There aren't many, but which is/are your favorite video/s, and why?

because I like the colors they used and the atmosphere.

Automatic/ Automatisch (the special effects are amazing)
Übers Ende Der Welt/ Ready, Set, Go (i agree Bill's hair looked awesome)

1000 Oceans/ 1000 Meere (the whole train thing was cool, even if it is the way to break a girls heart)
And World Behind My Wall/ Lass Uns Laufen (the fire, and we get to see them being themselves)
And I cant forget Rette Mich even though I can't stand Bill's hair.

1000 Meere/Oceans - My absolute favorite. The colors, the fog, the dreamlike and yet kind of claustrophopic atmosphere, the railway tracks + I love the song so much.


However, most of the videos have effects I like a lot...

UEDW/RSG - I like the idea of the video. Reminds me of Orwell's 1984. The colors are great and Tom is cute there.

Rette Mich - Unbalancing effect and simple, dirty, old stage of the video.

Wir Schleißen Uns Ein - I have a mixed feelings of this video. The song and the video fit perfectly together with their atmosphere. It's a great reflection of Schrei-era's partly psychedelic sound. Bill's walking is unbearably hot. It's overall a genious video. The blindfolds, groping and pulling hands of countless people are great metaphorical idea. My only problem is that I'm not exactly a fan of the song, so it bothers me a little. If judged only by the video, I think it's genious. Maybe I would have tuned down the lighting a bit more to make it even less colorful and more hardlighting; dark shadows, bright lights.

WBMW - Behind the scenes is always love + I loved the fire/water elements.

Monsoon - Rain effect. Wet is good.

Don't jump/Spring nicht - I like it how in that empty hall they are playing they are all facing on different directions, located away from each other. It gives me a strong feeling of loneliness, separation and even desperation.

Automatic- The video was so powerful.It really caught my attention.I think it totally had an influence on me becoming a fan.:-)
1000 meere- gaash , the beginning of it is epic.Its just makes think of words like -romantic, eternity ,infinity..idk..and when the last chorus starts- when Gustav plays the drums and Bill gets all energetic..and...i mean, it is really great.I love it!:-D

And, thinking about it, none of their videos are leaping to the forefront for me. EMA 07 Monsoon will always be my fave performance, though, but it's not a VIDEO video, so I don't think it counts.

I'm usually against music videos because they define the song for you. I think YOU should be the one to decide what the song is about and what happens. It's like when reading a book then watching the movie. You imagine what the characters look like when reading the book but the movie tells you how they look. Where's the imagination?

...but my favorites are:

They're both beautiful and creative (and not to mention TOTALLY EPIC!!!) and they're both almost exactly how I imagined them to be. :-)

It's a real shame Vevo on YouTube cuts all the music videos SHORT BY LIKE 20 FLIPPIN' SECONDS! :-x

Don't Jump- Anyone who's watched the video just KNOWS. 'nough said.

World Behind My Wall- Because the backstage footage is amazing AND because they all look super hot. (HELLLLOOOOOO GEORG!!!! :cffgrin:)

1000 Meere - My fave song, I watched the video and got chills down my spine. <3

Rette Mich - They really managed to get across the meaning of the song with the clip.

Spring Nicht - I prefer it to Don't Jump because in DJ Bill doesn't fall. Which sounds bad but cutting the fall out kinda spoiled the vid for me.

UEDW/RSG - A very well done video, the marching, the dull khaki colours, Bill singing with an expressionless face is pretty much my fave bit.


As for Automatic, I like it alot, but I think it could have been better. Then again maybe in my head the clip I imagined is too much. WBMW I like for its pristine serene atmosphere, before the flames start, but it seems too focused on one thing.

Monsoon - Tom looks uber-gorgeous in this one. Totally flawless. AND THE RAIN EFFECT! ♥

RSG/UEDW - I like the idea for the video. It's totally cool. And Bill's hair is amazing!

Don't Jump/Spring Nicht - Don't even ask why. Everyone knows WHY! It made me cry when I first saw it ♥

It never touched me as a song so I guess O can't get into the video that much, but I don't know why it has always left me a bit.... cold even if it apparently is very meaningful song to many people.

Yeah... the song touched me but the over-dramatised video ruined it for me, to be honest. If they ever release Fur Immer Jetzt or Traumer, I hope they don't ruin the two TH songs that I deeply connect with, with an over dramatic video. :sad:

Spring Nicht is definitely their best video production and imagery and story/emotions wise I would have to say. actually made even ME get a little emotional the first few times I watched it haha! you're all like "OMG trench coat Bill run! RUNNN!" :laugh:

I really like The Rette Mich video it seemed to suit the emotion of the song for me... Not sure why :p

I liked the German version of Don't Jump (Spring Nicht) where in the end the one part of Bill jumps ... it's quite a surreal and trippy video but the way I see it is that the consciousness of Bill wanting to jump gets split into two due to a certain catalyst ( rockstar makeup Bill entering the picture - perhaps a memory, a sudden realization of hope, that someone like you is out there, you are not alone etc etc.. ) then the consciousness that had the realization steps down and is fine while all the negative, despairing unhappy side gets killed off (jumps) and the now safe Bill is better off for it and walks away. I don't see any sign of real suicide in that video and hate how they had to make the English version all pussy due to controversy.

Oh and my favorite videos as well as one of my favorite songs is the Ready Set Go video mainly due to the energy and the way the video begins.

Spring Nicht: Why?, Well, that song saved my life. I didn't won"t to take my treatments anymore because they me so sick, so once again my uncle came for a visit and said, Here, listen to this very closely, Of course I did. The rest is history and I am still here. I listen to alot of bands from different parts of the world and no other song could ever have made me think before I acted. Well there you go, One of many TH songs I love.

1000 meere and rette mich are not totally bad but to be frank, TH's videos are not really good or artistic most of the time for me and their music deserve more than that.

automatic was just too much for me, the storyboard is a mess and it's a pity because the place is a good choice.

ok muscle cars why not but the mix with the love-bot scene ok stop, the person who wrote this is mad/on drugs and don't understand the lyrics of the song uh o_O

Anyway, I think I've re-found Spring Nicht/Don't JUmp. It has never been my BIG favorite as a song or as a video, but lately I've been finding much more in it than befopre. I still think that the video is too emo for me, but I love more and more of some symbolical & visual things they did there.

You'd think watching the band spend almost the whole time walking down a nondescript stairwell in slow motion would quickly get boring, but I can watch this video repeatedly. It doesn't hurt that it's one of my favorite TH songs. And this is nothing to do with why I like it, but it's eerily prescient that the girls in the video are wearing masks and it's a couple years pre-Afghans on tour.

Ok so my faves are Wir schließen uns ein( because the song has an addictive quality and the video is so creative!) and scream/schrei (because the video was entertaining but not over done like some recent videos.)
