in few hours be in the Germany or fly to GB, Norway or any other European country. When they saw what do they look like they don't have any need to seek for visa and fly to the New World. "Dream world" is here.
Wow, sorry that I've written so much, but I had to explain our attitude to USA ;)
You wanted some music... :D

Hey everyone, I'm THA7X, you can call me Caz :)
I'm from London, England and I am on the UK forum, however I joined this one because it's so much more active and fun! I also really like the close, friendly community on here! :)
I only know two Tokio Hotel fans from my school (apart from me). So I don't think there are many Tokio Hotel fans from my area at all. :(
I have been to the US before and I love it! Especially the shops. :)
