There are many lyrics out there for this song..
But since it is not on a CD, there's some words in the song
that are up for interpretation.

although Bill's English has improved exponentially.. I do think that sometimes his words can be up for interpretation because of his pronunciation and accent.

^^ as for what you said,
"choose" and "chose" are the same word
just in different ways,
"choose" refers to present tense,
and "chose" refers to past tense.

in order for it to sound legit,
i doubt he said "choose" just because that
would sound awkward in English.
But, either way, it has the same meaning!

For me though, I SOOOO do not get the 'becomming' part as opposed to the 'more than common'.
He's talking about love, and to me, him saying 'it's more than common' means love happens all the time and 'my own brother can see' means that Tom can sense that he needs this love.
"It's more becomming my own brother can see" doesn't make as much sense to me...just my opinion. haha.

And the whole "cool" vs. "cruel" thing, I'm just going by what I heard and the whole contradiction thing i.e: LOVE how you HURT me...

I can't really get the logic in that lyric. So basically, it's like he'd rather call it loneliness, what he's going through, than admit he's not got his/her attention? :???:

I think it's meant as "I chose to be lonely, (rather) than live without your attention". It's just that all the words don't fit. ;)

Loneliness is the less of two evils when it's either that, or the pain when someone you care deeply for can't be bothered. At least for me.. I'd rather be alone than suffer the heartache of one way affection. I think that's the point in the song. :)

I've been trying to get the correct lyrics for this song for a bit... I find it really deep and I tend to favorite certain lyrics. and I also try to interpret them like... what they would mean in a real life situation.

the "cool" vs "cruel" thing confuses me... a lot... I believe it's "cruel" because somewhere in that I hear an "r" like just the slightest but it's still there... I dunno. throughout the whole song, it sounds like he's contradicting the good with the bad.

like in the beginning it goes from "trying" to "dying" and "fighting".
then "as soon as you got me" which could mean got my heart then it goes to "you go and drop me" which basically would be throwing the heart away or however you interpret the as soon as you got me.

and it follows a pattern through a good portion of the song....

so if it were to be "cool" then it could be interpreted as touching, you know like a firey kiss that's cool to the touch? that's an example. then "I love how you hurt me" is a good and bad at the same time.
if it were to be "cruel" then it could be interpreted as abusing, insulting, putting the person down, destroying self esteem, and so on. then the "I love how you hurt me" could be good because that could mean that it's enjoyable, it makes you feel alive or anything else. but that would also switch the pattern to bad to good and then back to good to bad.

eh... I observe way too much. but really, finding a pattern can really make one thing sound like mor sense than another.

I thought it was. It's cool when you burn me. Then again, it doesn't make sense. It does if you don't think he is saying at as being like cold. I thought he just said it's cool.
