Answers to some frequently asked questions:

-We don't know the boys' e-mail addresses.

-Their official Myspace page is http://www.myspace.com/tokiohotel.

-.jpg, .gif, and .png are different types of images.

- some words will keep your post from posting. This is due to the webhost, not due to any forum settings we can fix. If your post doesn't post, try changing the wording.

- forum titles are 'Black Questionmark', 'Devilish', and 'Tokio Hotel'. They denote how many posts you have on the forum.

- your post count went down because of forum cleaning. Every now and then we delete old, locked threads, and the posts in those threads are removed from your grand total.

- want a thread of your own deleted? PM a mod and ask them to delete it and it will be done.

Posting Images

Images can only be posted if they are uploaded somewhere online first. I happen to have a photobucket account, so this walkthrough will be working with photobucket. The steps are basically the same for any image hosting website, though.

Step One

Upload the image by selecting 'Browse' to search your computer for the image you want.

Step Two

Select the image you wish to upload.

Step Three

Upload that bad boy!

Step Four

In the post window, click the 'Img' button at the top of the page.

And you will get this:

Step Five

Copy the URL of the image that you want. (I do realize this isn't the same photo uploaded above, but it all works the same)

Step Six

Paste the newly copied link between the bracketed img tags. It will look like this.

Step Seven

Repeat as necessary to get all the images you want in your post. Submit your post an enjoy the glory you have given us all!

Image Links

Want a picture to link to a website? Here's how to do it!

Step One

We've already covered how to upload images and make image posts, so we'll skip over that.

First, click the URL button at the top of the page.


And you get this:

Step Two

Between the URL brackets, hit the Img button.



And you'll have this:

Step Three

Copy and paste in your URL and image link in the proper places. It will look like this:

Posting Avatars

Wanting a nifty avatar, but just can't seem to get it to work? Here's how you do it!

Step One

Upload avatar.

Step Two

Copy link to avatar image and paste into 'link offsite' box.

OR

Upload one from you computer using the 'Browse' button.

OR

Paste the URL of your image into the 'Upload from URL' box.

Be sure to remember that avatars on this forum are 80x80!

Not sure on the size?

Right click the image and select 'properties'. It's dimensions will be listed under 'dimensions'.

And now you have an avatar!

Taking a Screen Shot

We've been seeing this one a lot, lately, so here's how to take a screen shot!

Step One

Select the screen you wish to take a sceen shot of.

Step Two

Look at your keyboard and find the 'print screen' button.


Usually it will have the words 'Print Screen' or 'Prnt Scrn' on it.

Press this button.

Step Three

Open your favorite drawing program, open a new work surface, and select 'paste'. Your image should show up in the new image file.

Like so:

Resize the image to something usable. Mine is 1440x900, which I think is just a bit too big to just send willy nilly. You DON'T have to, though.

Step Five

Save the image.

*note: TH contests call for jpgs. If you're submitting to one of those, make sure you save it the proper format!*

And you're done! Now you can use your new screenshot skills to show off amusing conversations, enter contests, or participate in 'Show off your desktop' memes.

Holy crap, why is the website down?????

The site tends to go down for a couple reasons.

1: There's a new video posted and EVERYONE wants to see it the second it came out. The massive influx of people trying to access the page overloads the server and it crashes out. If that's the case, go, have lunch, maybe get your hair/nails done, then try again and the traffic may have slacked off enough that the site is up again.

2: They're changing things around. New news post, posting a video, changing the splash page, whatever. All it takes is putting a < in the wrong place and BAM, the site is taking a little nap until they figure out why it's not working and fix it. Give it some time and try again and it may be fixed.

Hey, I got this PM about my account from an admin, what's going on?

SPAM. Oh the spam. The only PMs you'll get about your account from staff are infraction notices or confirmation that we did something you asked us to (deleted a thread or story you started). We'll NEVER tell you to click a link to confirm your account or anything like that. Clicking a link in a PM like that is more than likely a BAD THING. Virus and phishing bad.

If you're still not sure, scroll to the bottom of the forum and look at the 'forum leaders'. If your PM didn't come from someone listed there, than it's definitely NOT from us.

I wanna blow this popsicle stand! How can I deactivate or delete my account?

You, yourself, can't. What you need to do is PM an admin (me, THDGaja) with the account that you wish to have deactivated/deleted and say you want the account deleted. That way we know it's your account and not someone sending a random email to be a jerk.
